I was a fan of the X Files and when they played this on the episode where he finds out what happened to his sister, it brought tears to my eyes. And I am not someone who cries very easily.
I'm so glad to see other people recognize this song from the X-Files episode "Closure." They did a great job picking this song for that episode. It was such a sad scene, but this song made it extra touching (even if it did make me bawl my eyes out).
this song changed my life, it showed me it was okay to have weaknesses, to be vulnerable and when i hear this song, i weep so much for many things. I felt very sensitive for ALL things around me. I remember the first time i heard this, i had just had some terrible news and was holding everything in, i was on a 4 hour bus trip along a coastline and i remember looking out as far as i could across the sea and feeling so small. Ultimately a humbling moment for me. Beautiful and Enlightening.
Hear it too in x files. Near to crying. Dramtisches Konzert der Gefühle, ein Meisterwerk was in Moby's Genre sei es Gleichen noch lange suchen wird. Great
Like many others have mentioned...X-Files. I knew this song before hand. When I heard this during that so important and moving scene of my fav show though...goosebumps and tears. So epic. Man I miss the X-Files!!!!
the true nature of this song can be happy or sad. sandness grows more inside me since ive lost so much, but in all i still have GOD. and i will keep him with me forever so to all non believers i have no pity your soulsare done lost.
This song has always been so touching to me. I can't even describe how it makes me feel. It reminds me of a calm after a big storm when people are finally coming out of their houses to enjoy the outdoors again. I also feel like this is what world peace would sound like if that makes sense.
Oh DITTO. Me too. Just listening to this song makes my throat close up and if I don't get a grip fast, I'll start thinking about all the friends and family who have died in my life, and start bawling.
remember those days? those long beautiful summer evenings? when breathing actually ment something and life was worth living? well it all came back to me when i played this track. thanks a trillion x
I watched 6 of my warrior brethern perish in Afghanistan and after they flew home on the Angel Flight, I listened to this song. All I could do is close my eyes and visualize them walking down the trail to Fiddler's Green and as they approached the camp, the fallen warriors from before stood at attention saluting them while they walked in slow motion to take their place amongst this Hall of Honor. At Ease soldier. I will take it from here.
I relate 100% to what you're saying. I had to bury a close friend the day before yesterday. I spoke the eulogy and also spoke at the watering hole he hung out at. I asked them to play this music while I spoke and they did. You're right. It is indeed a song of solace and hope. Everybody was moved.
***** Nah haha, was just an emotional episode in that show because it ended something from the beginning. The main reason why the story is how it is cause of it.
Episode: 7.10 “SEIN UND ZEIT" I remember it by the phrase: "Nobody shoots at Santa Claus". I also cried because at that time, my grandfather was also dissappeared, as Samantha Mulder.
I first heard this on the X-Files when I watched this episode as a kid. At the end of the episode I was in tears. Great song, great show, great everything...
This always brings me back to Closure. . .Philes know what I'm talking about. R.I.P Samantha Mulder. the X-Files was a GREAT story. I'm 15 and I've been watching (And rewatching) The X-Files on Netflix for almost four years now. Adults, The X-Files still lives on with me. And I have my friends watching, and loving it, now.
Closure. Without a doubt my favorite X Files episode (7/11).... Powerful, haunting, full of hope. I was so moved that I still find myself watching the episode for solace and a feeling of "beyond."
*A bit of trivia: DO people know that the album 'Play' in which this song is from is noted because EVERY track on the album was used in some commercialized aspect...Moby was one of the FIRST 'electronic artist' to really get paid BIG by allowing his tunes to be used for other purposes outside of the original context ~ Smart Man!
I still remember the time I played this on a loop for a bit and it brought me to tears. One of my favorite Moby productions... It was a trip hearing this near the end of Any Given Sunday...
this song always gives me goosebumps. i cant describe the feeling it brings. the best i can say is that it is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever writtten.
This also plays near the end of The Salton Sea, after Danny Parker is rescued from the fire... I finally downloaded Shazam for my iPhone, and after years of searching I have finally found this beautiful song.
Its funny, in Kansas City when he played a show a few years ago- he opened with this song. It was a dark room, and all you could see was these green lasers that looked (in some way) like a sunrise. Was an amazing time to see him perform. He says Thank you a lot- but I think I would like to tell him thank you.
Yup, same here. I just finished the whole series. That was one of the most emotional scenes of the series. Very sad but at the same time very peaceful.
Yes, the X-Files did this to me as well. The finale of Lost reminded me of this X-Files episode where the music was just as significant in telling the story. When Mulder finally said the Samantha was dead, it became a touchstone in the story arc. Moby's song had haunted me ever since and I always wondered about it. Thanks to RUclips, memories of that era makes me long to see the show in it's former great self.
After seven years of X-Files, I'd given up hope that Mulder's search would end well. Dead or alive, it wouldn't be... enough. But it was. There was finally Closure. Certainly not what anyone expected, yet exactly what was needed. Still brings me to tears. Always will.
Nothing wrong with weakness. We all have weakness, we're not perfect. The X-Files brought me here, one of my all time favorite t.v. shows. This song itself is beautiful and full of emotion and the human spirit of humanity, tranquility, unity, and a touch of solemnity, and sadness yet closure and acceptance.
The X Files is what introduced me to this song 10 or so years ago. It took me until a few years ago when I finally did learn who did the song and the title of it. The scene on the show was incredibly powerful, mostly in thanks to this beautiful song.
I, too, heard this in the X-File episode 7.11 ("Closure") and it really stuck with me. I was amazed to find this video. I had NO idea who did the song I just thought is was really haunting and so very appropriate for that episode.
First heard this awesome track in The X-Files ("Closure" episode), loved it immensely and wasn't at all surprised when I found out it was one of Moby's masterpieces.
Interesting to see so many people are here for the same reason as me. First I heard this song was on the X-Files episode "Closure." It's the perfect song to end Mulder's search for his sister. One of the very few songs that actually makes me quite sad...
This song makes me cry....it is the ending song of the movie Earthlings. You have to watch this movie and you will have another feeling to this song. Not like a few comments are saying that this song is are from ghost!^^
Two years ago I dated this young women we broke apart after a couple of months that year. But she stayed in my thougts even thougt it was two years since we broke. Last week while this song played on my computer and I was sitting in my office my cellphone recieved an unexpected sms. It was from her and she wanted to know invite me home to her place. She will and always will be my weakness.
I love how it's 2012 and the majority of the comments I'm seeing right now have to do with The X-Files episode "Closure" [which featured this song]. x-philes are awesome! This song, and "The Sky is Broken" will forever remind me of The X-Files. DAMN do I miss that show [&] Moby... you rock.
Fox Mulder could meet Samantha finally. But that was a hard ending. I cried unconsciously. This song is the suitable song in which the end of a plot is bound.
DOES ANYONE KNOW that Moby made the guiness book of world records for his B-Side track 'THOUSAND"? It is the fastest song ever but starts slow and the pounding beat comes in then builds up, all the way to a thousand beats....in one minute. This we had this at Raves in the early 90's. Look it up on YT.
A funeral is used to honor the one who had died. A dirge is used at said funeral for those whom watch, for those whom mourn, for those whom loved and lost, for those whom say their final goodbys.
This music is very powerful stuff, very original and thought provoking, makes me think of a bunch of ideas just hearing it. Oh, and the X-files episode utilized it brilliantly in 'Closure'!
I heard this first on an old Transworld skate video, in an injuries montage and remember Neal Mims splitting his eyebrow open while trying to trick down like 12 stairs.
I was a fan of the X Files and when they played this on the episode where he finds out what happened to his sister, it brought tears to my eyes. And I am not someone who cries very easily.

