@allooutrick it's a perler. There made from colored beads and a plywood board with spikes (don't know the right word to use) on each side of it so the beads will stay. I think u use hot glue too. There really cool and seem easy to make

Of course it's an edge, that's why it's another category -_-... You can do PAL, NTSC or NTSC-J or whatever and all those are different categories. It's just much more comfortable to actively run a game over and over with less text.

I saw a glitch used at the beginning of one Lttp speed run where link glitched somewhere inside Hyrule castle and sent him to the end of the game instantly. The completion time was about 5 minutes. Is this speed run purposefully being done without use of that glitch, or does anyone in the video know of it?
For the speed runners, japanese text compared to english shaves off several minutes of dialogue, which in turn, gives them an edge to make faster times. :P

I am Pro for Legend of Dragoon, AMAZING game, i'm playing it for the 3rd time right now. It is very very long, I have considered mastering it and creating a speed run for it. But it would take me some time, busy life, but i am considering it. Dart, Albert, Lavitz, they are my main duded!!. SPINNING CANE!!!
It's often not a strategy, often games are divided into different kinds of runs. Look at Ocarina of Time, japanese or english text are just different categories.
I've killed Mothula very quick before. It might have been the strategy that was talked about during the fight. I did it by accident. I believe at the beginning I shot him two times with the fire rod (maybe more or less) and then used a spin attack. The spin attack hit him twice, and he died. It was really fast. The music was like DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO... da da da da *dead*
daaamn! that was fast! i remember it took me months to complete it.... finding the flute was a bitch!!! it took me well over a month to find it... one of the best games ever and i can proudly say i finished without help or cheats/glitches
I'm a very good gamer, played and beat a lot of hard games and I do some stuff for speed, but once you guys start talking about "you have 50% chance to save a pixel" it blows my mind. Don't get me wrong, I'm a computer guy, I know exactly what you mean, but the idea of doing that in order to save second or minutes throughout a run puts you guys WAY ahead of me.
Neither can anyone else in this world, because that time is impossible for console runs on the SNES version. GBA could probably be that low with perfection though.

After watching this video a few times I tried to speedrun it.. Cyghfer makes it look so easy... I couldn't do half the things he could.
