My mother in law was working with your wife at the bank in Cullman. I had her get your autograph on my issue of bass masters magazine at the time . Your our type of Hollywood star here in the real world, country style.Attah boy!
Gerald! You just turned what became a shit day into a great one! Thank you sir for putting a smile on my face. I wish you massive luck in the next derb. Peace.
All I can say is.....thank goodness the "summer break" is about over and you're about to get back to tourney fishing. HAHA. Love the "engineering" spirit, G. Never a dull moment with you.
LMAO. Going to share this with the high school team I boat captain with. They will love it. Everyone should be Gerald Swindle in there approach to life. Well done, both of you.
M’s husband, float and fish down stream and when ready blow up stream. Being a plumber I do believe you’ll get better air flow eliminating the 90’s and going straight cherry bomb. Great idea!
And another note.....Not sure what's better, your off the wall thoughts, or a good woman who is right by your side, making those thoughts come to fruition. Awesome stuff.
We are watching the beginning evolution of a new aircraft carrier😎 I love this video! The wifes commentary adds greatly to the almost british type comedy👍 with that said, few folks mentioned to reduce the end which will give more thrust, i would try reducing to 1/2 diameter 1st, and dont give up the video is a good one id love to see more
I stumbled across this little gem while researching silly ways to make my own silly redneck raft out of a couple 55 gallon drums with my son for his birthday camping trip. I really wanted to use some silly way of propelling our little boating abomination, and it is fun to see somebody test this one out! I'm a couple of years late on this comment, but I couldn't help but share some of the stuff I found when researching waterjets and propellers and such. You can skip to the last paragraph if you want to read the only part that a normal person probably would've posted. 😂 The VERY BASIC science behind the thrust of your leaf blower setup (or any jet/fan/propeller) really comes down to Isaac Newton's famous law that every action has an equal and opposite reaction tied to his famous formula of "Force = Mass X Acceleration." You might remember "F=M*A" from high school physics. When you are talking about systems that move fluids like jets and propellers, then the "Force" we are trying to create is usually called "thrust." In this video, the "thrust" is the equal and opposite reaction of the air pushing against the leaf blower when the leaf blower pushes the air out of its nozzle. The "Mass" is basically the volume or amount of the air/water being pushed out of your leaf blower, and the "Acceleration" is how much faster that air is moving when it leaves your leaf blower compared to when it entered the machine. Therefore, if you want more thrust from any fan/propeller, you will need either (1) bigger fan that moves more air at the same speed -OR- (2) a well-designed nozzle that sacrifices a little bit of that volume of air BUT outweighs the sacrifice by really really increasing the speed of the air coming out of the fan. (The "M" in the equation gets a little smaller, but it is being multiplied by a MUCH larger "A.") HOWEVER, if you are using the second method, then you need to know that you can only shrink the diameter of the nozzle so much until you reach a tipping point where the nozzle ends up "choking" the volume output of the blower more than it speeds up the air. That is the point where you start decreasing the amount of thrust all the way down to the silly situation of having zero thrust produced by your completely sealed air tube. (Note that Both of these oversimplified explanations assume you are not changing the speed of the fan itself because you already maxed it out or somthing. Also note that, if you want more thrust, then you would obviously want to increase both the "Mass" AND the "Acceleration" if you have the ability to do so!) At any rate, I brought all that up just to say that it is funny how our intuition makes us want to treat the air as if it is a solid stick and push it against the ground or push it against the water to get more thrust. However, we must remember that the leaf blower in this video is NOT using the AIR to push against the WATER; the blower is ACTUALY using its IMPELLER to push against the AIR! Once the air has left the blower, it has essentially provided all of its usefulness. In other words, when you put the end of the blower next to the ground, the air does indeed push against the earth, BUT the "equal and opposite reaction" of the earth pushing back against the air molecules does NOT transfer all the way back up through the column of air and push against the leaf blower. The air molecules instead just bounce in all directions off of the ground and causes more turbulence at the output of the blower. Similarly, the only thing the happens when you put the nozzle under water is you have significantly increased the pressure that the air must fight against to exit the nozzle which drastically reduces the efficiency of the blower. As a bons, putting the blower into the water also creates another source of drag and turbulence that makes it harder to move that boat. Long story short, I would be VERY interested to see you experiment with putting different sized nozzles on the leaf blower to see if you can find that sweet spot that maximizes thrust caused by speeding up the air before you start to lose thrust from choking out the volume/mass of air.
Great video. I'm stealing your line: "My physics is off"." I couldn't stop laughing. Thanks for a great start to my day!!! I agree with BassnBuckBilly, you should try reducing the outlet in gradients per a jet engine.
