Agreed. The health inspectors need to give them a pass. Cats are very clean. Rats carry disease. If the cats are taking care of that problem, let them stay.
Awwww, when I lived in the city, I would frequent certain places strictly because they had bodega cats! My landlord didn't allow pets, so going into a store and seeing a kitty laying around was awesome.
My best kittie was from Bushwick Brooklyn (I see St. Barbara's on Central Ave. in the background here). The Bushwick kitties are formidable and smart. She was an exceptional tuxedo cat from that area, who lived until the age of 19.
Cats are awesome, not only are they good pets but they kill and eat basically anything that can eat our stores of food, birds, bugs, rodents. Cats kill and eat even moths lol
Bodega cats are essential in new york. Shop keepers are smart to have them.ive seen closed restaurant with mice running in them but they didnt have a cat
Okay, this is great, but could you just add in at the very end a shot of Rafi and Dallas giving a bodega cat a "Chea"? And if the cat meowed while doing it, that'd be great. But really beautiful shots of the bodega. I could smell the honey buns.
I was just picturing a situation In which I am a shop owner, what kind of steel rod I would use to beat any customer who tried harming my bodega cat, and how I would explain their injuries to the police.
Having lived in Lil Havana in Miami...you learn one thing going to the local bodega...DON'T frak with the bodega cat...he the one keeping mice and rats off the food you buy..and beside that Cat Master has a slave that will throw you out if you make The Cat Master mad....just saying as a proudly owned hooman slave...lol
Awesome. It's too bad the city doesn't see that the cats are far more beneficial than they are detrimental. Mice and rats spread many more diseases that humans can catch than cats (or dogs) do. The only regulation should be that all bodega cats should be spayed or neutered, and cared for properly.
Man there is more of a chance I'd shop at a store with cats in it than a store with NO cats in it.
Agreed. The health inspectors need to give them a pass. Cats are very clean. Rats carry disease. If the cats are taking care of that problem, let them stay.
I approve this message. Bodegas aren't known as bodegas in Toronto, but the cats remain ubiquitous- as it should be.
I would never set foot in a bodega without a cat. Couldnt trust the place.
Facts
Me too. Never been to NYC, but at this point if I went into a shop (or even a restaurant) I'd wanna see a cat or I'd excuse myself.
Bodega Cats would be a good name for a band.
I shall be naming my band bodega cats if I ever make one
I'm goina name my gang that
It already is one
I have their first album “ Whiskas “.

I would like to thank these cats for their service
Bodega cats really be keeping the country moving and nobody seems to thank them. Thank you, Bodega cats for your immensely valuable service.
Every cat should strive to be a Bodega Cat!
The bodega cat is my spirit animal
HAAAHAHAHAAAAA
THATS AWESOME
Apparently it's racist to say that now
"Wait. Is that a mouse?
No. It's just a shoe lace.
But if it had been vermin, it would have been captured."
I loved that part LOL

This is just wonderful. Love the documentary style and the sharp writing. Satirical, yet serious for those who know cats. Nice job!

Bushwick is a citadel for cats.
They're doing a great job, give pets to any bogeda cat accepting them.
A furry security guard
Hail to all the bodega cats.! Love cats😻😻😻
Let's be real. These cats have more of a right to be there than you do.
Lol why you hatin on dude?
@@Maestro-gh2ei who said anything about hate? The cats are a fixture.
these majestic creatures must be related to the Bar cats I keep seeing here in Baltimore
and the distant cousin, the pub cats of NSW
Man I love being recommended old videos
Waiting for the next season.. hope it’s available on Netflix
OMG, this is such an interesting documentary, wish more people will see cats as heroes, and not like something bad :(
Still they stride the linoleum 😂😂😂
I can’t watch this enough times! 😆

Ayyy..My great grandma had 8 cats on her property in Guatemala to prevent rodents. We've been knew wsupp lol
Is that a real place?
like,a supermarket with cats in it?
i wanna go there.
I'd rather shop at a spot wit a cat then without one.
I've never seen a bodega cat but I've seen a bookstore cat
I love Bodega cats and bring them catnip.
David Attenborough would be proud. BBC English, of course. Narrated by some guy called Ashley. How's that for authenticity?
Just loved it!! Great narration and what lovely cats.
I feel like this is going to blow up soon. At the moment it has about 301k views.
The cats are actually the highest paid employees in the bodega
Here because of an extremely late recomendation
The bodega cat: Guardian of the potato bread I REALLY need, please!

We even got Project Family, street and alley cats too. Our NYC cats are true survivors.
Awww it’s the cutest beast ever
this vid just makes me happy
Ashley did such a great job narrating...Brilliant!
Feral swagger FTW...
I was just picturing a situation In which I am a shop owner, what kind of steel rod I would use to beat any customer who tried harming my bodega cat, and how I would explain their injuries to the police.

Love it, love it, love it!!!💞💕💓💗
One of the best InternetsCelebrities videos.
Gotta have bodega cats. Only way to be 100% rat and mouse free!
there's one in a liquor store near where I live, and I'm in San Francisco
LOL. BUT LORD GIVE THE CAT A REAL BOWL FOR WATER!!!
NYC would fall without the Mighty Bodega Cat!
Well theres no rats there i can assure you that!
If my cat was in a store that bread section would be GONE lol
cat got your shoelace?
I liked this.
Wholesome. Love it.
The best documentation in the world😆😆😆

Ugh NYC Cant ban the cats an so can Landlords. My Apartemnt building dogs and cats are banned and nearly everyone has a cat or dog
BO-DE-GA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was a cute docuCat.
But I'm curious, what exactly makes a Bodega a Bodega, and not a shop, convenience store, or mini mart?
They're often family owned, not a chain or franchise, and sometimes a bit unconventional.
No, not drinking at the WC, that is for dogs :)
This is top tier content here
wtf , whybis this so awesome🤣🤣
Thank you bodega cat
severely underrated video
Fandamntastic. All that feral swagger!

maybe this sounds like "hygiene freak", but the cats drink toilet water then roaming freely, also around food & beverage items... well...
😆😂🤣 I was just thinking that ...let me not ever shop there
Deadass, They also the manager of the bodega!
Great video what a dub!!!
Like the plains of the Savanah they walk the aisles searching for prey
So good!!!
Why does it sound like animal planet in a jungle narration?
Because it's meant to, duh. And everything in this video, is subtle humour. But in your case, I guess it's more of an r/wooosh moment.
show respect
This sounds like narrated by Arnold Schwartzenegger
Bodega cats are essential workers. 😤
Oye mami, get me some tuna eh? Cucaracha no me gusta.
lmfao that was fucking hilarious I thought it was just the bodega by my house that kittens all up in that shit.
