Thanks, Jonah! Your videos are very motivating and instructional. As and added value, your suggestions and links published in the description section facilitates the decision making to finnaly enjoy and dive in to harmonica entry level. ¡Congrats!
Hey, sure. The note layout makes it so that each adjacent 3 holes play the diatonic chord based on the root note. So you have C maj, Dm, Em, F, G, Am, Bdim. In addition, you can also add the next seventh, 9th, 11th and 13th if you want to get fancy. It’s a cool tuning, at some point I’ll make a dedicated video on it, I just don’t think the demand is there, as in, I don’t expect it to do well on here.
Very cool and helpful. Does chugging mainly apply to shuffle rhythms because when I listen to players like Sonny Boy2 the riffs are single notes, double stops? Would you say chugging is mainly a sort of beginner type of ploy since single notes are harder to hit? Thank you
It’s not a power chord, which would be a root and a fifth. This is a minor third starting with the B, even if you flip it, it becomes a major sixth which is very different harmonically. If we’re going to dig into it, if played quickly, you hear it as a G major chord, with a substituted bass note. If you stay on it, it becomes a B minor chord without the fifth, which is also a diatonic chord in the key of G major, which is why it still works.
@@HarmonicaRevolution Oh yes for the draw you are right and thanks a lot for the explanation, but for the 3,4 blow it is the root and the 5th since its GC which is a power chord right? I also noticed that with the minor tuned harps in 2nd position you can play chords for the 1, 3,4, and 5. Then if you add a minor tuned harmonica that is in 3rd position you get 4,6,and 7 so you can almost play all of the chords.
@@chickenman7252 You are right for the blow notes, it's just a power chord. I didn't differentiate it in the video, because it still feels like a G, but technically, there's no 3rd, so you could use it in other contexts as well. And yeah, the minor tuned harps are more versatile with chords, for sure. I like having a major harp and a complementary minor key harp with me to have a choice on how I'm playing things, and having the extra chords is useful.
Ok, this was an Amazing lesson!! It improved my playing immediately. Thanks!!

Can you show 1 chord hole numbers 4 chord hole numbers 5 chord hole numbers in c harmonica? My lovely teacher legend treasure brother🙏
Can chord rhythm play song melody on harmonica? Yesterday song The beatles band and My heart will go on song Celine Dion. Tell me. brother
Do different key harps have other chords
Woah buddy slow down, I'm not ready for melodies, just trying to get the hang of chords first! 😂
can i only use harmonica if the song is only using C-G-Dm only?
Aren't the 34 double stops technically inverted power chords? I though that might be why they sound really cool in the right context.

Also, the 3rd position harp would need to be higher than the one in 2nd for this to work.

@@HarmonicaRevolution yeah. interesting stuff. I think harmonica chords have a ton of unexplored potential.
Have to go get another harmonica playing around with the keys trying to clean them and I bent the shit out of them
so no F chord on a C diatonic harmonica?
