Sissel, i just jave to say that i absolutely love your content. I went back to watch your videos that i missed. Im curretly watching videos from 3 years ago and i just love seeing your relationship with Jake growing and you speaking of maybe wanting a kid in the future not knowing you will have one sooner than you thought. Just your videos about loving yourself and being kind to yourself. It has put me in a really positive mood. I hope you are doing well, hope your body mind and soul is healing because having a baby is beautiful but it can take a toll on you. Please take care and I wish you and your family the best.
That’s so beautiful, thank you love 💚
The greatest gift my husband gave me when I had our baby was alone time - even if it was just a bath or to read a book . I loved my babies, but those few minutes were heaven
It’s not a gift he’s also a parent
@@PreppyPoly when they're young they heavily rely on us (the mom), for comfort, milk etc. Nobody wants a crying baby for long, that would be cruel too. Small breaks are amazing, most mom's also don't wanna be apart from our baby for too long
I'm so happy you posted a vlog again! It is always so comforting to see you. I hope you're doing well. Don't stress out yourself, do everything in your own pace. We will patiently wait for your updates.
Thank you for saying that 💚
In Russia they also walk with newborns from the first days of their life. winters can be cold, but this doesn’t stop mothers from going for walks - the main thing is to apply anti-chapping cream to the baby’s cheeks (only if it’s not -25 outside haha) I think if you don't go outside for 100 days you can go crazy
and if it is difficult for a mother to go outside with her child in winter (perhaps because of snowdrifts or ice or poor health), then usually the stroller with the dressed child is taken out to the balcony and he sleeps there and breathes the air
and in the first days/weeks after returning from the maternity hospital, the mother of the woman in labor usually comes to help, but some cope on their own
In case no one has told you lately, you are a very beautiful woman, Sissel. You are a wonderful wife and outstanding mother. The younger generation could learn a lot about life watching your videos. Keep up all the good work!
That’s so sweet💚
New UK grandparent here and remember as a new mother I wanted to be in my own bubble so I get what you are saying. My parents were respectful but my mother in law didn’t get it and really put pressure on by making comments to my husband, who thankfully supported our decisions. My first grandchild is only weeks old and I spent the time bringing myself up to date with new methods. I’ve made sure I knew what the parents wanted and have waited to be invited and it was well worth it, long cuddles and lots of shared information about the birth and kept up to date. I’m a believer of outdoor sleeps in the fresh air, introducing baby to the world. Seeing you enjoy your moment out to yourself is so healthy for your mental wellbeing, I’ve just offered my services for an hour in the day if the new mum wants time to herself, be it a luxury bath, coffee out or just a walk to sit in the fresh air. Loving your content ❤
You sound like a wonderful grandmother. Congratulations on the little one 💚
@ thank you. I had heard about the over whelming love and care you feel for your grandchildren but didn’t realise how strong it is. My grandchild like Noa is going to be bilingual so I would be interested to hear how you approach this with Noa, but I suppose he will be trilingual.
oh gosh, that is so lovely ❤ sometimes that's all you need to be okay
12:54 its like that in my culture too. Things are a bit more lenient these days but growing up, I knew that baby and mother would stay inside for the first 3 months and only close family is allowed to see them. The only time they would go outside is to register the birth or for checkups at the clinic
So interesting !! 💚
You honestly radiate such an effortless mom energy ❤️ and I loved the insight of how the power lies in how we interpret things, not people’s words. Thank you, I needed to hear this ❤️
Ps. I feel like Noa’s spirit animal could be a bear, sleeping through winter 😂🐻
💚
Hi Sissel 😊 when I went out without baby, I liked to think "I have plenty of one-on-one time with the baby, (during maternity leave) but husband doesn't, so this is his chance to have his quality time. Another interesting fact in your video was the 100-day thing. In Turkey it's 40 days. And usually mom's and babies don't go out in the first 40 days, then it's all free. We love to be out and about, we also take the kids with us when we go out in the evening. Not all the time of course. Babies, children need stimulation, and structure, and sometimes, when it gets too monotonous, adventure is wonderful. You're doing great mama 🎉🧿
I am so amazed by how you see the world from a positive side! It inspires me to change my thinking in a more positive direction and just relax) Thank you for new video! You are amazing, Sissel!❤
Åh, dejligt med ny video
Åhh tak💚
I think Noa will be a quick and strong baby learning fast.
He has such good neck control. And honestly I think using the baby carrier helps a lot.
