- Engineer Trainee Bill from SEPTA coordinated a visit with PA Paul aka Conductor Paul to ride on his run to Croton Harmon. I had to witness this historic encounter between 2 noteworthy railroaders from New York and Philadelphia. In addition, we were introduced to a young child railfan named Gio who wants to follow in Paul’s footsteps, and this is readily apparent. Much of the video is dialogue between Paul and Bill telling anecdotes of working for Metro North and Septa. A fabulous time was had by all, both young and old.
This video puts a smile on my face, you can tell how much passion Paul has for his job, and Bill is the perfect foil for him! Glad to be an impartial watcher as someone who adores both MTA Railroads and SEPTA. Much love to everyone here
It's so nice to see Paul finally getting the recognition He so deserves
….and then some
Gio absolutely nailed that cosplay of Paul. Great to see such comradery between railroads. I wish I could ride the trains up there more often.
Love this video so much!
So glad!
Love to see great conductors in action. Were I still working on a railroad, I'd learn from him.
You should've heard the old computer voice in the 1980s and early 1990s on the people mover at the ATL Airport (now called "The Plane Train"). As a 10yr-old kid, that robot voice was the coolest thing ever.
What a great relaxed crew at work!
My good friend Paul, Metro-North's finest conductor.
This video is very relaxing and enjoyable to see beautiful people conversational and enjoying the ride. And to Paul congratulations wishing him the very best and to tim and his buddy thank you
What sheer joy it was to watch & listen to the wonderful banter & sincere comments made from such wonderful railroad enthusiasts. So very glad that Conductor Paul is nurturing a truly "worthy" young apprentice to "carry the torch" for those who love railroading! Obviously, this rail journey is simply a function of what many of us do each day. Yet, your wonderful use of the camera to tell a story provides many of us who love the rails a truly priceless experience. Thank you for sharing this simple but worthy rail posting. This is Peter; out!
Thank you so much.
OK that was really heartwarming with Gio. I hope he gets into the profession when he grows up. Love to see all the inspiration and passion in this.
I watched this several times. It is so special. I have a special bond with the conductors on an Amtrak route.
That was enjoyable to watch! Just returned from a Philly trip exploring some SEPTA lines. Seen lots of engineer trainees qualifying on the head end.
Mr. Horn Guy, I really enjoy your videos, particularly of the LIRR. My first job out of high school was as a Tour Guide at the New York Transit Museum. My mentors there were twin brothers John and Arthur Erlitz. John was a retired Laser Technician and transit fan. Arthur, as I remember, actually was a retired Subway Motorman, and like John, was himself a transit fan. I would have loved to just sit and listen to the three of you talk about trains. My only request is that you keep up the AWESOME work on your Channel!
Great interaction between railroaders!! Nice ride!! Thanks Tim👍👍💚💚
This was a great show to watch! Thank you!
When I commuted from Hoboken to Mahwah in the early 1970's, the coaches were retired Stlillwell's from the Erie Limited. Few windows opened, and no bathrooms, all the way to Port Jervis.
Paul is a great person, Metro North’s Greatest !!! Love ❤️ this video !!!
These videos give me great joy and makes me laugh.
What a great video.Such joy.
Paul is a celebrity
You are my favourite train content creator on RUclips
Wow, thanks! Appreciate that
Channel 7 News just posted a story about Paul. It's on the Eyewitness New website and app.
Thanks for the heads up. Just saw it. I said before, Metro North is lucky to have him.
Good evening from Florida Tim. Really enjoyed this video listening to conductor Paul He's so entertaining and good to see engineer trainee Bill from SEPTA again this was a great video. I had a cheese steak from Jersey Mike's tonight lol Hope Paul enjoys his cheesesteak. Watching your two other new videos right now. As always great job. Oh by the way I should have got the answer to that Amtrak question I'm in Orlando about 50 mi from Lakeland
This was a great video. It was nice to see them interact and speak on their jobs. Some differences and some same ❤
Paul was on the news tonight on WABC
In the video conductor Bill mentioned no toilets on Septa trains. There is an article in todays Phil Enquirer about why no toilets.Cost and shorter distances seems to be the reason.
