Same here, him and the innocent criminals carried me from my teenage years through my phases of life. He had lost me a bit with relentless 7. But this is the album I always wanted him to make. I love it....
Folk Music Center in Claremont is such a jewel. I took guitar lessons from Mrs. Chase, Ben Harper's grandmother, at Memorial Park. i think she taught half the town, spawned a full-blown guitar scene in the 1970s. I love what he's done with the legacy. very nice video.
@@silvabakx6396 love Rhino Records... use to sell the heck out of RRwhen I worked in distribution..... I loved they way they treat us artists as well..
Ben has written some of the best healing music ever. Been listening to him for about twenty years now, got all my friends listening to him back in the day too. I shall not walk alone and welcome to the cruel world are probably my favorites.
We flew from Sacramento to New Orleans just to see him and the band for one night and then flew home the next day. I'd do it again. F'ing love this man and they way his music makes life better.
I can make peace on earth with my own two hands. This piece of wood, gift of the earth, under the touching of your fingers offers a sweet melody of human mind.
I have been a die hard Ben Harper fan since 1992. And while not all of his songs/albums are "perfect" I cannot remember that any of his instrumental pieces were anything but amazing - ever! Thank you!!!
The use of the "other side of the string" in that high melody is really interesting! Makes a nice harmony and not something you hear often, at least not intentionally. Especially noticeable at 1:03
This brings back great memories of watching you play the slide live at the Greek theater NorCal many years ago. I wasnt aware your playing has evolved into this beautiful and eloquent sound. We are desperate to come together for concerts and hopefully we see you soon. Thank you Ben.
Growing up in upstate N.Y. I used to think that everybody had grand parents that were dairy farmers. It was 1970 and we spent some time up north on my grandparents farm that summer. My aunt Connie met a guy in college named Evin Harper and before we knew it they were married. Years later they are both retired teachers. When I think of Ben Harper I wonder if there is some distant relation to my uncle Evin. Either way, Ben's music brings me back to the idea that the music is out there and we just need to be daring enough to try it.
Been searching this track for about three years. First time I hearded it it was at an acoustic live of Ben, playing at the Fusine lakes here in Italy. It was raining a lot and he played two and an half hours. At the end of the live he said he had never played in such a beautiful place. One of my best concerts ever. Found with some luck two weeks ago. Listening to it with no stop since then
Even after 20+ years its still a complete pleasure to listen to Ben Harper play his music. His soul flows through his instrument and his music. It creates an apparition. Its incredible. Thank You
What a great last shot with all these instruments around!!!!!!!! I noticed a bouzouki too!!!! Greetings from Greece! You are great Ben...a great inspiration!
I came here simply to express my love for Ben Harper's music. I am forever grateful for all of it, and this album has not disappointed. I am still living through the changes. I thank all of you.
I listen to his music since i am a teenager. Carried me through anger, heartbreak and now...peace...
I don't really listen to Ben Harper anymore, but his music has also carried me through all that, and more! *

Yes, whenever I’m really down and out, I put on “glory and consequence” and am immediately in a good mood

Hey beautiful song bro
The patience and the hands of the luthier to work with wood and to find the sweet melody
That was a particularly nice specimen of a guitar. Very beautiful maple.

Sitting in my house with good headphones and felt the impulse to applause at the end of the song.