This would be viewed as a normal thing on lake Hartwell lol I was beating docks with a swim jig last week and saw a guy rig a echo weed eater into a outboard engine on his Jon boat
Did you try adapting down from 3" to 1". Like when you want better water pressure? Great ideal, I have a canoe and a 4 cycle leaf blower gonna give it a shot! Lol
Gerald I’ll tell you what you gotta be the best guy on planet Earth I watch many videos of you doing things smart things talkative things I mean I watch this about any via RUclips video you made and I’ll say one thing you’re a genuine guy if you were running for president I would definitely vote for you fix it and made sure that you would be president you’re entertaining you and Lulu are the most powerful couple I have ever come across on any entertainment or video platform or I can’t see in person because I’ve never met you guys yet but you guys seem awesome I wish you guys the best Gerald rip some lips please stay calm stay who you are because who you are is exactly what people want you to be and if you are that everything will come together Gerald if I had one wish and I was the day tomorrow it would be to shake your hand because you’re an inspiration to a lot of people and you just don’t know it…..!!!
I took the internal blower, motor/pump out of a King size blow-up mattress, (110 volt) as it still works, but the mattress had too many leaks, so I ditched it and now I'm pondering whether or not I can rig that pump into the back of my kayak to make it go!
You mentioned physics and you were right! Some very simple rocket science wouls improve this design! All you need is a nozzle on the end and straighten that flow out! Read up on simple rocket nozzles and try again!
This has me thinking… if i recall if neck the pipes down should have more pressure fine line between power and pressure though…. Keep this testing alive
Hey Gerald just a thought...Can ya reduce the fittings down to like 2” with bushings? I bet it’ll fly then!My wife was gonna kill me cause I was gonna do the exact same thing with our blower lol!Good luck up north!Keep him straight MRS.Lulu I know it’s hard to do.We enjoy watching you 2.👍🏼👍🏼
I was thinking the same thing. Get a 3x2 fitting and maybe using two 45’s instead of the 90’s would also help reduce the air flow reduction. Increased pressure and decreased flow reduction
thats the key, focus the pressure, the water is too dense to move, but maybe, I would try to get it down to inch and a half or quarter, the smaller the better I would think
try a T fitting with a long sweep. Think of like a power washer with the soap cup, the air will push by, suck water from the inlet and push it out the back. Might work

Sometimes a feller just needs to stick with what he's good at lol 😆
Bullshitn lol
@@fillup8177 Lol 🤣, Ole Gerald is a good one. I can listen to him for hours, would love to spend a day fishing with him.
ruclips.net/video/aRp1CsK95ww/видео.html
the solution is here
Haha that was great. I could watch you two all day every day.
Quality Entertainment 😂 I appreciated that haha
I'm at home sick with an infection. I needed this today. That was very entertaining Gerald. Thank you so much for the video.
G Man, ya'll got great chemistry... you are a wealthy man when your Lady laughs at or with you! God Bless!
Gerald! You just turned what became a shit day into a great one! Thank you sir for putting a smile on my face. I wish you massive luck in the next derb. Peace.
I have to say, if I ever need to smile and have a good laugh, I can always count on you G👍🏻👍🏻
All I can say is.....thank goodness the "summer break" is about over and you're about to get back to tourney fishing. HAHA. Love the "engineering" spirit, G. Never a dull moment with you.
Looked especially great on Fast Forward. Needed some humor after a long day. Thanks for sharing.
Meanwhile, the sales of fishing kayaks and leaf blowers have skyrocketed. Funniest stuff I've seen in a while...and I want one.
That was the best thing! I’ve laughed all the way to work. Just…. “It didn’t go nowhere 😂😂 keep up the great work!
There is a invention called trolling motor!!!! 😂😂 this was a good un thanks G man!
LMAO. Going to share this with the high school team I boat captain with. They will love it. Everyone should be Gerald Swindle in there approach to life. Well done, both of you.
She flys gman good stuff
M’s husband, float and fish down stream and when ready blow up stream. Being a plumber I do believe you’ll get better air flow eliminating the 90’s and going straight cherry bomb. Great idea!
Hilarious GMan. Thanks for sharing this with us.
I love you and your wife! You guys are great!!
This is probably one of the greatest videos on the interwebs! 🤣😂🤣😂
I think Hobie gonna be knockin your door down for a patent on that 😂😬 Thank-you for the highlight of my day 👍🏻🎣
Love it. Might scare the fish though.😂😂😂😂🤣😂😂🤣
Just Had the idea to do this myself and looked it up to see if anyone had done it!!!! Awesome haha
We're like minded fellas 😅
And another note.....Not sure what's better, your off the wall thoughts, or a good woman who is right by your side, making those thoughts come to fruition. Awesome stuff.
Man you are crazy!!!! Always a treat to watch your videos......

Rocket powered jet kayak!!!! You are the man G!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dude....lol!!!! That is some funny sh--!!! With no Alcohol involved!!!!
