This is such a nicely made video adam and of all of these It Gets Better videos, the content here is candid, wonderful and true. Thanks to all of you - big and small - for sharing your stories
I am so happy for those kids, I am 13 and gay and my 2 dads adopted me when I was 10 and it has been the best thing that ever happened to me. My 2 dads taught me about homosexuality on a regular basis and I started to realize that being gay was no different than being straight, they took me to gay pride parade every year and I was always meeting gay people that my dads knew. 2 years later after being taught in school for 3 years that gay is normal I had sat my dads down and told them how awesome it was to be part of the gay community. I told them that I didn't want to have a girlfriend and that I wanted to be gay just like them and they were very supportive of me and they told me that it was ok if i wasn't gay but I told them it just felt right for me to be gay and i cried in tears and they told me that they would accept me as gay, later on I met a boy my age who was gay and we became boyfriends and my dads also taught me more about being gay. my life has been forever changed. thanks dads
I'm from Washington! I think it's so awesome that you guys did this to show that you can be gay and still have a normal, healthy, supportive family. =)
Thanks! My sons " live " that their two moms have made a family but now my 18 year old gay son can understand that more men than he sees in our small community can also make a family.....
When the little boy flashed the double thumbs up I tore some muscles from smiling. (Not sure how thats possible but I feel it) Those dad's really love their children and they deserve that :'D
im so glad that im gay.. and im so happy that i was able to see two men that can be parents.. ill be a feather boa parent yet!! than you for all your support guys it makes my heart swell up with happiness!! thank you!
''This video put the hugest smile on my face'' ... the same also happened to my face - now there is a huge smile =) may it stay forever ^^ Thank you very very much for this video :) Like that sweet little boy at 3:23 ☆THUMBS UP☆ ❤Added to my favorites❤
I am in love with you all and pray so deeply that the many young men in my life who think the idea of family is hopeless because of their sexual orientation, will find inspiration from your stories! Actually....if the single silver fox dad is still single I seriously want to set him up with one of my friends;) Love, blessings, support and admiration!
this is Nicolas from the video 12 years later, im 15 almost 16 now and my brother sebastian is 18 and about to go off to college. I vaguely remembered filming this when I was little and asked my parents about it I am now rewatching, so here i am just in case anybody wanted an update.
Hey Nicolas, it’s so cool that you can see this video so many years later! I’m the one who made it and it was wonderful for me to meet all these men. I’m still connected to some of them. I’m sure you’re doing great as you have some awesome dads.
This is fantastic. There's an organisation in North America called the man boy love association (NAMBLA). They could learn from you how to keep the bigots happy. Well done. (Good job!)
thats ok. if i had even one father in my life growingup i wouldnt have cared if he was gay. to a child with a dead father and an absentee single monther i know that i can say without a doubt, being a good father doesnt mean being straight. it means being there and loving your child and teaching them how to handle the world and how to love others even though they do not deserve it.
I hope to one day experience the feeling of having a child. How it will happen is still unclear because my state doesn't allow adoption to gay couples and the insane amount of money for a surrogate is out of the question. I can dream though!
OMG finally real people... It's so refreshing to see real ordinary super heros other than the usual good like creatures body obsessed with no personality
this is a very inspirational vid, because i hope to raise kids with the man i love someday. plus it's a REALLY good thing that i didn't get my last girl friend pregnant lol!
Great video...the bald guy in the one segment...would not mind calling him DADDY!!! LOL!!! Just kidding...I do hope that ALOT of trouble kids see this and KNOW that it gets better!
@GingerKinomiya u can't just assume that their children are gonna turn out gay. but if they do then why should that be a problem.now for one year i lived with a mother and father, and a great friend of his.my parents got divorst and she left with my sis. so then i had to live with my dad and his friend. and they didn't become gay with each other. and i turned out straight. and i learn that his friend was gay which taught me to be o.k. with them.plus he was very religious. we know he's with god.
the number of hateful comments here is appalling! these were beautiful, loving families! Hell, some of the children may have been ones that some right to lifer stopped the abortion of and nobody else wanted! People need to get off your high horse and let people live their lives. If you're so damn secure in your beliefs, why does it bother you that other people don't agree? discrimination in any form is childish, and if Jesus existed he would probably agree with me!
Sargeants* And if they opposed DADT, that doesn't mean they don't want gay soldiers in the squad. It could mean that they could have a gay person admit to them about their sexuality, and would not eject them from the squad.
@ghostpwnz The point in IT GETS BETTER is to let people know they're loved without being bullied, or mistreated because we're different... So before you go and post shit, why don't you even LOOK to see what the message of 'It Gets Better' is all about..
@ghostpwnz When did I ever accuse straight soldiers of asking if others were straight or not? The don't ask part of DADT does not only apply to straight soldiers, just so you know. It applies to all soldiers gay or straight NOT to ask about another person's sexuality. Besides, it's repealed ANYWAYS, and it's repealed for a reason. Can't handle it? Sucks. And what do you mean by "normal soldiers" ?
@ghostpwnz Who said that all gay people even get married in a church? I'm not Christian, I certainly won't get married in a church. And for those who say it's against their religion to let me marry in their church if I wanted to, THAT'S FINE, I respect that. However, people that are denying my marriage generally, there's the issue in which their limiting my rights.
I wish I could have kids I don't know if this is going to happen though I am 29 and still living at home and would need a better job I am so shy I have pushed a lot gay guys away because my anxiety (I have always had anxiety since I was a kid) at this stage my life I don't feel very good
stand in the middle of your orphanage in your local average sized city. these Dads are parent lifers, lol. their kids future success could be of biblical proportions. :-)
I think a couple of gay parents might be even better than a straight one. Because in a heterosexual couple the woman can get pregnant by "accident" ... and the couple decides to hold the child against his will, making him grow bad. Instead, if two people of the same sex decide to have children is because they really want them! I grew up with my grandparents .. i love them so much...but..i would liked to have two gay parents .. at least I would had them. Sorry for the bad english! ^_^
@ghostpwnz OK, seriously, you can stop putting words in my mouth. I never said that it's my right to join the military. Joining the military is most definitely a privilege. However, heterosexuality may be expected, but it is certainly not required. The gender that you are attracted to does not define the person you are.
@ghostpwnz Oh really, I don't? My right to marry is legal in five states and the United States capital. The issue is that they are limiting my rights to the point where I don't have them. Fortunately, the rights are expanding, however some people can't handle it :)
im know i was gay when i was 8 and i kissed a boy and i like it and we were boyfirend and boyfriend until he left to a differnt city but im 12 right now and already i pretty happy but i am being bulled alot please give me support
I love this video! You guys are awesome. Thank you for putting this together. It really encourages me.

