'Too arrogant to be intimidated" this has always resonated with me.
Racial discrimination thrives where there is consent from both the oppressed and the oppressor.
No one can stop us from uniting( unless we allow them to)
No one can stop us from gaining knowledge of self. (unless we allow them to)
no one can stop us cooperating to build our own businesses and create our economy (unless we allow them to)
Rather than listening to some gangster-or mumble rap crap I am hear listening to a great teacher Dr Naim Akbar. That's is a CHOICE I am making. No one can tell me that we don't have choices , we do! The world may be jacked up but there are some things in our lives that we can control. We have personal responsibility.

I too grew up in a completely Black world, and I am thankful for that. I grew up seeing Black men and women love one another, majority of my teachers were Black, and I seen Black professionals everywhere so I never thought of my skin color being a curse. It is very important that Black boys and girls grow up in predominantly Black areas because Black self-love is automatically acquired living in these areas, no need to learn or search for it.

phil and cedric did seminars at morehouse which led to akbar taking the issue to american black psychology. journal of black psy. voodoo or iq, an intro to black psychology. it was wade nobles, phil mcgee, cedric clarke and his self that did work and gave birth to what african psychology was about. abpsy was akbars intellectual home. he's never attended an apa. phil neither. he saw abpsy as being the legitamate organization. never been interested in proving his legitimacy to white people. he said, the greatest challenge the black community faces is knowing, accepting and appreciating who they are as a people. he wanted to build institutions that reflect the best of what they wanted to be and that blacks spend too many time serving institutions that do not work for them. they could build on scholarships for black people.

if you have the arrogance, the confidence in who you are, you could gain the respect of the entire world to respect your right to define you for you. if we develop that kind of confidence, if we develop that kind of little liberation, the drug problems disappear. the family problems disappear. the economic problems disappear. every problem we have that is a part of the symptomatic of the persistent social problems are a result of mental slavery.
