- Spray A Car At Home - Escort Rs Turbo Basecoat And Clearcoat. In this video we spray the Escort RS Turbo with 2 coats of waterbased basecoat and then apply the clearcoat. The basecoat was Lechler Rosso Red and the clear coat was Max Meyer 0200 2k lacquer. The Spraygun was a Devilbiss SRI Pro spot repair and it was fitted with a 1mm tip and sprayed at 2 bar (28psi)
They supplied the 2 liters of clear in different bottles with no labels on the bottles but different colored caps. We'll have to flatten off the peel forst before the final coat's.
What a fantastic looking job you have done outside ..you should put sone tarpauling up around the sides of that carport thing,that would help with the fly's...looking faward to seing the nex vid

hi pal , easiest way to get rid of the orange peal is when spraying if you see the orange peal appearing , then ad a little bit more thinners into the clear that will make it better , . i was told this when buying my star bright clear coat , they told me when spraying if you get orange peal and a tiny but more thinners and it should get rid of it and it did , and to be honest i didn't need to rub it down and polish it , , but u doing a good job pal :D
Hi Jamie, we couldn't do that as we were using water based base coat and the thinners would have reacted. with it.

yh i love um , i own 3 :D :P daily runner is a 2.0 laser , one I'm restoring in my display pic and vids on my page is my 3.0 x pack , and i do own a 2.8i in mint condition for just show use :D

Good luck with yours, I get it mixed up from a local paint factors. I am trying out new clears at the moment. I have used waterbased clears which were fine, I'm using a max meyer clear at the moment.
whats the name of your local paint factors? i'm really struggling to find any information out on the waterbased paints!
I use Fishers of Lincoln and they mix the Lechler waterbased base coat to order.

Cracking job, but shouldnt you be wearing a airfed mask spraying 2k clear? Ive been put off using waterbased at home due to drying times etc, but you have spurred me on to give it a go!
If I had one, I would use it. I wear the respirators other painters use. Good luck with your project.

Yeah, should have done really but the prep work was down to the chuckle brothers.

Should of primered that first.
Gun pressure too low. Creates orange peel.