What a beautiful tribute to loving fathers everywhere! Every child should be so lucky to have such caring, honest, and devoted men in their lives. xo
Brilliant video. You are all fantastic role models to young gay men especially everywhere.

i am so happy these awesome people went beyond accepting themselves, they helped others accept themselves too.

Aww, that was sweet. This really gave me hope. :)
Awesome video :) thank you
VERY NICE VIDEO
beautiful.
I think every family is great as long as parents love their children, whether it's a homosexual family, heterosexual family or single-parent family.
Feliz Dia dos Pais ! Happy Father's Day!

OMG finally real people... It's so refreshing to see real ordinary super heros other than the usual good like creatures body obsessed with no personality
@ghostpwnz "The point of DADT being repealed is that if anyone asks about a gay person's sexuality..." So, when did I say that exactly?
too perfect.

this is a very inspirational vid, because i hope to raise kids with the man i love someday. plus it's a REALLY good thing that i didn't get my last girl friend pregnant lol!

Bellisimo !!!
I'd love to see a similar video for gay moms.
But why the "Feather Boa" part in the title? It's like you're saying, "We are effeminate". I don't get it.
@ghostpwnz I just read your other comment. Good for you.
@ghostpwnz Exactly. So what's the issue here?
Great video...the bald guy in the one segment...would not mind calling him DADDY!!! LOL!!! Just kidding...I do hope that ALOT of trouble kids see this and KNOW that it gets better!
;) im gay n my biggest dream is to be a father someday n i love this video it makes me really happy n like theres hope for me
I can't wait to be a dad also. Being gay is not going to hold me back. The only thing holding me back is myself. :)

Them children look like popping Margie T Castro on a landform at midnight
Really an inspiration. I hope gay marrige is legalized in my area so one day i can marry a beautiful woman and start our own family. -3

That seems to always be case.

@ghostpwnz That's actually a stereotype that all gays have girly voices. Look at the men in this videos, do all of them have girly voices? No.
im know i was gay when i was 8 and i kissed a boy and i like it and we were boyfirend and boyfriend until he left to a differnt city but im 12 right now and already i pretty happy but i am being bulled alot
please give me support
lol they will raise their kids to have the same mentality as their parents
It seems so effortless in developed countries to dream and make it come true. :(
