The Larry Scott training video he did with Francis Benfatto that you uploaded completely changed my arm growth. I thought I had weak insertions, but I had just never trained them properly. Starting with warming up the forearms and wrist, and even incorporating them into a well controller preacher curl has done wonders. Thank again Carlos!
That is one of the best supersets for arm growth. I'll be demonstrating it once I try it out myself towards the end of this year
@@GoldenEraBookworm the pump is out of this world!
I have been doing them as well, crazy pump, really focused on that mind muscle connection, but I didn't get any results whatsoever.
You can't beat Larry Scott or Chuck Sipes for early 60's bicep training and thanks for doing your curls like they should be done, with a straight bar. Beneficial for beginners and older bodybuilders.Great video!

Thank you. I am back to health. I was seriously sick last year. There were very toxic people in my life and I got rid of them
Thanks for the video. I’ve also injured my wrist I’ve gotten some rehabilitate exercises that I do for my wrist but I was wondering if you’d be able too share what you practised too help diminish your wrist pain
Excellent video, and good advice on warming up the forearms prior. Personally I prefer the straight bar with a the preacher bench straight down , or slightly curved.
Quick question, did Vince Gironda ever have a training protocol for warming up? I always see the 6 x 6 8 x 8 and 10 x 10, but I don’t know what he does for warm-ups if anything.
Great video. Are there any tips on improving flexibility for the outer head of the biceps variation, especially with tucking the elbows in together?

Where did you purchase this standing preacher curl bench?
@@fortunatoluccresi5243 as I said in the video, I custom built it based on Vince's Gyms Standing Preacher Curl Bench...it took many years and prototypes to get it correct

Wearing Nike products produces a -5% in gains
This is somewhat true. The set up is the rack that holds the bar should be on the outside of the stand or the front at the lower and ready position for the lift. You stand on the back of the stand with the top of the pad at breast level. Leaning over the stand grab the bar and pull the weight by first pushing your shoulder blades together behind you, and this causes the elbows to bend at that time bring your elbows together behind your back and hold the top position for 2 seconds. Let your shoulder blades relax and now push them to the front to begin the lowering of the bar. As the bar begins to fall pull everything to your back again slowing the bar down as you set it back in its cradle, and resisting the fall all the way down. You will breathe out with a hard breath to lift the weight and will continue to breathe in your nose and out your mouth to lower the weight. Always watching the weight. The idea is pretend you are working in a field as a farm hand and retrieve supplies from the side of the truck over the bed. When you grab that weight you don't press it up in this fashion, you'd stand the weight up and bring it to you over the side of the truck bed. If you were standing above someone in a hole and they handed you this weight you'd pull the weight to you not lift it higher, or if you had to lower a thing into the hole you wouldn't lower it in this fashion because it could fall on someone. The idea of this stand was to simulate a work scenario that you'd be in that puts division between you and the lift. The truth is it's being used wrongly and that's why the injury occurs. Please learn to use this stand correctly.
@@ronniefarris8561 that's a good point, I'll place the stand forward. Thank you
In my opinion, doing curls using an emphasis on a bench greatly underloads the biceps, unlike a simple lift. On the bench the pumping and impact on the muscles feels much worse due to the rigid fixation, but this is my opinion
I have the opposite opinion
@@GoldenEraBookworm
The upper part of the amplitude is absolutely ineffective; everyone keeps the weight relaxed on their elbows. I specifically trained for a year only on a bench, the result was near-zero, the muscle felt bad, I would say disgusting, the only thing that can be good is if you do it like Larry, at the lowest point without support on your elbows
@@CounterflowEntropy I am enjoying great growth...and I'm passed my mid 40s
@@GoldenEraBookworm With all due respect, you made videos about my beloved Reeves, but your arms and biceps look as if you have never trained at all (I don’t want to offend, I’m saying what I see)
@@CounterflowEntropy Haha no way 😅 His upper arm looks to be like 42-44cm. That's bigger than 1% of all gym goers excluding fat.

@@GoldenEraBookworm sorry to hear bro,hope you get 💯 💪
Arthur Jones discussed the pitfalls of this type of preacher curl around 50 years ago. They're better (IMHO) when the bench has a relatively steep angle, or do it on the flat side (upper arms perpendicular to the floor) so your biceps actually get some work at the top of the movement. Larry discovered this himself with spider curls. To be fair, Arnold had great arms before he ever stepped foot in Vince's gym, but felt the preacher helped his "lower biceps a great deal" (I suppose he means the Brachialis.) Still, an interesting video with plenty tips!
Zero muscle 😢 your Training is wrong 😮

Please provide the plans to construct a preacher bench similar to the one used by Larry Scott and Vince Gironda used. I am interested in purchasing it if you have it available.
