Summary:
This is a terrific document of the group shortly after the 2nd album release. They play the 2nd album in it's entirety as well as most of the first album. It's b&w, but well lit, good audio and every second of it is here. The original lineup (they look so young!) bursting with creativity on their first tour as headliners.
Kate is playing a synth bass with her left hand, the synth lead with her right hand, AND singing as well. That takes discipline.
Cindy playing those bongos like they wronged her in a past life!
Underestimated geniuses….they do experimental instrumentals. And their lyrics are not as nonsensical as they appear on the surface. Bars be going over everyone’s head. oh, and I totally think they were psychedelically inspired…..a magic mushroom for every song!
Where has the joy gone? One of the greatest American bands. Period.
If I was riding a dead spacecraft into the sun, this the song I'd be listening to.
A masterpiece by THE most unique and innovative group EVER
One of the greatest songs ever written and recorded. And Cindy is smackin' them bongos with abandon!!!
Apparently no one ages on Planet Claire either. I saw them in Boston a few months ago and they sounded exactly like this, and looked almost the same. They were beyond amazing.
I love the B52s. How could you not.....
Bongo fury.
They were Voted Worst Band when they came out with their First album.
moved to NY in 81. Went to a party and they were all there just hanging out
The most original and creative band of the last 40 years...the universe is yours!!!!!
The bongos are brilliant! Incredible sing writing
One of the best debut albums ever!
The worlds greatest dance band. You never stopped dancing. A life changing experience
The guitar is sick. The riffs are amazing. Underrated I feel.
This is my favorite song from the B-52's.
Genius 40 years later and still awesome
Nothing has been or ever will be like the B52s there one offs thanks for bringing joy into our lifes
