OMG.....laughing out loud at Caleb pulling out the Starlink and the commentary but more so because we have the same travel box for ours and our Caleb's first priority is always the same thing...Starlink first then speed test.
We purchased the travel Berkey Water Filter system 3 years ago, best safest water everywhere we go!! Just fill it up with the water wherever we stop!! Feel better being able to give the two of us & our dog safe water!! The best for us!!
As a parent of a 21 year old who is always complaining about internet I laughed SOOOOOO hard at that point! We have family in the Mt. St. Helen area so we've explored there a few times...SO beautiful! This past May we were able to vist Mt Rainier in the DEEP snow...just too amazing. It's a National Park that needs more recognition.
If you think that’s a tight bridge try driving over the Sagamore or the Bourne bridges that span the Cape Cod Canal when you go to or from Cape Cod in Massachusetts. They were built in 1933-35 when vehicles were much smaller. You jusssssst fit! Yikes!!! Great video, beautiful scenery!
Up in my neck of the woods!I live and was born and raised in Vancouver Washington,I've been pretty much every where you went, except for the hike at Rainer 🤣😂😃 but looks like fun!thanks for the great videos and drive safe!!
Oh my, that was FABULOSO!!!! I have so much feedback , like “ No, don’t touch the trailer!” But I need to re-watch so I can take notes! Love, love, love this video! You have outdone yourselves….such beautiful scenery. ❤💜👍
I went thru that situation over Black Canyon Campground near Santa Fe, it was so tight that scratch my rv a little bit with the branches. Thanks God I found a site to spend the night.
Long time since I have commented but I am still one of the many or early ones to call Trish -- Resse Witherspoon, glad to see nothing has changed, thanks for providing laughs and values, always.
Yep! That Hood River Bridge is very narrow. I crossed in June in a Class A. Dry camped at the Elks Lodge in White Salmon. Beautiful view of Mt Hood from the deck. Stopped at Mt Rainer before all the roads were open. Made it to Paradise but couldn’t see the mountain. Your videos were great.
Last year we drove the Wind River highway from the Columbia River Gorge up to Randle Washington. The road condition was terrible. The road was so rough that the hitch pin broke pulling the hitch from the truck receiver and dropping the 10,000 lb trailer on the safety chains. A very good road to avoid.
Rainier was outside my kitchen window in Enumclaw for 7 yrs. St Helens is just north of my home since retirement in 2017. Welcome to my part of this world.
We just spent 11 days camping in a state park without cell service or Wi-Fi. We had to drive about 10 miles to a town to call for our messages. I read 4 books that I had thankfully downloaded.
Gee this was so much fun to watch. Charlie the guard dog on duty squirl patrol. Loved it. He is so loveable. Awesome hike but with COPD that would be something. I at one time saw Mount Ranier from the far away east side of Washington State. Never got a chance to go over there. Love the water falls and rivers as the water looks so good. Thanks and hug to Charlie. Love y'all
Welcome to Washington. It was neat to see you at the Campground and at the lower Lewis River Falls. I was born and raised and lived about 10 minutes away from the Lower Lewis River Falls most of my life. That was my swimming hole growing up. Our house was up on top of a hill and from our front porch we could see Mount Hood, Mount St Helens, Mount Adams, and Mount Rainier, If you ever get back in the area one thing I recommend is checking out the Ape caves it's not far from the falls. It's pretty cool it's about 2 miles of underground dried up Lava Tubes on the Southeast side of Mount St Helens.
Watching this made me homesick! I live in Missouri but grew up and spent most of my life in Western Washington! The funny thing is, 10 minutes before watching this I booked a flight to Arizona and thought of you all! (ps: I just signed up for E3 Camping).
I remember that day in May 1980. Camping with my parents at Lake Goodwin campground in Washington. 170 miles from Mount St Helens. Bright sunny morning and all we could hear was loud thunder booms. We all said, "oh no, is that Mount St. Helen's erupting?" It was. I was 15 at the time. Scared the crap out of me.
It's so stinking exciting to see y'all in my old stomping grounds!!! I've been to every single place you've shown and driven that "singing bridge" (what we used to call those types) several times. So exciting!!
Forest Service Road 25 is a wonderful road. The east side of Mt. St. Helens is great wilderness. Take Road 99 off of 25 to the Windy Ridge view point. It is best to take 25 at a slower speed due to bumps. Next time head southeast from Randle and go to Mt. Adams.
We stayed in Mt Rainier National Park called Paradis lodge ( no internet ) , it was beautiful. 2016 We enjoyed Washington and Oregon States. Route 101 hold on to your seatbelt. *You all went to Mt Rainier on my Birthday* *A day to Remember* !!
