    Porter's footwork is really crazy

    • @PrinceJayReal
      @PrinceJayReal 8 лет назад +88

      ***** ? Height has nothing to do with footwork. He made some great moves purely based off of footwork. I'd compare it more to Kobe than Durant in this aspect.

    • @PrinceJayReal
      @PrinceJayReal 8 лет назад +49

      ***** I don't see what that has to do with my comment though. All I said was that his footwork is impressive.

    • @PrinceJayReal
      @PrinceJayReal 8 лет назад +36

      ***** How is his footwork not impressive? lol

    • @PrinceJayReal
      @PrinceJayReal 8 лет назад +43

      ***** Dennis Smith has pretty good size for a PG at 6'3" and he was gifted with elite athleticism which is the crux of his entire game.
      Just look at the moves Porter was performing in this one-on-one, his footwork is better than Smith's when you factor in their size difference. Bigger guys often have worse footwork. For someone 6'10" to have footwork like that and making moves like Kobe is extremely rare and impressive. I don't know why you're so determined to hate on Porter, who's also younger than Dennis Smith.

    • @Hszirpix
      @Hszirpix 8 лет назад +1

      He is not 6'3

    Porter was working Dennis in the beginning, but then Dennis came back and got the win. Porter needs to work on driving the ball more. He got too shot happy(which happens to most good shooters) with the ball.

    • @joshuaadams-ri2su
      @joshuaadams-ri2su 9 лет назад +40

      He wasn't working Dennis. Dennis had good defense and made him shoot well- contested jumpers. He should be able to shoot jumpers over somebody 6'2 if he's 6'8

    • @legin3795
      @legin3795 9 лет назад +21

      joshua adams You read it out of context. I meant he had Dennis in the beginning, but then he came back and got the win. Is that hard to understand? I'm aware Dennis made him work for it, but the fact he made those contested shots made me feel like he made Dennis "work" defensively. I know the height deferential is a issue, you don't need to tell me that, because i can see that.

    • @joshuaadams-ri2su
      @joshuaadams-ri2su 9 лет назад +1

      The obvious fact is that Michael nor anybody else could guard Dennis one on one he torched everybody. Made the mvp himself run up to cameraman and ask for a replay

    • @GlitchPredator

      Daniel K so if u dunk on somebody u dunk on them

    • @GlitchPredator
      @GlitchPredator 8 лет назад +3

      Wally Javier I don't get your point? I meant dunking on a guy your own height in one on one is harder than dunking on somebody 6'9 and slower than you. Most of the time they can only stop your drives by length but they give you the spacing to get up so dunking against them is easier versus somebody your own height and speed limiting the space on the floor but having less length in the air.

    • @godsgift1319
      @godsgift1319 8 лет назад +1

      Daniel K I see your point I'm just saying that dunking on somebody is dunking on them you know like if they jump and you jump and dunk? it's pretty impressive. No hate man I'm just saying

  • @freestylingwhistler
    @freestylingwhistler 8 лет назад +42

    michael porter won the battle when he shot-faked off the dribble into a spin move for the wet jumper and made dennis smith look lost but smith won the war because porter couldn't handle smith's speed into the paint so he had to give him space letting him hit some nice jumpers, both are future nba players easily

  • @kyrie4451

    People keep saying MPJ should drive and post up more, you need to know why he does this. The game only allows 3 dribbles, he cannot post up. Everybody knows he is tall and strong, he doesn't need to prove that. In this exhibition game MPJ is trying to show the scoots that he is a complete player, he can shoot and has good footwork.

    Isnt Michael Porter Jr just a sophmore here? I think he is but even if he's a junior here then still.. when he gets more coordination, stamina, and strength in his body by like age 19 hes gonna be a dominant baller at the highest level

    This video made me have some questions on porters shot creating. I liked his game but his ability to create space isnt there Dsj is a cold player but at 6"3 when you 6"10 you should be able to just rise over him as porter was doing. He needs to find a way to get himself open vs athleticism if he wants to be the player that he claims to be

    porter couldn't drive bc they're limited to 3 dribbles, either way Dennis had good defense, porter had lucky shots go in..

      Porter had a size advantage and uitlized it by shooting over DS. It's the way he plays.
