The psycho social aspect of having a low risk strain(wart related) of hpv really sucks. Considering the 200plus strains are cleared by the great majority of people in a year is great….but some of us, despite having bloodwork that indicates we have good immunity, are not so lucky in clearing the virus.
Of course nobody would want a dormant, symptomless high risk strain that
Could cause various cancer in the future, but at least those dangerous strains could be cleared just as easily and leave no footprints.
The warty ones in your genitals or oral cavity have the potential to finger you as the carrier pretty quickly and prove more stigmatizing, albeit less dangerous.
Geez, I’ve suddenly got some patches in my mouth and I feel like a disgusting leper. It’s so embarrassing to have it checked out , removed and dread it’ll just return. I’m so angry and feel gross, despite being a gl gay guy in his mid 5os. Who still has a lot of miles to in him. Shit, my sexual social life has reverted to middle school maneuvers.

Since then I've had two colposcopies where my results were HPV positive (HPV 16) but no abnormal cells - my main issue is that I have an autoimmune disease and I take immunosuppressant medication, so it will be more difficult for me to clear the virus. Will taking supplements and eating healthy be enough? thanks!

    • @DrNickTargetsHPV

Being immunosuppressed will make it much more likely that you are going to have problems with HPV; that being said, eating plant-based and taking supplements will help lessen that risk.

You videos are full of great information.. I wish your videos were out there 6 years ago when I got my 1st hpv+ diagnosis with normal cells. I was sent straight to a colposcopy which I later learned wasn’t necessary since the cells were normal! Each year after that my paps would alternate between positive and negative with normal cells. I saw 4 different gynos throughout the 6 years and none of them said anything can be done about it, or even bothered guiding me in the right direction. Fast forward 2020, I get my 1st abnormal ascus pap. I researched and decided to treat it holistically with supplements and boosting my immune system under the guidance of a naturopathic doctor. I did a colposcopy afterwards and results were normal. I just went back to my 6 months check and got another hpv+ with ascus. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong at this point!! Any suggestions doctor?

Thank you for your comments. I really don't know enough details of your history and testing to be able to offer my opinion. For example, many women aren't tested for HPV when their pap is normal, leaving gaps in the HPV history. Also, ASCUS can be something or nothing. Also, your colpo was negative but what was the pap and the HPV results after treatment?

Dr. Nick Targets HPV, thank you for your response. Feb 2020 I got my 1st abnormal cells result of ASC-H and it was hpv+. I started holistic treatment shortly after under the supervision of my naturopathic doctor who treated it as a CIN 1. No suppositories were used, just supplements. June 2020 i went in for a colposcopy and no lesions were found. The doc said he doesn’t do a pap or hpv test With a colposcoy. Recently, Dec 2020 I did another follow up pap test and results were still hpv+ with ascus this time.
I have also done all the diet changes and have been eating an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant diet. So I’m just confused as to what I’m doing wrong now 🤷🏻‍♀️
I will most likely contact you for a consultation.

Why men aren't stressed with hpv after they know they have it they stressed and its ruining their life so don't be so insensitive in giving this remark

Not stressed because for the majority of healthy men the HPV does not cause any damage. They have no idea they have it … unless they have the type that causes genital warts.

Hi Dr nick 👋, but if only hpv inflected and no cell changed is done, can our immune system still able to detect hpv virus and clear it? If not, then all those supplement for boosting our immune system are useless cause the hpv virus is hiding and immune system probably can't detect it..

Granted, HPV can be challenging for some people to clear, but despite that, most people eliminate it without doing anything at all (i.e. the immune system is usually able to detect it and eliminate it over time). Some supplements and diet just appear to assist in that process as well as helping to prevent dysplasia from advancing.