My Chihuahua/Pappillion goes full tilt with a squirrel, but the thing is they are as big as he is. He is a rat dog though, so bred to hunt rats and rodents.
Washington state is absolutely beautiful. I grew up going camping and loved it. I have been to several campgrounds in the Pacific northwest. Thanks to my grandparents instilling the love of camping.
** Caterpillar on flight walk at end ....*good filming 🎞️🎬🎥 there, Trish (ha, ha 😁). Spectacular "Mt. Rainer" .... as far as the height to see 👁️👁️ & walk trek to fabulous levels, amazing! 🚴 🚵 ⛰️🚶 There was just some crazy road driving challenges on mountainous terrain -- thanks for your 'family/friends' outing! 😎
Hello Mark, Trish, Caleb, & Charlie! Enjoyed seeing Mt. Reiner. Loved where you were camped at. Looked inviting. So nice to meet up with friends to hike. Looking forward to touring Drakes family's Airstream. (forgive me, I) I had to laugh when we were looking through the tree at Caleb getting the box out. That was good Mark! I liked seeing the falls. I hope you have a good week KYD!
My dad lived in Seattle when I was younger and we were at Mt. Rainier just about every weekend. I've made it to base camp just to check it out, but never summited! One of my absolute favorites!
Had a 24 ft travel trailer when we stayed at Rainier. Got next to last site and it was so sloped that it was all we could do to keep trailer from rolling forward after we unhitched.
Mt St Helens is my favorite hiking memory. So much fun with my friends and an awesome hike. Rainier is so majestic. It always makes me heart swell to see it when I’m heading south. Trish is like me. Mama Llama - I’m carrying everything I want. Now leave me alone. :) The MUG!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
We live about one hour south of Lower falls Forest Service Campground. It is a great place and that river has some of the best bull trout fishing around. If you just walk up the river and drop your line into the pool below the falls it will be Fish On all day long. Great video . Lower and upper loop has great spots and very peaceful. Hope you enjoyed our area!
We just got a camper this year and we are loving it! We have only tent camped before so we only got to go once or twice a year ! Now we can camp more often ! Our oldest boy is in college and we want to make lots of memories with the two littles we still have at home! It goes by too quick !!We love your channel! We love all the tips! We love how much you love your family ! Thanks for all the awesome videos! Thank you !!!
@@KeepYourDaydream just wondering is your truck stock height? In the seen with the eggs the truck is taller the Trish. Comes up to the guys shoulders. Was it just the camera angle?
We were there in July 2010, mountain in the clouds from parking lot at the top, and complete snow pack still on those steps where you took your bike photo. There was no bare ground for hiking. Looks so different in your pictures!
Thank you again for another great video. I also appreciate you sharing a road not to travel on. I do worry that some roads are not RV friendly, but you may not know it until its too late.
Welcome back to the PNW and our neck of the woods! And we agree, that bridge at Hood River is very narrow and we say the same thing every time we cross...and still have not braved it with the travel trailer. Looking forward to your info on Rainier!
ROFLOL "Even in the wilderness, the teenage boy finds his satellite"... Yeah, that would be me and my hubby too! Looked like a fun ride across the Bridge of the Gods... :)
Great vid as always. Remember, every time you go through a tunnel you’re supposed to hold your breath and make a wish. Next look up one of the best little games ever called Fill or Bust… We picked up our copy for $1.99 and a little drugstore probably 40-45 years ago and it has been just absolutely the very best camping game ever. I think the game is now $7-8 online now and is so great I always have a couple extra sets to give away. I still have our original set, and the box is missing most of its flaps to hold the Dyson, and the box itself has been taped over more than once with clear packing tape. So when you are having to bond this a great family game and is a great way to do it and it’s not going to take up hardly any room in your trailer at all
I have had a lot of good times on Mt Rainer I have hiked to camp Muir several times you can see see camp Muir from the skyline trail I have hiked skyline trail vary beautiful in the winter snowshoeing at paradise during a snowstorm. Hike to carbon glacier love that mountain you can see it from almost anywhere in Washington state as long as it is clear lol one of the places I miss the most since moving to golden valley Arizona
My maternal family are the Longmires. Longmire lodge is at the base of Mt Ranier and they have a little postpffice at that lodge where you can get mail.postmarked. I have the Longmire history book written by Mrs Rice, who married into the Seattle area Longmire family and tool my Mother and me on a cemetery tour on the way to the Longmire Lodge. Unfortunately the mountain had heavy cloud cover when we arrived that never lifted that day. Mother s Longmire ancestor from North Carolina was a brother to the Washington State pioneer. One came to Tennessee and settled as the other went on west and settled at Mt Ranier and became a lifelong tour guide as his wife ran the lodge. It is a terrific history story.
