Skaife will always be my favourite driver. His bathurst win in 2005 was what made me love him so much. He dominated so much in the early 2000's with hrt. One of the legends.

My childhood idol. Skaifey was a seriously good steerer. Brilliant lap from the legend.

I was a Murphy and Ingall fan (to an extent) but I'm gonna admit that Skaife was a hell of a driver. extremely unpredictable and talented. despite coming as a prick in interviews, the guy was talented and passionate. mad respect

Magic Mouse Media hey mate, I was lucky to meet him one day when he was in my hometown of Griffith back in 2007. He seemed like a really nice bloke, quite shy sort of guy to be honest. I think a lot of people took his intense nature as being a arrogant prick.

@@Cdog79 Just shows, to be honest. Alot of drivers are like that. Their passion shows them in a certain way. Arrogant. The best drivers all had passion that will annoy a few people. However, that's what made them so great. Mr. Skaife is no different. I never disliked the guy, always had mad respect for him. Drivers like him is what made motorsport so incredible.

Absolutely. His loop changes were the best. I miss that with the sequential gearbox now. I still love hearing the legend in commentary these days.

Just goes to show how brilliant Mark was in the middle sector over the top. At least 2 tenths lost in last sector with oversteer after the chase and the white line. I love this stuff. Legends.

Such an incredible talent. Born to race competitively throughout his career with exceptional knowledge of his cars.
Was a true legend to the Holden stable and in good company as well with the likes of Brock/ Jim (rain master) Richards/Murph/Lowndes to name a few.

    Splits
    Murphy 2003
    1st split 0:51.435

    Skaife 2007
    1st split 0:51.596

But hang on, what is not mentioned here is that Frosty still had his lap to go, which he did and put his car on pole. Winterbottom/Richards got pole in 2007, not MS.
