    I’m glad Cody included that little bit with his coach. One of the things I love about these videos is it’s not only great inspiration and motivation to get in the pool to do laps but also a good look into what the life of an “older” athlete is. I feel like most other athletes you see on social media are youngins (I say that as a 25yr old), and it’s more of the same. Cody’s life is a little different cause he’s also a husband and father of 2, I think that adds a little something…

    Do you guys think it is possible to do 100 freestyle and 100 medley in less than 1 minute, for a person who is not an athlete, who just trains every day for the love of the sport? I'm 28 years old, I've been swimming for almost 2 years... I'm doing 1:15 in the 100 freestyle and 1:20 in the 100 medley today, I have this goal of doing it in less than 1 minute in these two events, but I don't know if it's possible to achieve without being an athlete... just training 1 hour a day after work and studies

      of course, just by training a perfect efficient stroke and good walls should be enough to swim them in sub 1:00

    It's an end of an era b/c the trials are at a different venue? Sorry, but that's a bit of a reach.

      @esmee4401 6 месяцев назад

      In sports like swimming, it exciting as a swimmer to go to an event such as trials as you get to swim in pools that have so many memories and so many cool things have happened there!For example racing at the Aquatic Centre in London is awesome because of the history with the olympics. Changing pools for major events is bittersweet

    • @purselmer5931
      @purselmer5931 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@esmee4401 LOL, thanks for the explanation. Just to add some context, I've been a swimmer for decades and was an elite one a long time ago - earing a full ride for swimming at a D1 school. So I'm aware of the logistics. I think I share the same love of pools that Cody does - absolutely LOVE swimming in a new one. I just thought it was kind of "click baity." (And I know that's not a word, lol.) Have a great day! (Btw, I have not made it to the London pool, but would LOVE to, lol.)

      USA Olympic trials is the pinnacle of American swimming. The greatest achievement in 99.9% of USA swimming members careers would be qualifying for this competition.
      Omaha hosted this event for 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020.
      Moving to a larger venue in Indy is exciting and a wonderful move.
      I swam in every Olympic Trials in Omaha. This IS the end of an era, and the beginning of a very exciting future for lots of young AND old athletes.
      Period.

      @@CodyMillerAdventures Relax. And yeah, I swam at the Olympic trials too. Before you were born. And I'm not the only one who thought the "end of an era" meant something bigger: like you retiring (and yeah, we all know you're going through at least this Olympic cycle, but thought maybe something had happened). I put a hundred sweet posts about your videos (and esp. those babies) and only ever get a response from you when you're peeved. Geez, deep breath.