We exclusively used our ergobaby the first, like 4-5 months, because our baby hated the stroller. And she also had great neck control and now at 9 months she's trying her best to walk😵💫
Cherish this time as much as you can. Before you know it he will be standing up holding onto your pants, yelling at you to pick him up or give him whatever you're holding😂.
Sissel 6 years in Korea? Wow that’s amazing, I’m sure the minute you hit the you tube scene I followed you. I kinda knew you were going to be successful somehow whether you were struggling with your personal things ,modeling ,analyzing Korean music, culture or whatever. I’m glad you found your passion and yourself, I’m here to support you all the way girl…keep going.
Thank you love 💚
In Greece the mother stays at home for the first 40 days after giving birth. Then she visits her local church and the priest gives her and her baby blessings. Then she can go outside again for socialising.
That’s so interesting! 💚
In these 20 minutes so many important things were mentioned and I really admire your strength 🪐💛 And Noa is truly a big boy I am so glad he is growing well 💛
Thank you so much 💚
This is so interesting to me as someone who studied intercultural communication at uni, thank you so much for sharing your experience being a mother in a completely different environment💚💚💚
It's lovely to see you so happy Sissel :]
I love spending my Sunday afternoons with you sissel 🥹🤍
Awww that means a lot to me💚
My first comment even though I've been an avid viewer,I must say the growth that has emerged over the course of months is undeniably obvious and beautiful, your effort goes unnoticed and I love how you share them and also how every new upload is a testament of the work you put in before. Everytime I watch a new video, it's all I see and that's so empowering to watch . Thank you Sissel🤍🤍
That’s so kind of you, thank you love 💚
Would love a vlog on you just cleaning your space or even chilling at home ❤ glad to see you and noa are doing well sissel, and thank you for taking us on your adventures 😇
Coming up! 💚🥰
It was interesting hearing about the culture shocks of having a baby in Korea, I actually had no idea that having a kid there is a status symbol and that baby things are expensive as I truly thought they were encouraging people to have babies. How is it encouraging when everything is so expensive?😅🙈
I love that everyone is being understanding though and just showing that they worry, it's sweet and I completely agree with you about us having the power to change how words effect us (I can't remember how exactly you phrased it but you did it beautifully).
I've been loving watching your vlogs as I've been missing Korea a lot and want to move back💕
I'm glad you have some time to yourself as well, Jake truly is a very supportive partner and I'm glad you have him in your life
🥰
You are such a good mom!!! so wonderful the way you keep calm and loving with your baby. Please continue to listen only to your motherly instincts and intuitions. You come from a very wise and wonderful nordic culture, and leaning on that should give you a lot of confidence. I love your content and I wish you happy days taking care of your child yourself and your lovely husbend. You both are doing a great job! just keep healthy and safe sending you lots of love. 💕💕😘😘
watching your videos after work feels like a little treat for my soul haha motherhood suits you Sissel, you’re glowing ♡
i just love your voice, is so calm and soothing. I hope you, your husband, and your baby have a great day. Again i am so sorry that i commented about Noa's face 😕. I love your content
This was such a beautiful video! Everytime I watch your content it lifts up my mood and makes my day so much better! Thank you Sissel! 🥰
Hi Sissel! New subscriber and first time commenting. I started following your motherhood journey and I love your positivity and how well you articulate the feeling of being a new mum, I was a total mess during my postpartum and the first year and couldn't have put 2 and 2 together. I totally understood that little happy dance and the joy of being outside. My baby is 3 now but I still call myself a new mum.
I really love your vlog! It makes me feel so cozy and relaxed. As a Korean, I can totally relate to all the cultural shocks you’ve experienced 😂. Sometimes I think about having a baby, but the financial worries scare me... Still, your videos remind me how joyful and meaningful it is to have a child. I’ll be looking forward to your next update! Wishing your family lots of happiness :)
That makes me happy to read 💚 I hope you’ll get everything you dream of!
It's so beautiful seeing you share positivity and love through your motherhood journey Sissel ❤️
I missed the vlogs soo much, every time i get the time to watch it,im going right into it, by the way, you're doing such a great job being a mom, handling everything, the baby's needs ecc. Noa it's growing up so much already,he's too cutee,i can't go a minute without saying " how cute is this baby is" 💚
I think you have beautifully adjusted to a new you. Loved your trip to the cafe. Love seeing your joy. Thank you for sharing this you with us.
