Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

Do a multiplayer Monday challenge where you and 3 others make a 1/4 of a hide and seek map. Once everyone is done building you join them together. Teaming is allowed, but you cannot hide in the section that you built. However you can show others where a good spot is. Depending on how big the map is moving could be allowed or you can play sardines.

I think that you not hiding your real name was an additional entertaining factor of this video. It's always fun to watch how people react or will they even recognize or acknowledge famous influencer.

What make's a influencer doesn't matter much, I think you're generally thinking of an influencer in other social media platforms which their terms can differentiate. You tend to hear the word content creator more here being used

I can't help but to wonder if they still had the faulty version with the faulty back left fin controls and never realized it...? Scrap found and fixed the error but we never see if the other person does or not, and I can't tell if Scrap ever thought about that or not.
This is a very wholesome video. I can tell Scrapman feels somewhat awkward about how much people know him, but it’s cool to see you spend time with the community. I guarantee you made a lot of these people’s day especially when they saw this video. Scrapman you are a huge reason this community is as friendly as it is.
The functionality of the swept wing plane was actually amazing
That second server dogfight honestly was very entertaining, it felt very friendly and rather fun to be in, and they did tell you about the wing sweeping

I have not seen a fake scrapman in 573 hours of playtime in trailmakers

In my 2300 hours ive seen a couple
Within the 58000 hours of playing trailmakers I was scrapman once
in my 150 h i have seen several in the same one

freshkillz really took your mindset of MAXIMUM REDUNDANCY to a whole different level. I bet he had armor panels on everything and inside was a billion 1x1x2 blocks.
I kinda have my own personal rules for dogfighting. I’m fine with Gyro roll, but Gyro pitch is no-no in my book cus it can be abused, however using gyros with no inputs to use as pitch dampeners I’m fine with.
Also “nose-fins” are called Canards.
To make a good plane without gyros, try to get the center of vertical drag to be right behind the center of mass. Also I often use logic to toggle canard/thrust vector controls so I can choose between low maneuverability/high stability and high maneuverability/low stability.
Also a pro tip to have more stable roll: Sneak in some oars into the wing, trust me it works. If you don’t have oars use one of the small paddles. Then cover it up with shield blocks cus it looks ugly, trust me it really helps with roll stability.
yeah full gyro controls for aerodynamic fliers just seems way too cheesy
I'm fine with rolling if it's something you just need. But gyros for pitch is way too op. They just become a flying turret at a point.
@ Plus being able to do post stall maneuvers with canards and thrust vectoring is way more fun and impressive than just rotating in place with a gyro.
I also use gyro for use stabilization when I make planes with no vertical tail fin, cus it’s basically needed for the plane to function.
Wait, if wings dont generate lift when covered, doesnt the same apply for stability of the paddle/oar? (Yes if you didnt know wings will generate less lift the more you cover up the top/bottom surface)

This was a really cool video. I thought it was really cute with some of the builds and different skill levels we saw on display. I really liked the plane with the variable sweeping of wings, so that'd be neat to see you and Yuzei dogfight with something like that.
Tip for building blaster weapons: if you have 6 blasters, set the first one to 0.00 delay, second one to 0.20 delay, third to 0.40 delay, and so on until you reach 1.00 delay. It will cause the blasters to never stop shooting.

That wing sweep would be really useful to use in a dogfight, maybe having a dogfight where wing sweep is the theme?
day 2 of Suggesting 2v2 or free for all "realistic" tank battle. By realistic, i mean the only allowed camera angles would be first person and via camera blocks (to represent vision ports and whatnot on a tank), and tank steering would be required. the rest of it would be up to the builder (turreted or casemate, etc)

I think it would be hilarious to see you enter lobbies and challenge people to fight you in the same vehicle as you and spawn some of your past overpowered builds.
Not only would that make it CRYSTAL clear who you are, it is apparently WAY different from how most people play.
The fact that I was thinking of this like 2 days ago...

Fighting the good fight:) Nice work holmes. Build Idea: Have you ever tried to build a hopper that can propel itself solely with hopping? Bi-pedal or quadra-pedal, like a cat or a dog running. The challenge is that it can only use sensors to trigger movement! No controls from the seat:) I found it an interesting challenge, and thought you might too:)
Great video! Thanks for sharing it Scrapman. A couple of ideas was sparked from watching it and I hope you can use them. 1) a hidden vertical stabilizer popping out when the main one gets shot off. 2) make your plane underwater capable so you can pop out for a surprise attack.🤪

Video idea: You made a lot of videos about braking the sound barrier...but what is the maximun speed that you can achieve after that?

The issue is that some of the "slower" engine types couldn't even reach their topspeed in the map area, that is they had potential to maybe actually be super fast, it would just take ages to reach top speed, far more than the map area allows, so just saying max possible speed, just doesn't work on a land map (and in space, it is quite litterally infinite, or at least untill you break the game
@@GummieI Can be made interesting by striving instead for max speed specifically within the confines of a non-space map. Or max controllable speed. Or aiming to build something that travels the same speed even while turning.
I love that you say I hope this video has earned a subscription. If I wasn't already subscribed I would have then just for the difference from the norm and for letting your work be the selling point instead of a reminder.

Scrapman needs to start utilising yaw; on further thought though, the auto-aim removes the necessity for yaw due to his flying style.

This is why you build your vertical stabilisers from many small parts insted of large or single ones, you know a lot about redundency but now you gotta lern a tiny bit more ^-^
Also i only started playing online since 3 days so kinda shame i did not run into ya
Also overall standard weapons is like 2-4 miniguns or blasters
I love the "random server" videos it's fun to see what's happening

Also, challenge Idea. I'd love to see a maximum complexity Mech battle. Wheels or legs, but it has to use arms with weapons on them, and have a cockpit for the pilot!
If that's the game where kan has been building engines then I saw pass. I don't want to watch someone construct an engine for 45 minutes

just finished the enitre show, it was nice
I never really got into trailmakers but I tried the campaign and found it to get dull after a while. I do, however, LOVE dogfighting in games. Flying in general but dogfights are fun and I always thought I was pretty decent at maneuvering around in unexpected ways. This video makes me a little sad I didn't get more into TMs and missed a chance to fight scrapman lol

Trail makers servers is just the most beautiful video game servers mostly when u dont runinto kids the server will be just some guys having fun and chating
Video idea: everyone go into a random server and ask them for their best plane/tank/whatever, and do a fight with them(basically the workshop battles but by joining random servers instead)

The guy who used shift for thrust is probably a KSP player. In that game left shift and left control are the keys to increase or decrease main throttle

Would be interesting to join random servers and do like a trick stunt horse challenge style. "Like I bet you can't use this rocket stick to go through this gap at 500 KPH."

Yeah six blasters is generally ridiculously overpowered in dogfight. I usually outright ban them when I run servers.

I use shift for boost/thrust, ground or air. Space means up (i.e. jump, vtol, or space flight)
I've got up to 6 different warbirds that'd be happy to meet you 😏Until then, I recommend some one-gun fun challenges... you'll find not only your bird, but your pilot is tested. 😈
tbf, there is a huge difference between talking with voice (to a camera or other people), and talking via text. I don't think anyone does those 2 things in the same way

What if you did a sort of surprise build competition where you go to random servers and check out people’s builds and out of the servers you visit, judge which one is your favorite