I found that out the hard way riding Septa into Philadelphia 🤦♂️
What a great video! The only thing that would have made things better is if this was all done on a set of M3A.
The Fox affiliate morning news had Paul on this am (Feb 26). Fantastic!
Paul should be an engineer. He certainly loves blowing his own horn. 😂😂😂😂
Paul you da’ best.👍🏽😎🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃
1:47 just like a cartoon, perfect distance for a meet up
Tim, I remember the R110Bs!!!
that man voice is legend jajajaj I ride the husdon line in the morning peak peak peak gm lady’s & gentleman
Great conductor
23:23 I’ve ridden that bridge before on my trip to Stamford last summer. Never knew the Hudson line was right under it.
1:57 that dap was immaculate
I remember the R1 airport trains. Rode a few.

Right on Paul! On all counts!
Paul is a legend. Loved his rhymes!
2:23 Yours truly
He gave you an enthusiastic response.
Miles in Transit did a video about taking SEPTA between the two CWs.
It would be epic if Miles in Transit met Train Man Paul.
CSX just got the contract for the Eddystone power plant. Woodbourne is getting more BNSF power then I have seen in a while.
Let’s gooo!!
It happened legendary
Love Paul! Did yall see the article about him?
Yes I did
The youngster has an Erie-Lackawanna pin!😅
Tim, SEPTA charges Zone 4 (like Thorndale or Doylestown) fares to PHL, when the airport is in Zone 1 or 2.
i would love to meet him
It's the Port Authority that charges the premium for AirTrain, not NJT.
Greed

💯
I saw Paul on 703 & 724
Let's see a Bill SEPTA run with Paul riding there and you videoing that.
Hey just want to say awesome video and Conductor Paul is a master
And have you ever thought of Railfanning at Bound Brook NJ
It's way better than Union
Tons of faster trains, CSAO doesn't have to share with NJT, plus you get another line called the port secondary
Bound Brook is probably the best hot spot in New Jersey or one of the best in the east Coast
Anyway nice video
I second Bound Brook, except for the "Brat Patrol" that frequents that station.
@@OldsVistaCruiser You trying say bound brook has a lot of negative beats and toxic kids and stuff
If so I agree
@@NS1221Productions - Especially the toxic kids and the one Cult45 mom.
Don’t forget the A train takes you directly from JFK to Brooklyn and Manhattan since the 50’s
In a matter of speaking. I think there was a time there was no bus from Howard Beach to JFK but at least now you can ride by rail all the way.
GCT!!!
I brought my nephew onto NJT. The Conductor made him a horse out of the chit.
0:24 needs to be your new intro so everyone knows 😂😂😂
Btw when can we possibly catch Paul on a train in NYC?
His schedule varies. He’s usually on the Metro-North Hudson line trains to Croton Harmon from 5 AM to 2 PM.
Just a suggestion, why don’t you explain and discuss the unique voltage and cycles system used for trains in your area. Where are the 11kV, 25 hertz generators and what is the history of their development. Love your videos. Very relaxing, like riding the train. Like watching golf or a baseball game on a Sunday afternoon.
Not into electronics.
Dalessandro's in Roxborough
I know why Conductor Paul likes the Hudson line.He is waiting for Ian to ride.We know what’s next.
Can't believe in a couple more years this will eventually be underwater. I wonder what the MTA is gonna do man.
Did anyone hear about the SEPTA train that was routed onto non electrified track.
I heard. Unfortunate
When did you met Bill for the first time?
January 2023
And when did you met Conductor Pual for the first time?
When was the first time you railfaned the Long Island Rail Road?
When I was 2
@ 2022
Here's a question, maybe the New York guys or somebody can answer. Why is there 7 Acela Avelia Train sets still setting idle at Amtrak's 30th st. Penn rail yard in Philly? Anybody know ?
They are still testing them, but they have not been given authority by the FRA to run them in revenue service. hopefully in 2025 I will have that authority
How long it took bill to get to engener ?
About a year
Jesse pelts my old student
Hey Tim would you introduce me to gio I think he would love my videos
You damn democrat
Proud to be!!!!
