no because that guitar has a tremolo and he has tuned it in B to sound like a 7 string..changing the tuning without changing strings will screw the intonation,the action,and the ability to stay in tune of the instrument..so its easier and it will cause less trouble to downpitch the backing track instead of messing with the guitar tuning.

Well played! But dude... you're choice of fretboard positions is really strange. Especially the clean intro with a 6-fret-stretch, like... what the hell? Just play it down on the 3rd fret incorporating the open D-string. It's easier and sounds a lot more like the original where the D-string rings throughout.
