You sir have left no stone unturned when you build your models. I love the painstaking time you put into masking before painting. its like what a real life railroad would do. Details..impeccable!
I appreciate so much your kind comment. Makes me think I didn't waste my time doing these videos :). And yes, I agree completelly - prepairing is everything, and masking is most important for a good paint job.
I don't have much masking as I model late 80's Conrail...so it's just masking for walkways, sill plates, radiator grills, and steps. Keep up the videos!
Thanks a lot for your kind words. I simply follow the premise, if anything is worth doing, then what's the point if not doing it best I can... I'll try to post more videos of the sort...
Excellent work, really excellent, it is admirable to see how formidable performed work of art, I really have no words, I was amazed with his work. From Argentina congratulations !!!
Outstanding Sir!! I am an n scaler and am presently in the process of making 7375 and 7346 (as they seem to be a good starter project with not too much detail plus, this is my first custom paint project) although I have only finished stripping the units for repaint! Wish me luck please!! Amazing job yet again, I hope to do 1206 soon as well!
EKLinsky will do! 7375 is finished, waiting on one last side decal of 7346 (had to reorder them twice as they are super delicate and since I’m a beginner... ya I guess I f***ed em up a couple times). I’m Canadian too so 37% MORE on my end for each set PLUS 37% more in shipping!! But yes I’ll send you some pics forsure and honestly, I doubt I’ll be ready for 777 or 1206 so in the email, I may also ask about a possible one of those for myself as well from you if you still paint for customers. You can even use my pics for reference if you want as I’m sure you get a lot of questions about painting so maybe you could show em how to expect a beginner job to look.
Beautiful work on 1206. I think for the next model, you should do the steam engine from the 1980 slasher film TERROR TRAIN. The locomotive in the movie was Canadian Pacific now Ohio's Central 4-6-2 G5D Class 1293, in the middle the train was painted Black while Silver stripes or Accents. That would be a totally awesome idea for a movie train model. Donald you think? Please leave a like and comment. Still love you 1206 model, just thought I'd give an idea. Please and Thank you.
Thanks Federico. I'll soon start dismantling the layout, as I have plan to build a new modular one... And I do have a (emotional) problemto start with dissamsembling....
I understand as i'm going to design a modular layout of a yard, hills and desert..mostly.. by the way what is the command station i see at the end of the video? I don't like DCC stuff (kind of old style ho engine train fan) but i would like to improve the brain side of the layout...
I heard Amtrak is replacing the P42 so I don't really feel like collecting Amtrak. Then I tried to start P&W but they got brought out I think my next railroad is AWVR nice video
Awesome job! I love this movie and have it on DVD which I watch allot. Always wanted a model of the 1206 but just don't have the skill you do to model it. Again awesome job!
Man! your the best. You put them all to shame. You should slow it down to normal speed and explain what you're doing even if it takes 2-3 hours. That thing you do with the small black decal lines wow! Unbelievable!!!
incredible work my only critique is I wish you would have made it DCC and Sound, and also did a light weathering job on it. for all the days of work you put in it needs those 2 things to bring it over the top. hope you charge a lot of money for the 80hr of labor.
Thanks Zack. It is actually more like 15-20 hours of work (depending if everything goes smooth). This one was DCC equipped, but as regard to sound & weathering, it really depends on client order. My owns are indeed lightly weathered and sound equipped.
Hey man I am probably your newest subscriber and I just wanted say your trains are great this coming from a 8 year old who paints destroyed wooden trains they're destroyed by my family's dog anyways just want to say hi and your trains are great
Very incredible work! You're very good with movie replications as already defined with your AWVR and Grand Continental units. Have you ever considered doing other movie trains, something like the Illinois Southern units from The Fugitive or the 4 Alaska RR lash-up units from Runaway Train? Obviously doing these takes a lot of time and hard work, but money orders are something you could give a try if it's not too overwhelming. I'd buy custom painted units from you and I'm sure a bunch of others would as well!
Thanks for your kind comment. In fact yes, I am or was doing most of the Hollywood locomotives, including Silver Streak and also Runaway Train - you may see picture of my Runaway Train models here triple7studio.wixsite.com/kalinski/about1-c1qi6?lightbox=i251usw For details please contact me on my email from the end of the "making of..." video.

EKLinsky. First I want to say a very nicely done custom HO Scale Locomotive. Was anything hard during the process? Did you make a little screw up, or are you that skilled you don't make a mistake?
Well, I sure made some screw ups in the beggining, but after several hundred custom painted locos and as many cars, I've learned my way around it. It is not hard, but I use to say, preparation is everything. Patience and lot of attention. If there's mistake (like paint dripping), it means starting anew, strip off the paint, and paint it again. So, the bottom line, no mistakes allowed :)
You had me dancing all along the built LOL! It looks awesome!!! How long did it actually take? and can you build me one? Wow!! for the layout at the end. You have a new subscriber. Thanks for sharing. RT
Thanks for such a nice comment. 12-15 hours of work are condensed into this half an hour video :). At the end of the video is my email adress, so contact me about making 1206...
Yes I do. About that please contact me on my email (at the end of closing credits of this video). The web site is quoted in the video description above. Thanks :)
Erik, your the man and now a video star. Now all can appreciate the effort that goes into your work. Excellent!
You sir have left no stone unturned when you build your models. I love the painstaking time you put into masking before painting. its like what a real life railroad would do. Details..impeccable!

I am amazed by how your hand is stable and you put attention on each and every detail. Hats Off to you
Thanks a lot mate.
It’s been a while since I last watched your videos but I still can’t get around at how movie accurate this. It’s flawless.
Such an incredible attention to detail. I'm simply blown away by your artistry. Thanks so much for posting this video.
Thanks a lot for your kind words. I simply follow the premise, if anything is worth doing, then what's the point if not doing it best I can... I'll try to post more videos of the sort...

That is hyper realistic. Amazing work!

Wow, customizing the locomotive is really cool to watch!!! You are really awesome.
learning and enjoying so much just by seeing you at work! Very detailed and realistic layout!
Thanks Federico. I'll soon start dismantling the layout, as I have plan to build a new modular one... And I do have a (emotional) problemto start with dissamsembling....

EKLinsky. First I want to say a very nicely done custom HO Scale Locomotive. Was anything hard during the process? Did you make a little screw up, or are you that skilled you don't make a mistake?

Thanks a lot for your comment. This video represents some 15 working hours from start to finish a loco like that.
Do you make these engines for people at a cost? If so do you have some kind of website or store online to order one of these to be made?
Yes I do. About that please contact me on my email (at the end of closing credits of this video). The web site is quoted in the video description above. Thanks :)
You built models for years didn't you? I don't think I could have those skills to do that.

What tool are you using to drill out the holes for the grab irons holes?
Ordinary hand twist drilling tool. The drill bit is 0,4mm
