  • How Much Do Glasses Really Cost? Ehhhhhhhh ... endmyopia.org/...
    I grew up with glasses, 5.00 diopter high myopia, and yet today have 20/20 natural eyesight. No surgery, no glasses, I figured out how myopia actually works and how to reverse it (and no, not eye exercises!) The mainstream tells you it's impossible - but the whole concept that myopia is an illness, is complete unscientific nonsense (a 100 billion dollar a year profitable nonsense, though).

    Your method works. Went to the optometrist the other day and she confirmed a 10% improvement. Didn't mention what I am doing. With better lighting results would have been even better. Of course I am not going to follow her "prescription". Thank you Jake, I like your videos and blog so much . The only method I know of that works.

    Good vídeo, Jake. It seemed you were explaining my story in optic shop 2 weeks ago when asking for the second pair of glasses. I said one friend of mine uses lower prescription for computer and he says it's better for eyes, and me, i always get my eyes burning after work (the second part is true), at first he said it's good choice after 40 but as i am stubborn he acceeded of course, i'm a good client. 2 more things: you didn't imitate the italian guy strongly enough, haha, and second you are right, russians are far forward than others in some subjects that our society wants to keep secret. Enjoy your outside time! As for me, time for gardening!

    6:50 In Spain is exactly the same thing. Optometrist (even doctors who should help you) never gives you what you REALLY need and also don't trust to you because they are "the professional" And that s*cks! How could you trust in someone who wants for you spending money in things that you don't really need (expensive glasses, contact lenses, a really expensive and dangerous operation...)?

    went to the local optomestrist and asked if they could offer cheap glasses for close up distance. What they offered was glasses for 200 euros. I will need a lot patience with this.

      Gautam Keshari thank you very much for your reply . I have a little unclear about active focus ? if i am correct it means taking break from close up and focusing far away things without glasses even if blur . please tell me if i am correctly understanding or not .

    Most of those guys at lens shops aren't allowed to call themselves doctors since they don't have he knowledge of one. Opticians and Optometrists are *not* doctors. Ophthalmologists are doctors

    Hello everybody. I went from -2.5/-2.5 glasses to -1.25/-1.00 in few months(less than half a year). But this is obvious stuff.
    Looking forward for next 0.25 reduce, it will mean so fkin much and it will prove possibility to go to 20 20.

      Hi, congratulations on your progress! It's great to hear about success stories. I have been trying to master active focus but to little success. Do you mind telling me your experience on achieving AF?

    • @MrNDQuattro
      @MrNDQuattro 6 лет назад +1

      You see, I didn't even know about active focus throughout my way here. I just started wearing lower prescription, added more distance looking, breaks during near work, reduced life stress and tried to be more positive.
      I feel like looking in distance at buildings and playing tennis contributed the most.
      So I just removed my ciliary muscle spasm which is actually easy to do.
      What about mastering active focus, now I feel like reading on the edge of blur is something close. But taking breaks every 20m or something.

    UK, went to many optic shops they usually laugh and say "with this much dioptres there's no way in hell you can get a smaller correction" I'm like -3.5 ... The funny thing is that I get different prescription every single time. Last time I got -5 left and -4 right when I went to another shop they measured me -4, -3.5

    • @endmyopia
      @endmyopia  5 лет назад +2

    How to do this with a very high prescription? The glasses will be like window glasses until you decide for more expensive (thin) ones. :(

    If you buy in bulk, can get replacement lenses starting at $9 per pair, anti-reflective included.
    Contact 'Bestoptical' on eBay. This may also be used as a test lens kit.
    Buy their frame, or ship them your existing frame.

    Some optics recommend using glasses that protect from blue light when working on the computer, even for people with perfect vision. What do you think on this?

    • @endmyopia
      @endmyopia  6 лет назад +5

      Meh. Clinical science jury is out on that one. I’d go for less screen time altogether and not worry about the blue light too much. ;)

      @@endmyopia Syria, ppl go to an ophthalmologist here, optometrists dont exist, I didn't like the doctor measurements so i wrote my old prescription on a piece of paper and had it made in a glasses shop, fancy frames and blue light lenses (I dont like these they make the world a bit yellowish , I didn't know any better at the time ) for about 6 $, glasses shops here are all small business and lenses prices are government controlled, we have a union for everything 😂

  • @seemedecrazymuse
    @seemedecrazymuse 5 лет назад

    I was just thinking that since I got contacts, there's never been an optometrist I've seen who has measured my eyesight without the lenses. They always did it with the lenses in, so if my eyesight did magically get better one time, they would never know. I would always have to end up with either the same prescription or higher correction, there would be no other option. Why do optometrists measure on top of lenses? Why not from ground zero? hmmm

    i started watching this right after i got my previous glasses.. just ordered my new lenses now and my optometrist was not happy i wanted to gofrom -3.25, 3.00 to -1.75 on both eyes.. she's like i can have them ordered for you but i cant stand responsible if you get headache and want refund ect... 0 trust in my attempt to fix myopia.

    • @endmyopia
      @endmyopia  6 лет назад +4

      Based on how you present that here, I'd not be happy either. That's a huge drop without any clear explanation that would make sense (ie if it was for close-up, for example). If you're making that reduction for distance vision, it might not be a brilliant idea.

    • @Zolfried
      @Zolfried 6 лет назад

      its for my 2nd pair of glasses.. my gunnars, which is made for pc use... she agreed on lower prescription for the closeup, but she thought evening out both eyes was a bad idea and would do more harm then good.
