Even if he CAN afford his own security, the position he is in should negate the need. It is THE GOVERNMENT who needs to protect him. Pelosi had better coverage that day. Waters did too. Think about that.
Now, too, Trump will travel from state to state, who all have different rules on bodyguards and carrying pew pews, not to mention the limits on what they can “do to protect” (no way a private bodyguard can sniper a gunman and get away with it). There isn’t time even to petition every state and municipality to “allow” such private protection between now and January let alone by the first week of November.
As a contractor, if somebody is killed because of my negligence, I can imprisoned for manslaughter. Doctors and nurses are held to the same level of responsibility. Why not here?

Honestly the more facts come out about the assassination attempt and how the secret service failed to stop it the more I find myself feeling like this might have been something that was allowed to happen and that the narrative that this was a failure of the secret service is simply the cover story.
