I feel really sorry for Perez, he’s a great driver and you kind of get the feeling that he’s treated like a 2nd class citizen. Can’t be the biggest morale boost to know you’re number 2.
What I find astounding is Max has been saying the car isn't that good, as has Adrian Newey's displeasure in the direction RB has taken the 20. So it's Checco's fault? To me that just shows how BAD the car is as Max has stated has driving @110% just to stay ahead and that was weeks ago. Now they are in the pack. Mercedes looks good. Checco doesn't deserve the dumping IMHO. The Team does.
Alonso! Why did he sign with AM? Sainz is still a viable option. Perez isnt that guy. I was hoping, but he isn't competitive with Max. Alonso could have been, but he made yet another bad career decision and signed with AM for another 2 years? Hopefully it had something to do with Adrian Newey signing on. Even still, thats a big gamble, and Fernando doesn't have much time left. But unfortunately Fernando is know for making bad decisions.
Sainz if renault/alpine do go to Merc for a power plant that is where he is going, Antonelli to Merc, ( Merc/toto won't expect him to do much for the first half of the season) Bottas back to Williams and James Vowels, perez to sauber/audi for 2025 and maybe 2026 alongside "the Hulk". Tsunoda doesn't get the Redbull drive because Honda are Lawrence & lances) baby Aston Martin and Alonso won't be there in 2026, instead Tsunoda (a Honda academy driver) is going to Aston Martin, it's what the cost of Honda engines was for that team to come aboard Papa stroll's baby for his son. Redbull have Tsunoda for one more year and Aston have Alonso for 1 MORE year before the 1+1 contract for tsunoda runs it course and is canned, Liam Lawson will have 1.5 seasons to learn F1 from Tsunoda and Danny Ric who will replace perez in the summer break for 1.5 years before Liam Lawson gets his orders from horner to partner up at the BIG team ( Redbull) D.R. will get a year and a half alongside Max and he can hardly do worse than perez at this point (plus the Redbull car is "oversteery" ( Max likes it that way, it suits his corner entry), which D.R. loves too. The whole thing of bringing VICARB in-house with Redbull was designed for this reason so that Liam Lawson would have the experience of D.R. ( who retires at the end of 2025) and Tsunoda ( Mr Angry a Honda protoge) before Isaac Hadjar and dog knows who is at VICARB for 2026. Pretty smart of horner AS LONG AS Max stays with Redbull until his contract is up in 2028, if he leaves for say Merc prior to that the horner looks like an idiot.
The only thing that screwed Perez was Perez. He was given a two-year extension and immediately the following week he crashes out and has not recovered. And I was absolutely amazed that they gave him a extension on his contract because he was just absolute crap for the last two years after Miami.

Yeah, but even if the car isnt that good, at least stay on track and stay in the points cause max is somehow doing it.
