I’ve heard of people wearing Kimonos, and being accused (by the usual suspects) of cultural appropriation. I’m not Japanese, but my mother was (I was adopted), and I couldn’t even imagine her getting offended by something so stupid. I’ve seen pictures of her when she was younger, and she and some of our (American) friends would wear her kimonos and pose for the camera. She worked at an Elementary school, and kids would ask her everyday to either teach them Karate or Origami (I imagine that question was split down gender lines), and she was never offended; it always brought a smile to her face. If she were alive today, wokeness would confuse her immensely.

There's even a National holiday called 'heritage day' , where people celebrate other cultures. These students live in a very closed world. With their logic would any Mexican dressed as a westerner be doing the same ?
The reason I think Americans think this way especially younger Americans is because they don't travel enough outside their country to experience different cultures and therefore are stuck on this mindset Most Europeans are use to travelling and experiencing different cultures so its less an issue

Disrespect the owners by refusing to remove your shoes or risk offending a fellow college conformist by abiding by the Japanese cultural custom?
True story. I was in Little Tokyo in DTLA a few weeks ago. We were in a small bar and I was wearing a shirt with some Japanese writing on it (it was from my favorite band). The Japanese woman who was the hostess, was trying to read what it said on the sleeve (Welcome back home masters and princesses). When I showed her she laughed and asked what it was about. Excellent video warms the heart having this channel and knowing we've not totally lost our minds just yet 😂.let's keep it going and douse the flames of the clueless entitled new woke brigade 💪
We are all utilizing other cultures all the time. I notice the black women were wearing European western clothes, not the traditional African clothing of their ancestry. Same for the Asians.
I remember when I spent a few months in Australia many years ago, people in NSW called Victorians "Mexicans". I was slightly confused at first, then I met Merv Hughes.
I totally agree. I live in Japan and everyone is so happy to see foreigners wear kimono or other Japanese items. Woke uni students should get out more.
So I’m in my sixties and when people my age were growing up we were told that the US is the great melting pot. A place where cultures merge and interact. It’s what made us great and special, our ability accept and appreciate the people around us. It’s also why people to this day, risk everything to come here. But, the woke don’t see it, they can only see need for segregation (unless it’s women’s sports).
Just love how so many people get offended on other people or culture's behalf without realizing how insulting and patronizing this is, just totally lost on these muppets. Can guarantee that pretty much no-one in Mexico will be bothered by what Will is wearing. Do you think anyone in the West is bothered that people in non-western countries may be wearing typical western garb?
Cultural appropriation is a wonderful thing! That allows us to enjoy music, food, art, literature, design styles and different ways of thinking, etc. It’s a wonderful, wonderful thing and it is one of the great benefits of the radical improvements in transportation and communication.
It’s so crazy to see these students be absolutely stunned and unable to reasonably explain why, of course one should be able to at least explain why one feel insulted ON BEHALF of someone else.
Probably my favourite channel on YT! Very intelligent and narrative and views are second to none...(With the exception of the brilliant Douglas Murray) Mate...how are you still living in Australia? The most woke , along with Canada, country on the plane.....Oh...You live in Thailand....aaah....no wonder you can still think for yourself! Love ya.
Typical. The people who have no right being offended are offended, but the people who absolutely have the right to be offended, are not only not offended but are genuinely getting a laugh out of it and don’t mind it one bit. I mean if that’s not the world wrapped up in a neat little package these days I just don’t know what is.
I'm offended by cultural appropriation. How dare all those country take what another country's culture created, such as human right, mandatory school for children, workers' right, right to a fair trial, abolition of slavery, etc.
Right, that does it! I'm going to get dreadlocks, wear a kilt, a sombrero, get henna tattoos, bang a native american drum while singing "Danny Boy" and walk through the nearest university grounds. Let them freak out over that.
Sometimes people of other cultures gift guests with an item unique to their culture, like a kimono or a saree. They are pleased when you like their culture. We have some traditional items of clothing in my culture too (Lederhosen and Dirndls etc) I'm excited when I see someone here wearing one. Hardly ever occurs but I see it as a compliment when someone does. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
As a Filipino, I would be ECSTATIC to see other nationalities/cultures wear our national costume. My expectation only is that they would treat it with respect. In my experience however, I don't see any foreigners disrespecting it so all's good. People just find things to get oppressed/offended by. Are their lives this boring or depressing?
Someone interviewed people in China about western women wearing Qipao. One dude said, "sure, they can wear it, if they're not fat." Some people have a different view of what disrespect means.
Odd how the cultural left activists being find cultural appropriation to be “offensive” while they celebrate gender appropriation by trans person or even ideological appropriation by the non European world of the political/economic philosophies of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, a German Jew and a German Christian, respectively.
It makes no sense to me, how boring and rigid our world would be if we couldn't appreciate all the other cultures out there. I'm Irish, have always lived in Ireland. Cooking for my family I've cooked italian, Spanish, Mexican, Ted Mex, Cajun, Jamaican, Chinese, Indian, Thai and will add more flavours to my menus when I come across them. Who needs boring meals, and boring one dimensional lives.

It’s what made us great and special, our ability accept and appreciate the people around us. It’s also why people to this day, risk everything to come here. But, the woke don’t see it, they can only see need for segregation (unless it’s women’s sports).
At this point in the western world, I don't want my grandkids going to university, they will be lobotomized.
There is nothing wrong with emulating a culture you admire.
The man said it. You're in the right atmosphere. I think it all depends if you're making fun of culture or not.
Fantastic video... Great content my friend!
Cultural appropriation is a wonderful thing! That allows us to enjoy music, food, art, literature, design styles and different ways of thinking, etc. It’s a wonderful, wonderful thing and it is one of the great benefits of the radical improvements in transportation and communication.
I'm Mexican and it's hella funny! He should be yelling free tacos! Guarantee those students wouldn't complain
Why would that be offensive? Let's see people dressed up as Vikings.
Denim is from Nimes in France, get your jeans off if you are not French.
Love ya.
How did we get here?
Keep it up 💪
Typical. The people who have no right being offended are offended, but the people who absolutely have the right to be offended, are not only not offended but are genuinely getting a laugh out of it and don’t mind it one bit. I mean if that’s not the world wrapped up in a neat little package these days I just don’t know what is.
I wonder what they would say about my friend, he married an Eskimo!
Classic! I love wills videos.
I'm offended by cultural appropriation. How dare all those country take what another country's culture created, such as human right, mandatory school for children, workers' right, right to a fair trial, abolition of slavery, etc.
I'm Dutch and made kick-ass burrito's yesterday and drank tequila beer.
Love it.
Nothing offensive about it.
Blo*dy hilarious!!!! Haaaa love Rach x
Love this content.
You don't know what it means to wear these clothes?
What? It's CLOTHES!!!
Society evolves by genetics and culture
Cultures become strong by appropriating the best from other cultures.
I am on the fence because i have seen people disrespect my culture but i am happy if they are bieng respectful
Someone interviewed people in China about western women wearing Qipao.
One dude said, "sure, they can wear it, if they're not fat."
Some people have a different view of what disrespect means.
Too true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What about all the kids around the world who do martial arts in their Gi
It makes no sense to me, how boring and rigid our world would be if we couldn't appreciate all the other cultures out there. I'm Irish, have always lived in Ireland. Cooking for my family I've cooked italian, Spanish, Mexican, Ted Mex, Cajun, Jamaican, Chinese, Indian, Thai and will add more flavours to my menus when I come across them. Who needs boring meals, and boring one dimensional lives.
