At the beginning, Taehyung thinks that everyone is happy just because someone is dating and he isn't happy because he doesn’t have a girlfriend. And he got hit by a car. The second time we see that he is with a girl...and he is happy even if everyone around them is fighting... BUT HE STILL IS KILLED BY A CAR AGAIN. And when he wakes up and sees himself, he accepts himself and understands that happiness depends on yourself...not on someone else. That is: we will all die someday... but while we live, we must understand that our happiness depends on ourselves first of all. You should LOVE YOURSELF!

The clip is up for different interpretations, it can be taken as life will always be the same but it is your perspective that matters, it can also be taken as you need to drop toxic relationships in your life since that friend is leading him on with how she acts while keeping it under the friends label and at the end he is scolding himself with the “yaah” at the end to snap out of it.
It can be also taken as representation of idols’ lives, where the have to be alone so fans be content, while they really don’t care even when he is bleeding on the road, they still carry on with their lives, and when he is in relationship everyone is angry and unhappy and STILL don’t care about him dying and focusing on fighting among themselves.
It can be taken in many ways, that’s how art is 🔥💜

My preferred interpretation of the MV is a perspective on idol life: (many) fans don't want him with anyone so either he's alone while everyone else is happy or he's in a relationship and everyone is mad and fights. So in the end he will just choose what he wants and only trust himself.
Surely V know ARMY better. ARMY should know the difference between selflove and selfish love.
Sure the our shodow is part of us and we listens to it but we don't have to let it control us💜
The thing I always admire about Taehyung is he never runs after trends, he always makes music that satisfies him as an artist, his music is so soulful and distinctive with his powerful deep vocals, his mvs always make me emotional, here also the underlying message is so beautiful, no matter what we only have ourselves in the end so we better love ourselves to the fullest and do what makes us happy, also the inclusion and diversity of all the couples was so heartwarming, thank you Taehyung for such a masterpiece💜💜💜

As for the MV, most common theory was love yourself but there's also Koreans who said at the end the first V says "YAA!" which means "HEY!" as he's jealous of the 2nd V, while 2nd V breaks the 4th wall looking at us and he smirks because he got the girl.

Here's my take. Tae said there are two versions, one when he's single and one when he's in a relationship. It's like a parallel world,... or groundhog.... the outcome would be the same, but the feeling or experience on each version is different. W/c points out to 2 Tae at the ends, representing each version. Single he died alone no expeession. Relationship ver he died happy, hence him smiling dying bec he was able to experience love. That's why the 2nd Tae smiled at the end. Love is eternal 🙆♀️

There are basically two theories for now.
THEORY 1 : When V was single, everyone around him was happy and next thing when he had a partner, everyone was fighting/unhappy. V dies in both lives which indicates that people either single or in relationship cannot be happy until and unless they truly love themselves.
THEORY 2 :- In first life, Tae was lonely and unhappy and he died being sad. He was unhappy till the end and was probably wondering why his life turned out like that. However, in the second part, he got to experience love and companionship so even if he still died, you can see that he was smiling laying in the pool of his blood. Even after he woke and saw his past self beside him in the bed, he smiled because he finally put an end to "friend" and experienced love. This shows love is beautiful. It has the power to make your life better so that you have no regrets whatsoever.

Really surprised you guys weren't able to come anywhere close to the meaning of the ending when I thought it was super straightforward and kinda obvious. Two words: "Love yourself" It's literally the two versions of V (the lonely one and the one in a relationship) next to each other) In a nutshell, the Mv simply states that life for all of us has one inevitable end: death. The journey of life whether alone or in a relationship is meaningless in the end if there is a lack or absence of "self love". In the very beginning and in the end, all you have is you so embrace yourself.
