So wing foiling is now a proper thing!! It's an official sport and I never thought that it would get the this point, we have seen so many people taking it up in the last months that is truly incredible. Bridging the gap between windsurfing, kitesurfing and sailing, it hits the nail on the head when it comes to attracting new participants in this epic pastime. So in this episode I head over to Sandown on the Isle of Wight to link up with Ross William and the crew from the Trade Winds Cafe and Wight Water to check out their new wing foiling school and the informally dubbed 'wing fest' that happened for the first time last week...

Setting up all the foil wing equipment, I take out the new @DUOTONEKiteboarding Slick 5m and my @FanaticBoardriding Sky Wing 95L board with the 1250 high aspect foil for a shred in the side onshore conditions that we got for the week. Big thanks to Jaime for the extra drone shots, it shows just how amazing this sport can be out on the open ocean...

As a intermediate kiter wanting to learn foiling would it be easier with kite or wing?
For sure learn to foil on a kite first I would say...
What go pro mount are you using on the wing segments dude was it a mouth mount?
I used the GoPro bite mount most of the time. Also a helmet mount sometimes

Cheers bro!! Nah I actually kited with my prone surf foil setup, but I have kited my wing setup before... it works, but isn’t so manoeuvrable
I do that often, yep not so maneuverable but it makes kitefoiling in much lower wind possible (compared to a normal no volume small foil kitefoilboard, in my case cabrinha double agent). Especially in combination with the single skin kite Peak 4, which can can fly in 2-3 knots. Was able to easily kitefoil in 4-5 knots with safetymargin with a 1600cm² gong veloce foil, 75L sky wing and an 8m² Peak 4. With this setup there is almost never not enough wind
