This is history. This goes for B.Belay and Hailu roth. why do we always see things only on the one side and try to blame the other side? They are just disclosing what they saw, what they know and had been participating. Its a part of our history whether we like it or not and it will be a great part of knowledge for the next generation since our future is the reflection of our past.

Good program but good God, the interviewer cannot shut up. What a talkative individual!!
Meison instigated and executed the red terror. Later it became a victim of its own terror program because Mengistu and Wez were afraid that Meison will do to them what they did to the EPRP. It was about who should move first. Mengistu was an expert in annihilating his petty bourgeois enemies. Meison praised and slept with a murderer and brought disaster on the Ethiopian youth and itself. Since Meison is the main instigator of the red terror, it is difficult to include it in the list of victims even though it suffered later from the medicine it cooked for others.
EPRP was not government. It did not control the military, the security, the banks, and other institutions of power. That is a key difference. Still the EPRP made many mistakes. So called 'tereba' was morally wrong and practically it pushed many to the arms of the Derg seeking protection. EPRP's urban armed struggle was a disaster. But the key problem of Meison, the EPRP, and others was their ideology. They believed in Marxism-Leninism. That in short meant only one party has the truth, and the rest must be annihilated. All the rest of the evil emanated from that crazy belief.
ሁሉ ሰው አነ ጥፋት ኣላደርግሁም ነው የሚለው. ራሱ መንግስቱ አነ ምንም ሰው ኣልገደልኩም ይላል። ታዲያ ማንው ወጣቱን የገደለው።፧፧
Everything has to be evaluated within the context and political, security conditions prevailing at the time. It was a political jungle of predators and preys and in order not to become the prey ( and lunch for the predator) you had no choice but to become the predator. Or at least act like one.
