I haven't seen a train since the 16 March, so this was a the next best thing. Excellent camerawork and editing, those distant shots of the dive under are fantastic. Really interesting comments as well. Many thanks for putting this together.
I can recommend a subscription to Railcam. Have a look at the free cameras before you decide whether to be a supporter. The supporter only cameras are the better locations and better quality.
Hi Boogie! ... always plenty to see at Acton Main Line even if there's not much stopping there. As usual, ... well filmed, documented, researched and presented. (Other bloggers could well learn from your simple but effective presentations). A pleasure to watch ...as usual. Thanks AB
Thank you. I think something that others could think about that influences me is, the video is about the location and the trains, it isn't about me. I'm just the cameraman.
Well shot. It's been ages since I visited Acton Mainline. We used to go to the yard after the pub and stay there until 2am. I lived in Tolworth at the time. We'd watch the night shunting, late 70s, early 80s. 08s shunting vacuum braked mineral wagons and 21ton coal hoppers. Tolworth was one of the destinations for the coal hoppers. How people got any sleep nearby was beyond me. They were anything but quiet in the yard. Interesting to see the aggregates train to Tolworth now it's in the hands of Freightliner. I notice some of the the rear portion was conventional couplings, unlike Yeoman inner and outer stock. Wonder if it was deliberate? The run around loop at Tolworth is too short for maximum length trains of 18 hoppers, so the last few wagons are shunted into a short siding. The train is run around in two parts. Okay with DBs 66s as they have swing out knuckle couplers, so if a train of Yeoman stock is split from within the set at the knuckle coupling, not a problem. But Freightliner 66s only have buffers, so would be a little stuffed, unless they just run shorter trains of 15 or 16 hoppers to avoid splitting. Nice camera work, keep it up. I now live 200 miles north, but intend to venture south when the 701s are on SWR and to take a trip from Liverpool Street to Norwich on the new Stadlers.
Real shame is that Heathrow Express is replacing the Class 332s with the modified Class 387s that is due to enter service in May (fingers crossed). And Class 360/2s could be cascaded to EMR and to work with the Class 360/1s cascaded from Greater Anglia. Or Class 360/2s could be transferred to Bangkok to operate on the Airport Rail Link. And the Class 332s are most likely to be sent for scrap or to be stored. Unless other operators can inherit the Class 332s.
I have several in production at the moment. All using material filmed before the lockdown. I am aiming to have part two of the Ealing and Shepherds Bush railway ready for publication on Tuesday.

Reckon when the lockdown is released and I'm allowed out I might just give Acton a look. Excellent as always from Boogies trains. Well done 🤓
Thanks for sharing! Didn’t know the IET’s operated on so many new routes!!

Almost at 3000 subs!
Yes. My RUclips stats consistently show that about 80% of my views are from people who have not subscribed.
