    amp hour rating definitely affects voltage sag. Also, the gauge of wire used to the speed controller and motor will affect it as well. As current is increased voltage will drop. lowering the resistance will lower the voltage drop.

      Well it’s gearing, stronger batteries and a good way to send that power to the motor. If you have an XLX2 be careful on gearing. The Max5 can be pushed hard but it just won’t send the power.

    Okay 2 questions for you or the community.. 1st why run the higher tooth count on the truck? 2nd, what bearings do you use/ maintenance do you perform with all the sand running? I go threw them a lot without sand.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  4 года назад +2

      Bearings are a wear item, just about all of them will fail, the Vitavon hubs I have on this one uses much larger bearings and they hold up great. The bigger pinion is because the motor can pull it and its lower KV, but not really that much lower than the 1200kv stock motor.

    I'm a 3.5 guy in bashers. For the reason you said, not being cheap, and you get more cycles/longer life span out of them. I've got a couple venoms I've been running for four years. I'll sacrifice four or five minutes of run time if it means batteries last this long.

      It's simple. He's running a 75k rpm motor over 100k rpm with full batteries and then using max brake. He's even figured out how to replicate it. The speed controller is becoming shorted when the energy created from the braking can't go back into the batteries. The hobbywing units he's running have an rpm limiter function in their software so the motor is spinning at nearly 1/3rd the rpm... this is what Senor Holmes has said he experienced with custom motors and controllers on ebikes.
      .
      You can literally hear the short happen as it hits the brake aggressively.

    I’m having a problem with my 8s Xmaxx. When I put it back together I’m getting a gear grind in the spur shaft gear cover. If I tighten it all the way down it binds if I loosen the screws it’s smooth. But then that gear has way too many play . Any chance you had experience with this problem ?