Great video. I'm stealing your line: "My physics is off"." I couldn't stop laughing. Thanks for a great start to my day!!! I agree with BassnBuckBilly, you should try reducing the outlet in gradients per a jet engine.
Another g man special be safe out there bud and stay blessed.
Best damn video I have ever seen lol!!!
Your my Favorite Gerald! There’s no pro as cool as you!
That's is an awesome piece of engineering GMAN. Keep o the great work and good luck the rest of the season.
This would be viewed as a normal thing on lake Hartwell lol I was beating docks with a swim jig last week and saw a guy rig a echo weed eater into a outboard engine on his Jon boat
I love this guy 😂 G-Man big pimpin’
Hells to the yeah! The community is grateful you set the speed governor to 120 instead of lettin her rip. Lol
thanks for the good laugh this morning I needed that today
Nice day here in Perth Western Australia...even better when I am laughing my arse off watching you bro. Made my morning Peace Man
Did you try adapting down from 3" to 1". Like when you want better water pressure? Great ideal, I have a canoe and a 4 cycle leaf blower gonna give it a shot! Lol
Love this. Take the two elbows off run it straight you will probably have more power. You did make it move.
Friggin love it bro....you da man!
Love vid you all have a blast!!!!!
You're a genius

You’ve got yourself a good womern!! Fun video my man!
I just want one full weekend with yall!!! LOL. It would be a blast.
Day Day Jones for the wizzin. this is pimpin' in the rawest form.
Just maybe, 2 blowers.... And wheelie Bars for the Kayak of course....lol great video
Ok, that was funny. And worth a shot.
It's absolutely awesome when you speed it up about 25 times.
God I wish I was your neighbor.. it has to be a blast and hilarious!
LOL take that elbows off (straight rocket) Lol 🤙🏼
You need two leaf blowers lol😂 However I have a weed eater engine on my kayak that I put a tiny prop on. It moves like a Strapped ape!
a nice quiet day on the water
This was hilarious. Funny content.
Need to patent that ish! You the Man G!
G-man you a trip but I still love ya brotha!
I took the internal blower, motor/pump out of a King size blow-up mattress, (110 volt) as it still works, but the mattress had too many leaks, so I ditched it and now I'm pondering whether or not I can rig that pump into the back of my kayak to make it go!
Excellent video really enjoyed it thanks 😊
Just need two or three of those bad boys lined up
You mentioned physics and you were right! Some very simple rocket science wouls improve this design! All you need is a nozzle on the end and straighten that flow out! Read up on simple rocket nozzles and try again!
Thanks for the early mornin' entertainment on converting a kayak to an air boat. Maybe two blowers would get you there. Version 2?
Love it G!! 🤘🏽
Many laughs 😂thank you
This has me thinking… if i recall if neck the pipes down should have more pressure fine line between power and pressure though…. Keep this testing alive
Hilarious! Reminds me of the Red Green Show.
Gman- ya gotta neck it down, son! Go from blower to 1 1/2" pipe....now yer talkin'!!!
Exactly. Smaller outlet pushing off the water.
thats the key, focus the pressure, the water is too dense to move, but maybe, I would try to get it down to inch and a half or quarter, the smaller the better I would think
The trick would be to add 2 more. You would be going places.
try a T fitting with a long sweep. Think of like a power washer with the soap cup, the air will push by, suck water from the inlet and push it out the back. Might work
Expected a hydro motor , ended with a airboat . Nice
You need a stihl BR 800 backpack blower on that bad boy!!
Amazing videos the best shows❤
Funny as hell..."encase it get on top of the water and start China walkin". Lmao!!! Omg
its good entertaint broo nice :D
You have to make the second connection smaller diameter to force the air out quicker
The ol turtle always beats the hare G man!
I was fishing on Guntersville Lake this morning.
So we probably not going to see this at the Icast show this year🤣 Great video!!!!
The chine walk on that beast looks scary. You need bigger grab handles maybe an aquatic airbag for safety. Good video G.
best one on youtube
He’s a good aerator for the pond
Pretty awesome
I feel like I'm being TROLLED 😮😅😂
Hey, Great idea. Keep refining it and do another video
Y’all are awesome buddy
Git it, G!!
You better Trademark your Swindle Kayak Propulsion System, before all the manufacturers steal it. Great video, great couple.
Looks to me like you need to get rid of the elbows…and make it a TWIN jet drive.
You are the man 😎
Look out Shark Tank…this guy is on to something ….we need more inventor’s
Grass stuck in my prop. Pisses me off…. Lmao 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great job! It moved!!!
Awesome wonder if ya put a fan or propeller in end of pipe have the air turn the blades?
You are the man! Redneck Engineering Masters Degree. Lulu wanted to see you go in lol
This guy is a genius genius
This is my kind of tomfoolery 😂
"Throw the clutch to it", lol
Pardon my English,I'm fuckin' cryin'...y'all crack me up! PMA!