I tear up every time this song has been with me all my the time

X-Files, Closure, the music fits perfectly with the ending scene. That episode and conclusion still haunts me today
Oh DITTO. Me too. Just listening to this song makes my throat close up and if I don't get a grip fast, I'll start thinking about all the friends and family who have died in my life, and start bawling.
That was such a beautiful episode. This song made it so much more heart breaking.
Closure is for me One of the MOST beautiful sepisode on all the serie.
remember those days? those long beautiful summer evenings? when breathing actually ment something and life was worth living? well it all came back to me when i played this track. thanks a trillion x
I cried while listening to this!!! So Beautiful!!!! Reminds me of my Grandpa.
This song is so tranquil and beautiful, I'm thankful to both Chris Carter and X-Files who brought me here.
Moby was in the future with this thang
Domage on l entend plus.
I was crying when this played in X-Files. I found this from that episode.

Any Given Sunday brought me here!
I listened to this song and thought up the perfect scene it could be used for in a movie.
Then I found out X-Files beat me to it.
God this song is beautiful. I hope this song plays as my vision fades and I depart for heaven.
this one of the greatest peices of instrumental music ever written! CLASSIC
I first heard this on the X-Files when I watched this episode as a kid. At the end of the episode I was in tears. Great song, great show, great everything...
This song is the definition of amazing. Brings out all kinds of emotion. I do not know how you do it Moby. You have a gift.
I don't know how he created something so beautiful and other-wordly. But I love it.
A Haunting tune that makes me feel peaceful and safe!. A gem...........
And I have my friends watching, and loving it, now.
you're not the only one. i heard it many years ago in the middle of the night on my headphones, beautiful..amazing
How can you not believe in a form of heaven after hearing this track?
Closure. Without a doubt my favorite X Files episode (7/11).... Powerful, haunting, full of hope. I was so moved that I still find myself watching the episode for solace and a feeling of "beyond."

