Green was a bold choice, looks great. Fantastic brush work on the lights, grill, and door handles. With the cattle guard removed you can see a resemblance to the El Camino of the same period.
@@diecastflashback You're welcome. While the real standard Holden Ute had a more convex opening at the back, there have been countless body modifications by hot rod and drag racing enthusiasts resulting in similar customisations to your 'resto.' Especially in New Zealand, where I am from. I had the original toy you restored and modified. But mine had 7UP logos and was re-named a 'Ruff Trek.'
That's a beaut Ute there Don. You did us Aussie's proud. And yes a HJ/X is about right for that model. If you want to see the whole series of those Ute's I did a video Titled Building the Ultimate Matchbox Ute Muster. on my channel. Cheers JV
You chose nice colors. Successful renovation. I really like the details. Best wishes
Thank you very much! I had fun. Thanks for watching ✌️😎

Great job on the ute. I think you might find the grill is off a Holden 1 ton ute. Might find 1 close to the right 1 in the Chevy Chevelle castings?.
