You was lucky to not getting hooked that 45lb tarpon with that baby rod, it would take you around the world and back. Just a tip, when you see the tarpon try to take your bait, don't try to pull out from his mouth, pause for a sec or two than set the hook, I guarantee you you will catch a lot more fish if you do that.
Not sure why you would throw straight braid unless you were frog fishing in freshwater and even then I don't even think it's smart...but that's just me. I see it didn't last very long before you switched over😎👍👍

Gotta love the tarpon blow ups. Flukes are such a versatile lure, you can super slo twitch 'em on the bottom for reds, or fast twitch 'em up top like you were. Good stuff.👍

Awesome video as usual! Have you tried nose-hooking a fluke with a circle hook or a small octopus style hook? Tacticalbassin has a great video showing the rig using a screw lock. Might be a good option when the tarpon are missing the weedless flukes!
Personally whenever I fished brackish water I've tried to use root beer and darker colors like everyone suggests but I've always had more luck doing the opposite with pearl white . My experiment has been trolling root beer and Pearl white or glow in the dark from two different rods at the same time from my kayak the pearl white and glow-in-the-dark have always out performed the root beer for me at least.

I’ve watched his videos for a long time too and he does set hard lol I fish in pine island sound and use braid to flouro and man it’s just getting tight and raising the tip lol .... I’ve watched more friends lose fish for setting like its mono on bass lol

Use a smashed jack head (or other chunk meat) on the bottom when the tarpon are playing with you like that.
