Jomboy sucks. He doesn’t know the rules and has an annoying voice. His videos have too many dumb edits and he drones on an on about pointless topics, always missing the important parts of a play. No idea why people worship him.
The rule is that if at the time of a tag attempt, the runner changes their basepath by more than three feet, they are to be called out. Batter runner was on the infield side of baseline when defense starts attempt to tag and winds up stepping on runner's lane line which is 3 ft from baseline. So batter runner had to have deviated his path by more than three feet. Good call.
Actually at the time the tag was attempted he had already moved into the lane. Making it not more than 3 feet at the tag attempt. Simply running at the runner is not a tag attempt.
As a Brewers fan, oh how we miss Counsell...not!
Can’t wait for the Jomboy coverage. Go brewers

If Ortiz didn't start out running on the infield grass it wouldn't have appeared to be such big move to the right to avoid the tag
He was running within the freaking batters line that they force batters to run in if the fielder is trying to make a play..
This was a terrible call
As a Brewers fan, it was borderline. I love the bunting but if he ran farther outside it's a hit for sure.

It was the correct call. The running lane has nothing to do with this play.
More idiot announcers. The running lane has nothing to do with this play.
