Salaam dowie, just letting you know brother that the story of the crucifixion about Jesus being replaced might not be 100% true as this came out of iraq and the Christians believed in this well some did, what could most likely happen is Jesus being on the cross, but Allah made him sleep/faint etc and they thought he was dead put him on the tomb then Allah woke him up and the angel gabriel came probably rolled the tomb over and then took him, however jesus dying on the cross could never ever happen as Jesus himself said that a prophet shall not be killed(not die from natural death like moses or prophet Muhammad phut) outside jerusalem, hence why the jews took him outside jerusalem for the crucifixion on top the one who is crucified in the OT is cursed which we know Jesus could never be even tho paul in his book admits jesus was cursed because he knew the law of the OT

I enjoyed this episode! He made a good point about there being a learning gap where elders aren’t there to pass wisdom to their children, so the youth are left to fend for themselves. And that type of neglect is the most severe one. With the way modern liberal society is set up, people are segregated by age groups but mixing between sexes, and we all know the results of that. While in the times of the Sahaba (radiallahu anhum) they were segregated by sexes but mixing between age groups. Boys learn from the mature men with life experience and girls learn from the mature women with life experience. Imam Malik (rahimahullah) was on point when he said “Nothing will rectify the last part of this Ummah except that which rectified its first part (i.e. the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ).” - [Reported by Ibn ‘AbdulHādi, in Tanqih at-Tahqiq 2/423] There’s a reason why the Quran stresses so much on us learning from history of past civilisations. And when we don’t take heed… history repeats itself. Over and over again.
Great discussion, MashaAllah. I love hearing these convert stories because they always remind me of my mom, who converted to Islam when she was 19. It was really hard for her when she converted, especially because the muslim community at the time wasn't as inviting and there weren't as many classes or options for people to learn about Islam.
Arguments are indeed pointless. Brother Michael’s attitude towards religious arguments reminds me of Prophet Abraham (ﷺ). In the 80th verse of Surat An’am, Allah quotes Abraham (ﷺ) telling his people, *“Are you arguing with me about Allah when He has guided me?”* There’s a passage in Surat Shura where Allah commands the Prophet (ﷺ) to say, *”There is no [need for] argument between us. Allah will gather us together [for judgment].”*

First thing that every muslim should learn is tawheed, knowing everything about Allah, His names and attributes, His rights over you, etc. Do not start with, "Don't do this, you should do that, you should wear that", but rather teach them the knowledge about Allah first. The more you know about Allah, the more you will love and fear Him, then the more you love and fear Him, the more you will be willing to submit and comply with His commands. P.S. : When you fear creation, you will run away from it. But when you fear your Creator, you will run to Him.