so many memories of these days...I wish the year was 1999..
If happy memories that are forgotten had a sound, this would be it.
Its funny, in Kansas City when he played a show a few years ago- he opened with this song. It was a dark room, and all you could see was these green lasers that looked (in some way) like a sunrise. Was an amazing time to see him perform. He says Thank you a lot- but I think I would like to tell him thank you.
3 people obviously felt the need for attention, poor them. One of the most beautiful tunes i have ever heard.
I feel you, that scene made me cry and it would right now if I watched it again.
This song brings back so many memories to me
Best album ever made! Pure beauty for the soul. x x
Yup, same here. I just finished the whole series.
That was one of the most emotional scenes of the series.
Very sad but at the same time very peaceful.
r.i.p Samantha Mulder :(
Unless we've seen Sammy being murdered by aliens, we don't know she's dead.
She's not. They needed to make Mulder truly believe she was dead so he'd stop looking.
This is my weakness, it's what I adore................repeated many times with piano and organ.
After seven years of X-Files, I'd given up hope that Mulder's search would end well. Dead or alive, it wouldn't be... enough. But it was. There was finally Closure. Certainly not what anyone expected, yet exactly what was needed. Still brings me to tears. Always will.

This is a song for eternity, to start the journey of my after life. This is the song I want to be buried with.
I will always love my Weakness .
I love Moby's weakness too !
Every time I hear this song I'm reminded of 'Earthlings' -- brilliant, shocking, devastating, and most of all, necessary. Thanks Moby.
this song is one of the best i've ever heard :*)...undescribable!
The X Files is what introduced me to this song 10 or so years ago. It took me until a few years ago when I finally did learn who did the song and the title of it. The scene on the show was incredibly powerful, mostly in thanks to this beautiful song.
I want to believe
Remember hearing this on xfiles - I was blubberin' like a baby the 1st time I saw that scene! Beautiful
It was a very emotional scene. Mulder finally discovered after all those years what happened to his sister Samantha :(
such a chilling song, its just lures you in. on 7.1 this just sounds amazing
I, too, heard this in the X-File episode 7.11 ("Closure") and it really stuck with me. I was amazed to find this video. I had NO idea who did the song I just thought is was really haunting and so very appropriate for that episode.
Pure moment of peace... Ahhhh... Zzzzzzzen!
so beautiful, and makes me very sad, i love it.
Dear jesus this is one of the greatest things i've ever heard.
I will stare out a window and listen to this while the world ends, that would be pretty cool!
Oh, great...one of my favourite...
Play is an amazing Album...
other chapter begin and close with sky is broken, very sentimental too. great prduction
gah this song is like something i heard as a baby lol when the world was still beautiful
First heard this awesome track in The X-Files ("Closure" episode), loved it immensely and wasn't at all surprised when I found out it was one of Moby's masterpieces.
what a wonderful song, i love it !!
Interesting to see so many people are here for the same reason as me. First I heard this song was on the X-Files episode "Closure." It's the perfect song to end Mulder's search for his sister. One of the very few songs that actually makes me quite sad...
this is beautiful. cant deny it
Best song on the album by FAR.
This song makes me cry....it is the ending song of the movie Earthlings. You have to watch this movie and you will have another feeling to this song. Not like a few comments are saying that this song is are from ghost!^^
The word haunting comes to mind when describing this song and it perfectly fits the X-Files episode during which it is used.
Shut your eyes as you listen
i been looking for this one of my favorites!!!!!
That's why I'm here. Great song for Mulder's closure.
Hermosa canción, como poder olvidar ese episodio de los expedientes secretos X!
Its taken me years to find this one track. The itch to find the name and artist solved!
3 people can't understand the beauty of good music.
Sometimes, a simple melody can make you cry.
Beautiful, I remember this song in x-files; the episode was on children, but it finished badly.
It played in a very memorable episode of the show.
Oh my god I heard this with X-files and in the movie "any given sunday" so glad i found it.
I guess this is how it feels to be touched in the soul
His best - ever!
fell in love with this song after I saw the X-Files Episode 'Closure'.
Extraordinarily simple. Undeniably moving.
man i feel this !! AMAZING !!
I cried when I first heard this in the X-Files. I'm stilly crying when hearing this...
Just watched the X-files episode with this song, it fits amazingly. If they made that into the last episode, X-files would be the best series ever.
This reminds me of days past and babies lost to miscarriage .... I've not forgotten, not even these 24 years later......
I heard this song for the first time in the X-Files, but I recognized it was a Moby song the minute I heard it!
Amazing !!
"He said she usually cried at least once each day not because she was sad, but because the world was so beautiful and life was so short."
I love how it's 2012 and the majority of the comments I'm seeing right now have to do with The X-Files episode "Closure" [which featured this song]. x-philes are awesome! This song, and "The Sky is Broken" will forever remind me of The X-Files. DAMN do I miss that show [&] Moby... you rock.
im watching it right now, so yes it is.
Fox Mulder could meet Samantha finally. But that was a hard ending. I cried unconsciously.

Thank you.