We started collecting fridge magnets and the kids love it! We only ever get one. But we choose together as a family and it makes good memories on our fridge at home or in the trailer
If you are down in the woodland, WA area two things. 1. peppers 49er restaurant. 2. Cedar Creek Grist Mill. A drive for your tow vehicle, not with trailer. We’re in Bothell, WA
Great video - so fun and funny! We were in Rainier a month ago and hiked Skyline Trail the other way. Went through a lot of snow fields. Looks like you had some nice weather.
OMG , I love your Hood River Bridge experience. Many an Rv has been sacrificed to the guard rails of this bridge. I have been crossing her for 45 years with trailers and trucks. I personally will not take my own RV across it . Safe travels , always love your adventures.
We actually went to Mt Saint Helens for the first time this year. We thought it would be cool, and faster, to take the 503 to the volcano. This route brought us up along miles and miles for Forest Roads that our truck would have LOVED but not the sedan. We made it, then went out the north side to Toledo and that was much smoother ground. We definitely found LOTS of spots we would love to take our new trailer to, just not in the south side 😂
This brought back amazing memories. My daughter is a MP in the Army and she was stationed at JBLM before she got stationed in Germany, so I got to visit her there. We went to Mt Rainier and it was absolutely stunning!! Great video!
You guys were in our 'hood! Never, ever drive over the Hood River/Bingen Bridge. Use the Bridge in The Dalles or Bridge of the Gods, in Cascade Locks. Glad there wasn't a logging truck coming towards you while you were on the bridge. Can you tell that I HATE that bridge, LOL? Glad you made it safely across. The Gifford Pinchot National Forest has some wonderful boon docking spots, as well as the organized camogrounds. Safe travels!
Mark and Trish, love following you two and your family as they have grown up! Wonderful views, and thank you all for sharing with us on this thing they call youtube!
There's a bridge like that when crossing from Kentucky to Indiana over the Ohio River.... it's the one that avoids the toll. I took an enclosed trailer we had across it, but I don't think I would ever chance it again.
Hello KYD family. I live in Washington state So glad you got to come up here again. Love where you went. Hope to someday be out on the road rving too. 💕
Paradise is one of our favorite day-trip destinations from home. We haven't been for a bit, because the kids have been a little too small to do the hikes. They're getting there now. I hope you've enjoyed your time in Washington!
Damn kids, keep your hands off the trailer! :p I like seeing the backing process and stuff like that, I'm new to the RV thing and we are still refining our processes especially when it comes to things like backing and setup/teardown.
I’m so excited you’ve made it to my neck of the woods. I’ve snow camped multiple times on the Paradise side and just started grinning with Tricia’s excited! All the trees 🌲 in our neck of the woods are easy to take for granted. Hope you’ve enjoyed your return back to the NW.
Love that you are in our part of the country. We are in Gig Harbor just west of Tacoma, WA. If you find yourself in E. Central Oregon there is a Hot Springs with Dry camping and there are some hook up sites, Crystal Crane Hot springs, Crane Oregon. Happy and safe travels.
"Narrowest bridge I've ever driven on...." Yeah, we drove that bridge last week & it was tight with our Camry as we met an 18-wheeler going the opposite direction! (At the coast now at my sister's cabin. Cape Kiwanda at Pacific City, OR.)
My heart sank watching you drive over the Hood River Bridge. On the plus side, you didn’t go all the way to Cascade Locks and drive over “The Bridge of the Gods”, so named because you pray to all the Gods when driving over it. Welcome to Washington, my home. Now you have me worried for Olympic National Park. That’s where things get remote. 😂
Caleb in the backseat is always gold
Yes, he is!
When you said BOND AS A FAMILY and HANG OUT 😂 I spit my pop out 😂

This was the best KYD episode! Loved the views and the coffee tips!!!!
Cool trip so far
That bridge looked like the one in Hood River. And yes that is the kite surfing capitol of the world.
"Narrowest bridge I've ever driven on...." Yeah, we drove that bridge last week & it was tight with our Camry as we met an 18-wheeler going the opposite direction! (At the coast now at my sister's cabin. Cape Kiwanda at Pacific City, OR.)
Awesome, 10 days ago! Keep sharing your adventures, and bring Charlie along Trish!