Thank you💚
My favorite girl who is a mummy now🫶🏼 Sissel never doubt yourself you are doing great and even if you mess up sometimes it doesn't matter because that's life. Wish the best for your beautiful family 💛
love seeing you hit your stride as a mother! Thanks for honestly sharing your thoughts and experiences with us 💚
Most of us weren't shocked about the baby being outside in cold weather (I'm from a part of the US that has really cold winters), it was videos where the mom sits inside the cafe and leaves the baby outside. I wouldn't care how safe a country is, it only takes a few seconds for a kidnapping to happen.
Leaving your kid outside is incredibly safe in Denmark. Perhaps cause it’s happening that kids are being kidnapped in the states that you feel unsure about the idea? 💚
You're doing a great job
Dear Sissel,
I'm so proud of you! 💚
You are following your heart instead of doing what you "should do according to Korean beliefs."
Never heard about a baby could breathe through its fontanelle. Poor Dutch kids, we would all have died.😅
In fact; the way you clothe him and take care of him is quite the same as here in the Netherlands. We go out with our babies if there is snow, frost, rain, whatever. Just give your baby the right clothes, and he will be just fine.
We also believe that fresh air is good for our babies (and their mothers).
The only post partum luxury Dutch woman have, is that they get help from a qualified baby nurse for the first 7-10 days post partum.
It's covered by our health insurance.
The nurse will help with all things baby related, and she does some chores in the household. But she's definitely not a housekeeper.
When she's left, you are on your own. But it happens often that the grandparents (and especially the grandmothers) will help the first weeks. Especially when there are already more children.
Being 51 yo and without children, I can't give you any advice. The only thing I can say is: trust your feelings and do what feels good for you!
I hope you have a wonderful week! Big hug and lots of love from the Netherlands. ❤️ 🇳🇱
I love the positivity you spread ❤ thank you
it's so nice when Jake gives you a "me time"
heyyy mtl (the name of that cafe) is short for montreal! 😁☕️ here we're excited if it's under -20 🥶 we're like ooh we can go out! i see some mums out in -25 though! im originally aussie so i don't really know what im doing 😂
love how noa was still asleep when you took the carrier off! 🥹❤
You guys stay safe and you guys are a beautiful couple and you guys baby he is so cute and so handsome and you are so pretty
Thank you💚
@sisselab you are welcome ❤️
was waiting for this!!!! ive been really enjoying these mommy vlogs lately, to the point were i started to dream about giving birth and babies.!!
Aww I love that 💚
I agree it’s time to upgrade the couch. Not that the one you have now is bad but a more comfortable one is best. Only weighing in cause I’m in the same boat minus baby.
Also choose a good fabric that’s easy to clean. Lil man is only going to get bigger and that means bigger messes. 😂❤
Good morning, Sissel and Happy Sunday!😊😊😊😊😊😎☀💙💙💙💙💙💙🇺🇸🙏🌷🇰🇷💚💚💚💚💚💚⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍. This new culture shock facts are amazing to examine the baby's health. Nice! Also, I found the word "Atomically" 3:43 with AI Overview search. It means "relating to or involving atoms." BINGO!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. Then, you froze in 5 seconds 3:54 and say "WHAT?!" with your eyes moving to the left and hear a strange background. LOL😂😂😂😂😂😂!! WOW! Now that's a spooky, funny pose right there.😍😂😍😂😍😂👍
Absolutely loving seeing you in this new mom era - you can see your confidence and calmness and it’s so nice to be able to see that. So much of postpartum is shown as scary or overwhelming (which it can be), but it’s nice to see something entirely different. My little guy was born on NYE and I feel like I’m just now starting to feel somewhat human again - physically and emotionally. Although some days still feel like an out of body experience.
It’s interesting to hear the culture shocks/expectations living in Korea - I’m in the US and don’t have a village to help with baby so it’s just my husband and I, and that’s seen as totally “normal”. Also the postpartum care, I’ve experienced most everyone only worried about the baby once they’re here and the mother is essentially sidelined, which shouldn’t be the case.
Also love the new potential couch! Looks so cozy - we have something similar but the issue is getting up once you’re seated 😂 you’re so comfy and the seats are so deep that you’ve gotta swim out essentially. But it makes for amazing couch naps🙌🏻
Congratsulations on your LO and that big achievement love !! 💚
Wait towards the end you mentioned you wanted to change your sofa? I was so excited when you first got it bc I’ve never seen such sleek furniture before and it looks comfy , the new one you are considering is a typical piece we have here in America in many different styles but I suppose it’s just as comfortable but the one you have right now is soooo nice I would so buy it from you if we lived close by.
