Well done!! It would be nice in another video to see your whole collection of restored Matchbox. I think you have done it before, but since then, your collection has grown a lot more. Keep it up!!👍👍👍👍👍
Great restorations Jason 👍 I prefer the 5D because it has the interior and i notice that you have improved on the original by getting tge decals on straighter than they were out of the factory.
I live in Dublin growing up in the 70's the route master was a familiar sight in the black and Amber cie livery always remember the soundtrack of the six cylinder engine 👍
Excellent job. I came here because i recently found a Matchbox bus out metal detecting. Thanks to your descriptions i now know its a 5D Routemaster. Its paint is in just the same condition as your pre-resto one, but mine is missing its front wheels and axle. I'm going to see if i can locate a new set and then restore as you have done.
Pop rivets make good replacement axles (just remove the top of the rivet) and wheels are reproduced, probably available on eBay. Just make sure you get the right size and wheel nobliness! Keep me posted with how your restoration goes!
Those double deckers are iconic for both London and England……. I liked the family picture at the end where you show 4 generations of Double Deckers. I’m surprised that current Double deckers don’t have lifts in them for handicapped people….. Interesting video as always
lovely. :) not sure which would be my favorite, maybe the 5D for it's interior. I went to London with school class back in '85. we did many thiungs tourists do, but I missed out on catching a ride with the bus... London is a bit big for getting lost. XD but I caught a taxi at least, and the flea market at Portobello Road. :)
Complete shot in the dark, but would you be able to do my grandad/dad's mk 1 Ford escort? I have the model, which I had a go at years ago, but it's the wrong colour and the details aren't there. The actual car (stanley) was in a very bad crash, causing it to be written off. I have the photos of the car before and after the crash.
Not really. They are still incredibly common 60 odd years later, and those in this kind of condition are very low in value. It’s only pristine models, boxed models and rare variations that absolutely should be kept original. I can’t afford to buy perfect examples of everything Lesney produced so this is the next best thing!
The outro was excellent. I love these double deckers!
The buses look great! The Post Office Red was a good choice as I think it is closer to the original color. Thanks for sharing this.

Hey, Jason! You've got a fan from Brazil here. You're an inspiration for all of us in the resto-job. Thank you and congratulations. Beautiful job. :)
Thank you for the kind words, Vitor!
Nice restorations, details and paint job 👌 👍

Of course I can. Send me an email and we can chat more. My email address is in the video description
Is it sacrilege to do a custom of these old Lesney Matchboxes?
