    Good review and cracking bit of kit. I have the same but recently I have found I can't connect the lance hose to the main body of the pressure washer. It just will not push and click in at all. I've tried both ends and it's the same. But it goes into the actual lance ok. 🤷

    • @RussellPlatten

      I love the Go P55. I find myself using it more and more because it is just so easy! Literally pick it up and go. I was also sent the Ava Master P80 the review and this is a great pressure washer too. I have used two Karcher pressure washers over the years that I paid for myself, the K4 and after that the K7. The P55 is more powerful than the K4 which I used for a number of years. I cannot see any noticable difference in the patio with either the P55, P80 or K7. The P55 and P80 are better than the K7 in my opinion. If I could only pick one, I think I would choose the P55 because it is so easy and convenient. A couple of months ago I said the P80 when someone else asked a similar question, but since then I have used the P55 for a few smaller jobs that would not have got done if I only had the P80. All the accessories are on the machine and it is a joy to use! :-)

    According to their site, 140 bar is the *maximum* pressure which is usually a useless metric since it only lasts a second. What's the sustained (continuous) bar pressure? That makes it easier to compare with other machines in terms of cleaning power.

    • @RussellPlatten
      @RussellPlatten  2 года назад

      They all report the maximum possibe pressure. The Ava Go P55 impressed me and I use it regularly. You can see how well it performs in the video. :-)

    • @TwinbeeUK
      @TwinbeeUK 2 года назад

      @@RussellPlatten In the manuals, you get the sustained pressure too, and that can differ wildly from the max according to the make and model. I feel sad manufacturers can get away without stating the sustained pressure on the main box/advert/product page.

    • @RussellPlatten
      @RussellPlatten  2 года назад +1

      Unfortunately there are quite a few variables and it depends on what is attached to the gun. :-)

    • @TwinbeeUK

      @@RussellPlatten True, but it helps to narrow the choices down and make it a bit less wrong ;) Really we need an third party to set up a standard to compare and rate these things.

    Thanks - I was looking at a new AVA Go P55 or stretching to the Master P60. It’s an extra £100 for a bit more pressure / water delivery, and extra warranty. What would your thoughts be? Or save a lot and get a Nilfisk!

    • @RussellPlatten
      @RussellPlatten  2 года назад +2

      It is a difficult question to answer Andrew. I love the Go P55. I used it a couple of days ago to clean my cars. The P55 is small, very portable and delivers plenty of pressure for most home jobs. It is my goto tool for smaller jobs that are not over large areas. I used a Karcher K4 for years and that had a lower discharge pressure than the P55. I also have the Master P80 and this is a very good machine. It is way bigger than the P55, but reasonably easy to boule around and delivers more pressure. I prefer the P55 because it is so easy to pick up and carry to the job site, but if I am working on a large area I use the P80. I have never noticed a major difference in the results for higher pressures. The finish is a little better, but not enough to make a major difference. If I had to chose only one it would be the P80 because I have a very large area of patio to clean. I suppose it is a case of "horses for courses!" Sorry I rambled on a bit! :-)

    • @andrewhindle4291
      @andrewhindle4291 2 года назад

      @@RussellPlatten thanks Russell.
      I’ll probably go with the P55 given I’ve got a relatively small patio and save the extra money over the Master! I was tempted by a Nilfisk Core 140 but they seem to get hit and miss reviews.

    • @RussellPlatten

      I do not see why you would need another gun as the one supplied is fine for everything you want to do with the power washer. :-)

    • @cooltechno360
      @cooltechno360 2 года назад

      @@RussellPlatten It was only to speed things up as the quick release fittings are slightly easier to release, also it would mean that I wouldn't have to adapt my foam lance again. Just keep seeing so many pro car detailers hyping them up too. Anyway, thanks for the reply! :)

    Should the high pressure,turbo nozzle rattle?

  • @ytmachine4983
    @ytmachine4983 2 года назад

    Hi, is the turbo nozzle is more efficient that Karcher turbo nozzle ?

    • @RussellPlatten
      @RussellPlatten  2 года назад +1

      The CEO of Ava told me, during an email discussion regarding the turbo nozzle, that they had redesigned it to maximise efficiency. They use an aluminium insert instead of a plastic tube which reduces friction and that when fitted to the lance, the collar should be used to lock it. Clamping the nozzle further increases the effeicency by up to 10% as vibration is reduced.
      I think that Ava have spent a lot of time getting the best out of their products and I am very impressed with the two machines I have reviewed. They are much better and cheaper than Karcher machines and have no fancy gimmicks like an app or electronic display on the gun - these are just a way to increase the price with no real added value to the customer. I think Ava will do very well over here once they are established and the extended guarantee is brilliant! :-)
