    One of the first "Mods" I did for my M8 Fat Boy 114, wasn't really a mod per say but, was a significant adjustment.
    I got my bike lift out, lifted the bike up straight and level and up just enough that I can turn the tire but if i left it there it wouldn't swing around.
    And then I sat on the seat and pulled out my T25 and T27 Torx bits and ratchet and 1/4inch hex bit and I adjusted the Bar position, Lever position, and got it all dialed in to what felt good. Then I ride around for an hour stopping here and there to slightly loosen something and then tap it up or down until it felt right when riding it. Made a huge difference.
    2nd big one was Oberon Adjustable Levers. HD's should come with adjustable levers from the factory but the Oberons let me move the levers in just a bit and separately so I could get a real good grab on the brake and clutch levers and made it comfortable to do so. As a woman hands our hands are smaller and not as strong. So those stock levers can be a real difficulty.
    3rd... Horn Trigger. That horn button is hard to reach without smacking other stuff. Chrome Horn Trigger was great.
    4th Extended Turn Signal Switch buttons. Those should be STANDARD. it made using my turn signals way easier, And HD's turn signals are already better than other manufacturer's bikes too. With those extended turn signal caps, HDs have the best turn signals in the industry.

      Hi Fran,
      Those are some really well thought out mods. I especially like how you worked at getting the handlebars just right.
      Agree with you on the signals too. It has been so long since I spent any significant time on a non-Harley, it is easy to forget how non-intuitive the turn signal buttons are.
      Yeah, that horn button can get lost in a hurry, especially when you really "need" it.

    On my 2017 FLHTK I instantly changed the handlebar to a +2” Stainless Flanders OEM style, next thing was to get a 2015 OEM Roadking Seat with the detachable backrest. As a 6feet 4” guy the factory position was horrible but riding for almost 50 years I exactly knew how to solve it and on the newer models you don’t even have to extend anything…how sweet is that 👍🏻. Getting a 9” tall Smoked and smooth-shaped Windshield also added a lot of great comfort, for me that height is excellent to “hide” behind if needed and at lower speed you can still stick your head up and look ahead. For me Highway Pegs is so-so, even with my long legs I have over the years found out that the right seat beats any HW Pegs,.. I just move my feet around on the floorboards that works for me. A Hogwatch Key Fob around my wrist so I never have fear loosing it has over time been another great investment in Comforting my rides…strongly recommend it 😜. Thanks for another great video Guys,..can’t wait for the season to start 🇺🇸☠️🛠

    I added a Captain Itch leather heat shield to keep the heat off my legs. Then a Jims Force Flow fan after watching your video on the trike to keep the engine cool since I knew I changed the airflow with the heat shield. Also bars and heated grips.

    Ok, I’m totally there with the floorboard extensions, but really, those extensions (as far as comfort goes) void the need for a narrower air cleaner…. I smell a sales pitch😂

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  2 года назад

      Listen carefully, Dwayne mentions why he likes the extra room afforded by the low profile A/C. What works for him does not necessarily work for someone else. If you get the floorboard extensions, You may be able to run a fatter A/C and not have it interfere at all. 🙂

      @@DKCustomProducts I just thought it was an odd choice to put in the top 5…. Also, just so you know, I listen carefully and I don’t post till after I’ve watched your video. Please don’t take it the wrong way… it seems you guys do that on a regular basis with my posts… it’s ok if one of the main outcomes is selling product, I don’t mean to sound as though that’s a bad thing.

    • @DKCustomProducts

      That is one option, and it works well. Many folks don't feel the need to do anything, others use an extended length shift peg, like the ones pictured at this link- www.dkcustomproducts.com/extended-iso-shift-peg-chrome-rubber-cushioned-harley-davidson-dk-iso-sft-ext.htm

    DK Custom Products are awesome - I pretty much have every comfort recommendation listed on my 2020 Heritage. Only thing I'd like to see (someday) is a tank lift for the 2020 Softails - anything in the works?

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  Год назад

      We will have the M8 Softail tank lift live on our site beginning of next week!
      Not all M8 Softails are built to accommodate a tank lift.
      If your tank ears are under your triple tree your tank can not be lifted.
      If your tank ears are behind your triple tree you will be able to use a tank lift and you will just need to check for clearance to see what size you would like to get-
      1. With bike on kickstand, take the bolt out of the front of your tank.
      2. Loosen (do not remove) the bolt(s) at the rear of your tank.
      3. Turn your handlebars all the way to the left and raise the tank up your desired lift height to check for clearance issues.
      4. Turn your handlebars all the way to the right and raise the tank up your desired lift height to check for clearance issues.
      Be careful when lifting your tank, you do not want to hit against something (forks, handlebars, trees, blinkers, etc.) when checking for clearance.
      Thank you for your comment and for your business. I am so glad that you are liking all of your parts!

    I had an '18 ultra limited and to get a better ride I traded it in. It was too expensive to start throwing money at it to hopefully fix the shortcomings.
    I still don't have my road King since the dealer is 13-15 Thousand over what MSRP is.

    Hey Kevin just wondering why you guy's don't offer a vented dipstick or transmission cover for m8 and what is your thoughts on the exclusive crank case pressure?

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  2 года назад +1

      Venting the dipstick or trans cover reduces the amount of hot, oily, oxygen depleted air going into the intake, but it does not eliminate it. With an External Breather System, as shown in the video link below, relieves ALL Crankcase pressure, and Completely Eliminates the hot, oily, oxygen depleted air from going into the intake.
      So why pay for, and install, both? The EBS does everything....for 98% of the bikes.
      On M8's, especially-
      The early years with the old oil pump
      Engines with bad cylinders, and/or rings
      Engines with mods that produce a higher compression ratio
      Those bikes may have more crankcase pressure than can travel thru the channels to the breather bolts.
      In those cases, it would be best to fix the underlying problem, then there is no excessive Crankcase pressure.
      But, if one chooses to not fix the problem, the bandaid of a vented dipstick or trans cover, with an EBS, will hold them til they can fix the underlying problem.

    I have the new street Bob with mids. I wish I could find I kit to move it forward just a few inches, because the forward controls are not comfortable for me.

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  2 года назад

      I thought there were Further Forward Mid Control kits that moved everything forward 2-3 inches.
      Another thing we have had some Customers do and be quite pleased with...
      It gives them more room for their feet, be able to stretch out if they want, or tuck in if they want.
      But, it does not move the actual controls.
      There's a bunch of photos of them on different bikes at this link- www.dkcustomproducts.com/chrome-floorboards-mid-or-forward-mount-sportster-dyna-softail.htm

    For colder days, or longer rides - a windshield is one of the most important items to improve comfort. Yeah, they don't look great, but many today can look decent and they do make the ride better for long highway rides and/or on colder days.
