I would probably put an extra layer of carpet in the car and boot to insulate it a little better, some have windows a lot smaller than others that would help keep heat in, most go for hatchbacks or RVs so even just having an air bed to put on the folded flat seats is a good start.

Thank you for the ideas, Tosia. I used to do the same in my kar when I kamped out.But the tanks and the potable stove were in the trunk. I had a spacious kar. I used the seats as beds.

Hi. This is a fun look at ways to go camping using what you have. I still like my simple system which does not have the larger fixed structures. My system can either use the back of the van as a bedroom. ie. Self inflating mattress which rolls up easily or a cot to use in the tail veil. My stove is a single burner Coleman burner. Water is a case (6) 2 liter boiled of water. The bathroom is a stool with plastic bags in a pop up tent.
That being said the best system is to camp at a State Park which has a bathhouse. Or camp in the wild where a shovel can be used.
Needless to say this is not a long term housing solution and definitely not for everyone.

@@neoaliphant please see my new note on Aldi’s. Not only my camping equipment purchases there but also even biclycle equipment has been of not only good quality but also good use once purchased. Thanks. John

I had to laugh at your buying items at Aldi’s. I DO TOO. And not only virtually all the items are very useable and of good quality. Last night we opened a package of 6 stick on lights that would be perfect for use inside your camper and of course purchased at Aldi’s.

It's a good idea, I see many RUclips videos where people convert cars into campers. It looks like this would do all that with a lot less work.

It is not cheap but at least it is not going to fall to pieces as soon as it is loaded in the van!

@@neoaliphant I think that is the case with most things. On that very subject, my argument that RV manufacturers should stop trying to bring out a new model every year and instead concentrate on something that works and use that well into the future also holds weight, I think.

@@neoaliphant I think Apple are now peer pressured to bring a new phone out every year, after all, someone as trendy as myself could not possibly be seen with last year's phone, that is, if I used Apple of course.

@@neoaliphant An iVan would be a way of saying my van if I only spoke in the nominative!

You can buy mini cigarette lighter kettles, and keep a flask, even small cooler boxes you plug in, you can get battery heated gloves and socks, noticed a home electric blanket only uses 120watts maximum and you only usually need it on minimum.
