Hi guys, Anatole on main account here, Holy shit, i never thought we'd get 41k views but here we are! Thanks guys! I do have some more stuff in the works here, mostly non fire alarm related things. Thanks again for watching and I hope you found the video enjoyable. Also a note to those commenting that I shouldn't have taken the elevators: A: This was cleared before filming the segment by a member of the hotel engineering and maintenance team B: It was known before the alarms went off that this was a test of the system and not a real fire, the alarm was only a mistake, as they were only supposed to do strobe testing. C: Even if the fire was real, it is ultimately my choice as to how I want to get out, that's just how I work
Zak Wolf has a video of the system at his middle school that had the same announcement with the female voice unfortunately it was replaced with some sort of Notifier voice evacuation system.
It's a pretty interesting one. I know it is a newer system as going by photos it seems this replaced an older Simplex voice evac system from the 2000s. In the lobby and on the 2nd floor they also have the wall mount speaker strobes rather than the ceiling mount ones. Not shown here but there are also small illuminated exit signs near the ground that only light up during a fire alarm near all the stairwell doors and elevators
They did page the building apologizing after the alarm, but not before. This particular hotel will send a text message a few hours before arrival to make any requests and confirm arrival time; they also mentioned, and I quote, "To ensure your safety at Omni Hotels, we are conducting our once yearly fire alarm system inspection around your arrival time, you may see flashing lights, but we will not be testing the audio until tomorrow later in the day. If you are sensitive to this, please do let us know so we can accommodate you, and we will be providing a free coupon for Morsels upon arrival for any inconveniences caused.". Being someone who is in hotel school and having interned at properties, we generally try to keep disturbing guests to a minimum, as setting off fire alarms is a very good way to gain some new one-star reviews. Generally, we try to do any activities that may disturb guests(fire alarm testing, building inspection, repairs, construction, repairing elevators, etc) at a time when there are not as many on-site, usually in the window between check in and check out time on weekdays.
@@Anatole2201Extras since this system is a voice evac system the hotel can easly use the fire alarm panel to page the whole building if they need to test the alarms
They were only going to do strobe testing the day of filming as this was filmed right at check in time and they were in the middle of hosting a decent size convention and didn’t want to disturb them. After the speakers went off they decided to just do the full test then and there rather than doing it another day.
That is correct haha, but nothing stops me from going to the service ones, which from experience interning in hotels usually don’t recall, most freights also don’t in hotels, I think it's expected most guests wouldn’t go looking for that stuff, but I'm Anatole and I tend to like to poke around a bit ;)

Do not use the elevator
This guy: *u s e s t h e e l e v a t o r*
Although it was a test or the elevators would have gone into Phase I and recalled all the elevators to the lobby.
haven't heard this version of the announcement in a hot minute

Neat System, Simplex TrueAlert Remote Speakers and Ceiling Mount TrueAlert Speaker Strobes and the panel is either a 4100U or a 4100ES.

@Welsken9110_Roblox Thanks, I was thinking it would be a 4100U since the system in place replaced an older system.
same with me when the apartment I live in does this with sound, it always say the fire inspection will trigger the alarms
