Yes this is 100% true. I've seen bullying, misogyny, break shenanigans, OHS risks, drunks (in metro areas), abuse from road users, sexual harassment, petty jealousy from longer serving TC's. Kinda like working in a bar, but in the burning sun and without reliable shifts.
Looking into a career change into TC safety is my passion..everything you have shared is pretty much in every job...thank you for sharing some insight in a female just doing what comes naturally making ends meet & looking out for others. All the best.
Your never boring. You would make a great Traffic control trainer or even a police woman. Just dont share your personal life as potential employers can hear it. The best company I had worked for was Altus. Very professional, very reliable. It's all just a matter of if you work well with the teams you are allocated to. Just do a job search for you state and find what companies are hiring at the time and go from there. Once you have been placed and finished your practice hours, away work has always been the best paying money.
