You'll never see another comeback like Foreman's as he was ridiculed by everyone in the sport until about the time he almost killed Gerry Cooney... then at 45 to win the title again after loosing almost every round to Michael Moorer... the stuff of absolute legend that like Nolan Ryan's no-hitter and strikeout records will never be broken...
One of the greatest fights I've ever seen. It's insane how much punishment Foreman takes. It seems as if Holyfield's punches do not hit as hard as they seem to be hitting.
This is by far one of the best fights of the 1990s. Foreman and Holyfield went all out in a slugger match in which both opponents won something by the end. Holyfield won the fight (fair and square), and Foreman proved he was still a legitimate contender for the heavyweight title at over 40 years old. The best fights bring out the best in both men, and this fight does just that.
Damn. George was super slow but still formidable for his age. I wonder what would happen if young George had the experience and mind old George, only if. And Holyfield had a chin, that's for sure. He took some blows from big George. Looked ripped as hell also.
George's defense was "I'll just eat your punches" and the problem was that he didn't have the ability to load up his shots. If 5-7y younger, George would've knocked him out cold.
Not 100% sure. Holyfield was tough and cagey as hell. Yes young Foreman was an absolute monster no doubt about it. But Holy stepped in the ring with Lewis, Tyson, Bowe and battled them all without fear. Beat two of them. Plus Holyfield was not really a swarmer like Joe Frazier who George destroyed. He could move well and was a great counter puncher. Not sure Holy would have been an easy night even for young Foreman.
Mario how you been my brother? Foreman was/is fun to watch. What is sort of disturbing is knowing what we know about Holyfield and his secret punch (forehead) we can look for it and he is blatantly using it. It’s odd considering what a nice guy he is outside the ring you would think that he wouldn’t be a dirty fighter but he was as dirty as they come.
@@mariosanchez8236 very true!! He was throwing the D around everywhere!! I remember why I hated Merchant. The amount of disrespect he showed George was tiresome. I can’t believe that the HBO producers let him get away with it. The fact that he went on and won the title against Moorer must’ve felt pretty sweet. I know why he was so rude and ignorant towards Merchant when he was on the broadcast now. What do you think about last weekend with Canelo?? The judges tried to make it close but in the end they couldn’t. The Charlo fight this weekend should be good unless he puts up a stinker.
@@Obiamajoyisrmd The poster is referring to Holyfield's head. There are those who would say Holyfield should have had a third glove on top of his head as he used it pretty frequently
Except Young Foreman was almost a drooling moron, and as much as I want to, I can't take old Foreman's head and put it on young Foreman's body. And at this point, I doubt Holyfield was juicing as Michael Spinks and Roy Jones Jr. took the same Holyfield did and stayed around the 200-206 range.
This is the best and toughest fight I've ever seen. How many punches can they take. Crazy enough action for 10 fights
lol this was nothing watch ibeabuchi vs tua for some real tough action
this fight is one of the most one sided fights ever
This is great. Thanks so much for posting this! :)

To think that just one of these punches would rip my head off, and see just how many they can take. That's insane. What a fight !

Id say this was Holyfields peak. The combos and the form in which he landed them were as perfect as could be.

He coun't even knock down at 40 years old
I wonder how they remaster the video quality to make it look this well.
ESPN has access to the original footage. This was taken from an ESPN replay
@@mariosanchez8236 ok Thank You. yea didn’t espn buy a large boxing film archive from Bill Cayton and used those fights for espn classic
27:17 anyone knows what defence that called? So amazing slippery but its risky
Cross arm defense
The ringside commentary sucks.
