  • Robots without vision guidance are capable of picking up objects in a predefined location. Due to a lack of vision, an identification is not possible. A sorting action can be programmed related to the pick-up location.
Guidance by a vision system enables the robotic application to sort based on object identification. Within the robot programming, the identification is trained with pictures of the different objects. Then, the identification is done by an on-arm or off-arm camera setup. Each object identification can then be programmed for different actions, e.g. sorting into different categories.
