Backing track and vocals recorded on August 20, 1976 (Metronome Studio).
String overdubs added on August 30, 1976 (Metronome Studio).
The ballad 'My Love My Life' with lyrics by Stig Anderson was originally titled 'Monsieur, Monsieur' and a rough demo with Agnetha singing had been recorded in the studio in July. The theme of the lyrics, with Paris as the setting for a romance that is now over., would later be echoed in the 1980 track 'Our Last Summer', complete with "walks along the Seine". However, the' French feel' that the group had seemed to detect in this song, was somehow deemed irrelevant, and a slower backing track in a lower key better suited to Agnetha's voice was recorded on August 20. The dreamy, whispering backing choir was inspired by 10CC classis 'I'm Not In Love', which had recently been a big hit.

So very beautiful! This has always been my # 1 favorite song. I know it's ABBA but it's Agnetha who really sings with such beauty and grace. I should say to honour all of ABBA, Agnetha is number one of my number one favorite four. I was not going to share this, but I will. My wife died just after we married, giving birth to our duaghter 26 years ago. I had this played at her funeral. It gave me great comfort. How I cried! It helped me to grieve and thru grief. Then it helped me to smile again.
Rob my heart breaks for you. What a sad story. But I hope the music and the face of Agnetha gives you comfort.
This is I am going through with the sudden loss of my husband as well. Agnetha has such a beautiful voice, and makes this song so strong and loving. It is helping me get through each day. I have to say that I started to meet Agnetha (if you can say that) through a few interviews that were made to her. Anyone who pays attention to various details in her voice tone when she answering the questions, her gestures, or when she smiles, and her silences too, you will realize how truly sensitive and sincere she is.
Until today, I cant believe that this sweet and loving woman with a sincere heart has given 2 years of her life and her love to a bastard fan who later was stalking her. She believed in him, even a perfect stranger, she sincerely opened up her heart to that person and that bastard betrayed the trust she placed in him.
I think about it, over and over and I cant understand it. That idiot had the heaven in his hands, and threw it in the trash !!! My God!!

I signed that petition a long time ago Jim, and I wondered if it had any effect - maybe it has now. I reckon Abba have sold more records than the rest in that list combinred. Looking through the names, there's 4 I've never even heard of before. Lets hope its not a repeat of the Swedish 1973 Eurovision vote!
