- Firmware 27.01 is in beta for the Axe-Fx III and it adds a touch wah inspired by the legendary Korg A3. If you're a fan of U2 you'll want to recreate this on your Fractal.

Love the last adjustment you made to the preset and showed in the outro playing. So trippy
very cool LT! it takes a nerd (like all of us dare I say) to research and dig up all this info about what a celebrity guitarist used to get the sounds on a hit record.. and then to be able to use that info along with an AMAZING modeler like the Fractal family of products and voilà! you have a 99% perfect replication.. thanks amigo!

Nailed it, as usual, LT. Killer.
The full barre chord sound at times is similar to the sound on Numb.
Numb sound was also a stock A3 preset. Can’t recall which one.
Hi Leon, What Axe Edit Version do you have, I installed 1.14.03 which is the latest released by Fractal Audio, but some controls are missing that I see in the bottom right trimmer Left pan Right pan, phase invert, while in the top left the trimmer that you call peak mine is called Resonance

Just to clarify, this is only on the Axe FXIII and not on the FM3 or 9?
At the moment, yes. The FM9/FM3 got the filter updates so they should get this

If you like to have the U2-Sound you should not use the flanger.
Nice "first draft" I would say. Still very far from your video with the original A3. 1/ There is a strange "tiny" sound, 2/ the flange on the A3 is REALLY remarkable and unmatchable. Will you try to get closer and do a A/B video comparison with the A3 ?
Might sound better with less hot pickups.
Definitely something I plan on refining when I can spend more time with the Korg!
@@G66eu Great I can’t wait ! I own myself an old A3 that I’ve restored (screen + pots). The feeling, the « woooosh » of the flanger are incredible. That would be so cool to replicate it !
I found this patch didn't really resemble the original patch at all despite using a similar effect chain and playing the mysterious riff. 😂
