    If you played in a higher register you’d hear the difference between the Muff and Tonebender settings. You get different sound higher on the neck. You can get some upper octave things going on.
    Also some of these settings sound better through a dirty amp.
    Not everything is made to work with a clean timeless amp.

    Great way to test the pedal. One of the best that i've seen here on youtube. cheers

    Thanks for doing this, the lack of information about this line of pedals is puzzling. Given the fact that they take the idea of jhs' Pack Rat, Mufletta and Bonsai and boil it down to the 4 most usable variants per circuit-typology for less than 1/4 of the price (at least here in Germany via Amazon) should be a no brainer for everyone. However, the quality control is a problem. I ordered the Rat and the Fuzz and I can confirm, there should be and there is in fact a very noticable difference in sound between the Big Muff and Tonebender in my pedal. Actually, I was so happy with my purchase, I ordered the Mosky's M-Series Version of the DOD 250 and the Timmy/Jan Ray. The Jan Ray is fine and a lot of fun but the 250 just sounds broken on all settings with the low switch set do down position (low frequencies pronounced). With the switch up, the Germanium setting sounds best yet not totally awesome. But I bet there is someone w hose 250 sounds killer !

      My pleasure! 😊
      Most of the weird choices made by Mosky with regards to this new 'M' series, can be explained with their clear intention to save money so they can keep prices low.
      I think it's great that beginners and broke guitarists can all get a little taste of the "boutique" style of pedals on a budget, however personally I'd be happier with an extra 20 quid added onto the price, if it meant we got a bit more tonal range and versatility, plus a manual of course!
      I've got their 250 pedal on the way soon, so I'm sure I'll experience the same issue you mentioned. Haha!
      Thanks for watching!

    The tone bender is based on a specific tone bender (I believe the Jumbo) that is actually very close to a big muff.

    Good demo, thanks. I got mine today and am enjoying it. Lots of options to get a usable sound.

    Is the boost mode maybe supposed to be treble booster? Would make sense - Iommi/B-May distortion sounds

    I just double checked: The difference between the Pi and Tonebender preset becomes a lot more noticable as soon as you drive the gain / sustain over 3 o' clock. Try it, put the gain on max and switch back and forth between the modes. Its not day an night of a difference but it sure does "something". 2:10

    • @PedalExperiments
      @PedalExperiments  Год назад +1

      I'm glad you can hear a subtle difference, but I'm afraid I can't. 😄
      I don't mind either way, to be honest. It's just a great, all-round fuzz.

    Olá. O meu BigFuzz também tem esse problema ou defeito nos modos 1 (big muff) e 2 (Tonebender). Os dons parecem iguais / idênticos. Não acontece sequer o clipe quando muda o botão de modos (assim como acontece quando se muda do 2 para o 3 ou do 3 para o 4). Parabéns pelo vidro.

    I have this pedal and was looking forward to the tonebender setting but looks like its based on a supa tonebender as thats more muff-like, not like the mk* i was hoping for.
    There is the tiniest difference between the pi and tonebender settings on this pedal but you need the hearing of a dog to hear the difference 😂

      The Supa Tone Bender mod adds back in a ton of bass by removing a cap and a pair of clipping diodes but it's very amp-dependant whether you'll notice it. Great for bass though.

    Hey, how do you edit the pedal without playing the guitar. What kind of looper is that? Can all loop pedals do that?

    • @PedalExperiments
      @PedalExperiments  8 дней назад

      Yes, as long as the looper is feeding into the pedals, not at the end of the signal chain, where you'd usually put it.

    Maybe the difference between 1 and 2 mod is just a little bit of Medium frequencies (2 mod seems to have more med freq than the 1) but maybe i'm wrong

  • @terryenglish7132
    @terryenglish7132 Год назад +2

    Maybe there's a backwards diode or some other screw up like Joyo's OCD clone which had a non-working clipping section for 1 setting.

    Some good points to this pedal, but that mode dial may as well not be there.

    • @PedalExperiments
      @PedalExperiments  Год назад +1

      Yeah, I wish it had the range of the mode knob in some of the others I've tried in this range.

    • @PostColorGear
      @PostColorGear Год назад

      I have the OCD one and the mode dial also basically does nothing. I opened the back of the pedal (it's fairly cheap, why not?), and the soldering job doesn't look that great, and is probably why these pedals are acting like they do. So. I guess they're a good deal if you get a good one. But otherwise, hope that someone didn't mess something up during the manufacturing process, it seems.

    • @PedalExperiments
      @PedalExperiments  Год назад +1

      I demoed that one a few weeks ago, and didn't notice that issue. I'm guessing you're right. Quality control on pedals at this price point was never going to be that great. 😒

    Exactly the same thing on the tonebender setting for me. Overall that rotary switch feels like bass cut options, then removing most of the circuit in the last option. From what I have read a tone bender and big muff aren't really the same circuit anyway, so I shouldn't have expected so much but it shouldn't have promised so much.

    • @PedalExperiments

    • @brandonlong2314
      @brandonlong2314 Год назад +2

      I think that the Tonebender is based on the Supa Tonebender which unlike most tonebenders, was an early clone of the Rams Head Big Muff. I too was hoping for a MkII or something like that, but this one is almost exactly the same sound as setting #1. This is a very good Big Muff circuit though and I'm happy with mine despite that issue. I do wish someone would analyze the circuit and figure out what's what in the circuitry in lieu of an official manual.

    • @PedalExperiments

    hello everybody, the tonebender mode doesn't work..

    • @PedalExperiments
      @PedalExperiments  Год назад

      Haha! The general info I'm getting from people, is that the ToneBender version that this is modeling, is very close to a big muff anyway. So that's why there's almost no perceivable difference between these modes.
