Nah Fr tho whenever i play in an actual gym i feel like Im better and got more stamina, but I think it’s because it’s hot outside the sun it’s in your face you tryna get water more so that probably slows you down
This is why I'm so comfortable with him jumping. So far, that's his safeest stuff. Ja's dad did a heck of a job. Honestly might have as much of an impact on the game as Steph Curry in a decade...if this stuff can translate to other kids. Maybe those who already have bounce and start early.
i grew up playing on concrete, i cant say its the only factor as to why ive never faced any leg injuries in my entire life but im sure its strengthened them tremendously
You say this and just in a previous comment, a guy said that his legs were destroyed from years of playing on concrete. I replied that if his legs are destroyed it's not because he played on concrete, the problem is that he never stretched or protected his legs, knees and ankles properly. I've been playing on concrete court since i leave the middle school, and it's totally true that concrete strengthens your tendons and muscles.
Man this jus solidifies more the reason he’s my favorite player u kan tell in his game the grit hunger and determination I call it “that dog” u kan tell he down to earth n ain’t a premadonna this some RNS💯✊🏽💪🏽💪🏽
280 lb freshman lineman that have never worked out a day in their lift can hit tire jumps. Obviously listen to you body, but you’re not going to rupture your Achilles doing tire jumps.
It's so much better putting in work out side. Me my 7 yr old during the summer did shit like this almost everyday. Other kids in the neighborhood would even join. No better feeling then sweat dripping and that sun hitting you...yeah 💪🏾💪🏾🤝🏾
More likely to injur the Achilles on a one foot landing where you land mostly on the toes. Not impossible to injur it if you land on 2 feet. So practice landing mostly on the ball of the foot on 2 feet then slightly bend knees and small second hop to cushion landing. Trust me I didn't do that both times i injured both my Achilles. The second time was better because i came down on both feet but my landing was more on my toes than ball of foot. Also you need to strengthen and stretch the feet, Achilles and calves in order to help prevent injuries. Which i wasn't doing.

Did the Ja morant workout for 1 time (32x25) so 800 jumps and some basketball workouts within, i had to quit for 3 days but in those 3 days i stretched. When i say my bounce went up with 2 inches i mean it, i went from a 30 inch vertical (barely touching rim) to always grab the rim ( dunk sometimes) this workout is legit and i used PJF's tip to jump 1 time before doing it again, it is legit trust him.
I watched this months ago at a time when I was training and doing those workouts consistently. I vividly remember your warning about the Achilles and even though I tried to incorporate it, I think it was too late because on April 21st I ruptured my Achilles and I’m now 2 months into the recovery process. I had to come back to this video because I think about it a lot and I don’t want anyone to make the same mistake I made.
Paul i have a question to you. Idk if you educated on this stuff specificly but something like 3 years ago i realised my bicep femoris tendon is snapping. It doesnt hurt me or anything but i am scared it can effect my athleticism. I am playing bball for 2 years now in highschool 18 years old, but since i was 4 i started skiing( my goal was polish national team but i didnt make it sadly cause i just wasnt good enough) i am scared it can be serious injury from long time ago. Btw im jumping like 33 inches(im not sure but i am 5’10 and can dunk - sometimes Xd) idk but Please answear. I love your content🐙🐙🐙
My buddy played on concrete for the majority of high school and the amount of arthritis in his knees now is ridiculous. If you can do this shit in a gym do it.
My man keeps stressing environment and he’s right. Seems like Ja is back home, literally. Not in some fancy gym with all the equipment. Looks like he’s back at his home with people he grew up with.
its really your choice, just keep note that peak performance happens after the 48 hours your muscle recovers. That works for stress control too, you shouldn't have intensity workouts on the same muscle group on back-to-back days.
Ja really made it happen through effort and work ethic. Probably naturally more springy than most but the work made him elite.
He actually couldn’t dunk until the summer before his senior year if I’m correct, but his hard work payed off. 💪💪💪
@Moses Rodriguez if that's true then he worked even harder than it seems. I knew he was a late bloomer

I’ve been playing on concrete so when I play on hard wood I feel like my body just lasts longer
Last time I played on concrete I slipped and my shoulder went out of place it’s too much of a risk unless I’m just doing stationary jumps
It's probably because your joints and tendons have gotten stronger from the stress of the concrete
Lmao feel like Im only good on concrete

Doing post moves on concrete and then onto the hardwood floor feels like basketball heaven

Love this channel
Calf raises made me able to grab rim and I’m 5’10” it really isn’t hard to train your vertical it just takes a lot of reps.
Mad respect I love my tire jumps and tire flipping

Not doing too much too fast.

Me on my dirt driveway: rich people and their concrete
Would you recommend this as a say 3 month program to add inches to your vertical?
I wouldn't say it matters on the time or how long you do this workout it mainly really benefits on the consistency
Check out secret of athleticism
I'd say this then back it up with jogging early or in the afternoon... Simple jogging works miracles I PROMISE
No
@greasy pizza 🤣🤣 jogging is one of the most efficient way of strengthening your legs boi. Unless you jog like yo mama then that's trash. 🤣🤣
I've been playing concrete always. Just got in my school team and the hardwood is slippery

You should def be afraid of concrete. The less you do on those unforgiving surfaces, the better. -Knees Everywhere
Y'all knees gonna be in pain after this
How much reps and should we do this if we are a little overweight?
Hoopin on concrete bad for the legs
I’m black and live in the Caribbean….6”2 and never trained my legs but for some reason I can dunk…black ppl got the power…stay woke😌👌🏾
Ur 6'2😂
Ja will be in the HOF i believe
Watching this with a injured Achilles 🤕
The power of the sun to melanated skin is amazing
In da Bahamas we don’t have gyms so we play games n practice outside it’s normal
Wait do gyms environment make it easier? Cause I only play on concrete
Yuhhhh
I’m thankful for my genetics

I only play streetball, when I’m on a real court I feel like I'm god.
What do we use if we don’t have a tire😂
Any elevated sturdy surface.
The environment.
Do you see the way he lands in games ? If he didn’t do these workouts his knees ankles and tendon would be gone
Bruh this is super dangerous for the knees also…morant will get injured if he don’t stop this shit concrete don’t got no give…like that hardwood
Concrete is not good for everything. Impact on body. Stress fractures? Shin splints?
Smh…let’s give it 3 more years…🌚
How ı make schule upper body, team practise and vertical jump workout(is lift heavy and plyo same day okey?and deadlift and squat same day okey?)