It’s very nice yeah but not very lounge-able and soft 🤣💚
I love these kinda videos. So pure ❤
Awww💚
You are a beautiful mum❤️ Enjoy and Be Caring❤️
💚
Such a beautiful Family and youre such a good Mum, any one can tell! So interesting to see how different Families are, i was born and raised in a big family (family of 11! I love it) and babies get used to noise/sounds if they’re exposed to it. So we all just lived our lives and each baby slept through everything (of course we made sure not to shout around whilst the sibling was put down to sleep) haha. Be blessed. ❤
It’s so hard to do that when I’m home alone with him hahah I would love for him to be able to sleep through everything, but it’s so quite here 🤣💚
@ haha i totally get that! Hope my comment didnt sound judgy- i just subconsciously reflected on my own upbringing and found the differences in parenting interesting (no right, no wrong). Have a blessed upcoming week- also your happiness in this video was radiant hihi
I love watching your videos... I admire that you shield your sons face from the world....
loved the video Siss💚 have a good week!
You too! 💚
OMG I've been waiting for this sissel. I hope you and your family have a great day as always. 🤍
You too love 💚
What a lovely vlog. Thanks Sissel 💜
Thank you for watching 💚
Oh, I'm really happy for you. I want you not to be absent for a while, please 🤭💗
You should never feel guilty for the way you feel and please remember the current culture of childbirth in Korea is not that old. Everything changed when Korea became an economic power. Denmark is very similar to the U.S. on how when treat childbirth as a wonderful natural event - not like a major surgery - we also do not have C sections unless the baby or mother is at risk. Congrats on enjoying motherhood and wishing you all the best.
chill sunday with your vlog🧡
Have a beautiful day 💚
Sissel, when you are putting your makeup on in the video, you can slightly see the babies face at 9:31-9:33. Just to inform you as you have valued his privacy.
Thank you! I felt it wasn’t clear enough to blur at the moment of editing 💚
spændende at se de forskellige kulturforskelle. sjovt om nogen har nævnt det med babyen udenfor :D sød baby og familie pøj pøj ^^
I love these kinda videos❤❤
❤❤So sweet and cute this episode! I think mummy time is so important for You!! And partner time is important! Please don' t forget!!❤❤Baby Noa so sweet and it' s an amazing short time if he' s a baby❤❤And another life as a mummy and daddy now~~ enjoy every second ❤❤ So much love to You little family from Europe ❤❤
Looking for a nanny so we can get some partner time too hehe 💚
Hi Sissel ! I am struggling find cute/simple outfit to stay at home! Can you let us know where you bought the set you are wearing at him in the video ? The white one you re wearing when playing with Noa (6:47) ^^ @sissel
Omg❤❤❤❤❤
Love you
💚
How cute baby😊
which shade of the sunscreen did you get? i feel like we have a similar skin tone:)
The lightest ! The number is shown in the video (forgot what it’s called) 💚
Hi Sissel 👋🏾 Love today's vlog ❤ In my country (Trinidad & Tobago) if you get a hiccup it means you're getting fat/putting on weight 😅😂 and the soft spot on the head is called "The Mold" and we normally refrain from touching it to much when they're babies. I hope you, Jake & Noa have a blessed week ❤😊
Hahaha well Noa is certainly gaining weight! 🤣💚
Hi Sissel! I love your videos and have been following you for a VERY long while now. I've introduced your videos to my daughter in law who is having her baby girl in March! I can't wait to meet my granddaughter!! I'm so excited! I do however have a question about something I noticed you do with little Noa. It's not me criticizing or anything like that, I just want to understand your view. I noticed you have Noa in a carrier on you a lot while you are in the house. Why is that? Will he not sleep in his bed? I'm just curious, because that was a big no-no back in the day (way back...lol). (Things change, I know). Well, that said, I wish you love and light and joyous days filled with your little man and your big man, surrounded by love! XOXO
Congratulations on your grandkid to be! 💚 he’s in an ergonomically safe position and he just naps really really well in it, for two hours pretty much every time! Laying down flat during the day he tends to wake up after 1 sleep cycle (45 minutes), so in order to get a longer nap in he sleeps in that. It’s totally safe provided he’s placed correctly, plus it’s healthy and soothing for the baby to be on mom 💚
seems like this 100days confinement spans across south east asia :) (and yes i do sneak out)
❤
what stroller are you using
One hour gang
what vaccines they give in korea and how did you deal with it so far?
