    Ed is a great guy. Several years ago, I stopped by his Sunnyvale home to purchase three Ed Fong J-poles. They work beautifully.

    That was a fantastic live stream, I enjoyed every minuet of it and I learned a lot. Thanks to Dr. Fong for taking the time and thanks to Josh for getting him here tonight.

    Just listening to this for the first time He's definitely an engineering prof. Very cool. I'm actually going to have to sit down, focus, and watch again. My engineering brain will probably hurt afterwards. 🤣🍻

    This was awesome. I just went through the extra class book again as a refresher (fast track ham) and I understood so much more now than last time. And now I understood a lot more of what Dr. Ed was saying.

    Just about to order one. Your videos pushed me over the edge. Gotta have a nice compact field radio kit. His antenna is perfect for that application.

    I love Eds roll up Jpoles I carry one with me most of the time. They just work.

    It's a sin to not have Dr Fong connect with a wired connection and a microphone/headphones.

    "I am the wisest man alive, for I know one thing, and that is that I know nothing" Plato.
    You don't know what you don't know. If you were to ask some engineers in the mid 50's what the next breakthrough in amplifier design might be, they would say that we already know all of the tube configurations there are for amplifier design. Ask others and they might say, finding ways to develop a new tube that is small for small signal amplifier design (nuvistors). Ask others and they might say that solid state appears to be something we can make work in the future.
    If we know the math behind antennas, why can't anyone give me the math behind where common mode currents are developed on the outer skin of the coaxial shield? Why is common mode currents not in antenna simulation modeling software? Why doesn't a 1:1 transmission line transformer change anything in modeling software? Balanced/unbalanced? What mathematical explanation is there for that?
    If we know all of the math, where is it?

    Any University, or company that "owns your work" is a thief! I was a professor for a number of years. Any company that you are requires to turn your own thoughts and work over to them are nothing less than the worst kind of thief!
    I under stand that what you do for your job belongs to them but what you do that is not job related or is not done during work ours is yours!
