Most days, I awaken and ask the Holy Spirit to help me and work through me. I have a beautiful statue of Jesus Baptism from a store in Bethlehem. I look at it. It inspires me. I pray my rosary each morning. No two mornings are alike there. It helps start me on this path. If I can't pray a full decade then I pray one Hail Mary, and go back through the day, to reconnect me to God, and say another 9. I feel so blessed to be with God and our Blessed Mother for 30 minutes like this each day. I feel like I am superior spiritually sometimes. Because of that faith. And peace only comes through faith.
For me personally the last 4 years ,since breaking my foot and having surgeries has changed how I look at the world and what I can do as a Christian. My world changed from being able to do (even though I had many limitations even then) to being able to pray more. And with what the break and surgeries resulted in has me being more cautious, more exhausted, more confused, ;but also willing to search for more answers and to examine the roots of our faith to try to gain understanding of the way to proceed for the future. To discover the truth , and listen for the Holy Spirit to guide me to the "work" he needs me to "do". Sometimes it is shockingly and vastly different or out of sight of others. Sometimes though its also surprisingly simple . God knows we are not perfect, we are all flawed with original sin. God knows we go at our own pace. Today I'm thankful for His patience, and the many opportunities and ways He reaches out over and over to communicate . As well as the times He sits still and waits for me to catch up.
Wow Jack! What a profound honesty and a tremendously challenging assignment. I’m a little afraid of tackling this list. On a January 1 BEFORE the pandemic I started with “I Heard God Laugh” and committed to daily prayer, reading and silence in the classroom of God and yoga. I’ve seen and felt a tremendous change and long for these moments in my day. Even have volunteered at church to teach the kiddos. And yet, like your honest list … I am so far short. My list will show me that. Thank you for the honest invitation.
Thank you Jack for your message. I can relate on so many levels to your message. I have so much to work on but I have hope that each day I can take steps to become a better person and a better Christian. I feel that this has clarified the direction that I need to take in my life.
As I started to make my list, I realized this is a helpful way to do an examination of conscience for Confession. "In what I have failed to do" so many moments and habits of mediocrity and failure to do God's Will in a superior way are coming to mind. Thank you so much for sharing these thoughts and your own personal list with us. With God's Grace in the Sacraments and the Holy Spirit moving through your words you're inspiring many people to be what God really wants them to be. Thank you!
Jack you hit the nail on the head....and I needed to hear this message, It's never enough what we are or do.....we can always do and be more for others.....thank you for this inspiring message ~ making my list and starting baby steps to go towards that superior life with Jesus.
Jack’s message rings so true with me. The past two years have almost forced me into mediocrity and complacency in my spiritual development and my relationship with Jesus. And that is painful. Thanks for your words of wisdom and thanks for your challenge.

Jack, that was excellent and I actually wrote down those two quotes from FS. I think of what I do, as average. I want to go that extra mile as being a Catholic Christian. And I want for ME to be a great woman, superior to the person I was years ago, a year ago, months ago, yesterday. Very excellent!!! Thank you for sharing your spiritual walk!
Thank you for this wonderfully inspiring message as your messages always are. I will be watching and listening to this one many more times as I am asking myself these same questions in my old age with that big 8 in front of my age. Your message is full of hope and I will continue to move forward to learn and be the best version of myself.
This was exactly what I needed to hear this morning. Yesterday, I was asked to respond to a request for help in a superior way. Honestly, I’m hesitating. But now I know what to do. Most of the time, acting in a superior way is a hard decision but it shouldn’t be. What would Jesus want me to do? I just have to listen! Thank you for sharing your struggle to be superior. We join you in that struggle.
Thank you Jack. It is amazing to me how sometimes these Feed Your Soul segments seem to be done for exactly what I need to hear. I listened to this segment 3 times and I heard more each time. I am committed to begin my list today.
I really enjoyed watching this presenter. Something about him wanted me to watch and listen. I do believe its really important the speaker "role" in a video vs the content. I recommend to use him more often. Content is very beautifully spoken! Loved it in many levels.
Your words are overwhelmingly and beautifully true…this morning I am speechless. On my knees every morning I will ask God to give me His superior grace and praying that…everyday I will grow in my strength to overcome mediocrity. Thank you Jack for your hopeful message that like so much of Jesus’ teachings asks us…how do you want to live?

Thank you I will strive to be superior to where I was yesterday this is such a great message especially with today’s gospel that’s perfect thank you!
Tremendous. I listened to this piece and it grew in wisdom and strength.
Now a greater purpose
Thanks so much Jack.
This is a powerful incite. You are right Bishop Sheen does challenge us. Thank you for sharing.

Good for you, Marianne! You're making progress. Well done. One step at a time.
Jack you are nailing something. Are we satisfied with doing the obvious, what is easiest to do without putting a cramp in our life?
Thank you very much for this inspirational message to become superior to the person we were yesterday and avoid a mediocre life.
This was AWESOME! Thank you!
