    2:10... I was there! I was a season tickets holder from 1996-2001. I remember seeing Ted in that red ballcap.

    Two amazing hitter showing respect for each other.Ted had a long fulfilling life, shame that Tony Gwynn was taken way to young,he was a class guy.

    No one ever accused doughy Tony of using roids...The best hitter to ever come out of San Diego was not Tony Gwynn, wow. He joined Ted Williams up in hitters heaven way too soon

    I believe Tony would have hit a higher average in Teds era..mannnn 2 great Legends...may they rest in peace.

    Williams hit .388 at age 39 and in his last year hit 29 homers in 310 at bats.

      If the DH had been in place, Ted could've hit till he was 50.

      @@TheBatugan77 Absolutely, same with Babe Ruth. Ruth always said it's the pins that go meaning the legs and said late in his career if they allowed him to pinch hit for the pitcher all the time he could have kept playing. There was no concept of the term Designated Hitter in the early 1930's but Ruth referred to being a permanent pinch hitter.
