It’s a complex issue. In many cases there are labels that offer no value. Kudos for getting rock-bottom prices. In other cases, however, label owners make significant efforts to ensure product quality, freedom from dangerous defects and reasonable conditions for workers. This can even apply to brand-name luxury items. The easiest way to split the difference is to buy cheap products (eg shoes, sunglasses) that don’t have fake labels. Then, brands with some level of integrity still get a premium for their efforts while consumers have the choice to get the cheapest item possible.
The problem is suppliers of suppliers like if somebody want make jean they will go to one jean suppliers (and these factory are always clean because foreigner visit them) but this factory work with a lot of other supplier for example suppliers will never show you how the raw materials are made and for example in india child labor is still existing so even if you buying top tier usa or europe made jean chance are the raw materials is still made not in the best conditions. Some brands like patagonia are trying to make effort but they can't get an eye on every step of the process. and basically luxury clothes are just marketing made in the same factory that mid tier product with no brand, at least with knock off you pay the real price (artistic intellectual property is another debate)
I dont want fake brand names since I support eco brands specifically that offer good pay and working conditions. A comprimise is unbranded products at mid prices

Bros knows how to negotiate
if they were chinese they would have paid $1 max
The reason they charge so much is because it’s a popular tourist place and a lot of foreigners don’t know the value and will just buy it
I got a huge plane model from the same store for only 10$ because I live here 😭

Which companies actually offer good pay and working conditions? Most clothes you wear were made by slave labor
